@starrydiamond​ needs a starter!

   If Karen were honest, graduating Seisho Music Academy and moving to an all new, terrifyingly big school made her stomach turn itself in knots. Doing so and not even rooming with her best friend? Even worse. Instead, Hikari was rooming with someone completely unknown to her and what’s even worse is she didn’t seem the least bit bothered by the fact. Karen was beginning to become overly concerned about the state of Hikari’s wellbeing. 

   Adjusting her backpack on one shoulder, Karen straightened up and let a soft sigh pass her lips. She reveled in her sleepiness but pat herself on the back for even managing to crawl from her covers, raising a hand to knock clumsily on the other’s dorm door. 

   “Hikari-Chan?” Another knock. “Hikari-Chan! Are we still going to the aquarium?”

     Water bottle? Check. Train pass? Double check. Snacks for the trip? Triple check. Can’t forget her wallet either; wouldn’t be a good idea to leave that behind. Making sure everything fit nicely in her Mr. White backpack, Hikari zipped it up tight and swung the straps over her shoulder. Everything was ready for a trip to the aquarium; a day just for her and Karen to enjoy.

     Since graduating Seisho they hadn’t been spending as much time together lately. Differing schedules and separate rooming ensured they didn’t see each other as often as they wanted; though Hikari didn’t mind all that much, it seemed Karen more distressed by the change. It was only fair they did something fun on the weekends when neither had to work.

     “Coming,” Hikari called when she heard the knocking, opening the door with her free hand. Her lips curled upwards when sapphire eyes landed on Karen’s form. Heh, she still looked sleepy.

     “Of course we are, silly Bakaren. Ready to go?”

Practice Makes Perfect || Hikari & Mei

     One would think a theatre major would have no need to be in a club of the same nature; such a person wouldn’t know Hikari Kagura well in that case. Dedicated to the art form, the actress lived to stand on the stage in all aspects. If there was an opportunity for her to perform, she would take it. It was just that simple.

     They were doing basic line reading today, each student holding a copy of Little Shop of Horrors. One by one the members split off into pairs and drifted off towards different sections of the auditorium.

     This... Was the big problem. Since the school year hadn’t started all that long ago, Hikari didn’t know the majority of her fellow students. Who to pair with... Ah, that boy over there didn’t seem to have partnered up yet.

     Breathing in to calm her nerves, the raven-haired stage girl approached the other student. She wasn’t used to having a male acting partner; all the schools she’d attended previously were female only. Hikari tried to leave her presumptions on the back-burner as she gently tapped him on the shoulder. Tall...

     “... Do you want to pair up?”

Midnight Munchies || Hikari & Keith

     Hikari was no stranger to dorm life. Seisho Music Academy prided itself on the student dormitory, and made sure to enforce the rules to the letter. Strict curfew, nightly check-ins, and other such things. For the most part the students were left to their own devices, but each stage girl respected the set guidelines.

     College was a different monster altogether. No curfews meant Hikari could stay up as late as she wanted practicing her lines; though, of course, she knew her limitations. That, and sleep was too damn good to pass up. Honestly, if the raven haired girl could sleep forever, she most likely would.

     And then she remembers Mahiru would get mad at her, so Hikari doesn’t.

     Tonight was one of those late nights; auditions were being held for the theatre club tomorrow, and Hikari was aiming for the female lead. She knew her years of prior training gave her a slight advantage, but the other students were just as talented. She already had her eyes on some decent rivals. Staying up this late meant she needed supplies. Food and drinks from the kitchenette. ...Mostly food.

     So at 2:25 in the morning, the actress-in-training snuck out of her dorm room, tip toeing carefully into the common area. There were no lights on, save for in the kitchenette, and the TV had been turned off long ago.

     ...Wait. Who left the kitchen light on?

     Carefully Hikari turned the corner, prepared for the worst-case scenario. She hadn’t met most of the students in the dorms just yet, and didn’t know if any happened to be aggressive. Best to be safe just in case. The figure in the kitchenette hadn’t noticed her yet it seemed. Were they just a hungry student, like her?

     “... You getting a snack?” Hikari asked carefully, making sure to keep her voice low. The last thing she wanted to do was startle them.

     “It’s... not that,” the girl sighed out, turning her head to face the worried stranger. So much effort for one simple motion... If Hikari didn’t recharge soon, how long would she be stuck this way? Forever, probably.

     “I need to see... Jellyfish. There’s not enough,” she explained, completely leaving out any important details. At least she’s trying.

     “...Jellyfish... Not... Enough jellyfish...” Laying flat on the ground, the stage girl groans haggardly. Ma’am, you are right in the middle of the pathway. Someone please come move her.

“Ah, shit.”

He’d spied the girl from a fair distance away, and his gut told him to keep walking. The last thing he needed before he’d even found his bed was to get wrapped up in some trouble or another, but eventually his justice won out. This wasn’t the kind of place you should just leave people, especially not with warnings to not go out at night. Places like that were likely unsafe in the middle of the day as well. The blond teen turned on his heel and jammed his hands in his pockets as he approached, fixing his gaze on her with an intensity he’d not intended.

“Excuse me, miss. Mind if I have a moment of yer time?”

     Wandering around without a goal had plenty of upsides, as well as downsides. Getting lost in one of the shadier parts of the city was a definite downside.

     The original goal had been to find a dining establishment of some sort. Sauntering around Terra all day certainly worked up an appetite, and knowing where to get food would be important for daily life. At least until Hikari figured out where to find groceries. Though her grasp on the city layout wasn’t the best yet, and trying to figure out directions... It was a hassle, surely.

     Just her luck to wind up in one of the creepier places on the map. This area had bad vibes written all over it; it was taking all her willpower to keep going in the direction she thought was correct. The sooner she got the hell out of here, the better. That is until someone called for her attention, prompting her to freeze where she stood.

    Oh, wow, this guy was intimidating. Was he perhaps a thug who lived in this area? His gaze was intense, but the words he spoke had a slight softness to them. Maybe he could be trusted, she thinks, and she lets go of a held breath.

     “Uh, yes. Can I help you...?”

     For all the inconveniences that came with being thrust into a strange world, at least they had provided her with a place to sleep. Though from what the actress could tell, the apartments were meant for two people. Meaning she’d have to share a living space with someone else.

     Not that she wasn’t used to the concept; Seisho had shared rooms in their dormitory, so having a roommate was practically mandatory. Then again, back then she’d known her dorm mates before hand. This was foreign territory, absolute unknown. The thought of getting put with some creepy stranger unnerved Hikari immensely.

     A11... A12... Ah, there, A13. Her new home for...however long she’d be staying in Terra. She inhales deeply though the nose, and slowly though her mouth. Her hand reaches for the door knob, opening the door as carefully as she can.

     “Hello...? Is anyone home?”

     Typically Hikari didn’t like going outside. It was just so bright, and the ominous warnings of ‘don’t go out at night’ took that option out of the mix. Still, being in a strange world with no information wasn’t exactly a perfect idea. That left one course of action: go out and do the thing. As much as she didn’t want to.

     Pearl Park wasn’t too far from her apartment building, so the stage girl decided it would be best to start there. The soles of her shoes clack against the colored cobblestone -- one, two in a rhythmic pattern as she jumps from color to color. Call her childish, but as long as Hikari found enjoyment in it, she didn’t care how it looked to others.

     Hop, hop, she moves about the path. Sapphire blue eyes are trained on the ground below her, looking for certain stones along the path. She’d made it a self-issued challenge to only step on the blue ones; so far her streak was six. Where was the next one -- there! She goes for the leap, and-

     Crash!

     Barrels right into a poor fool, sending them both to the ground. Except this time she’s the fool; she’s the one at fault after all. Quickly she flounders off the poor guy she crashed into, rolling to the side. This is why she didn’t like going outside!

     “I-I’m so sorry,” she sputters out anxiously, words running together from how fast she’s talking. “I wasn’t looking and I just-- I’m really sorry. Are you okay? Did I uh, did I hurt you?”

     “So it’s called... Lav-acid?”

     People with supernatural abilities were few and far between where Hikari came from. In truth, they didn’t exist at all. Unless you counted those discount ‘fortune tellers’ and ‘psychics’ that appeared on tv sometimes. The theater productions she did sometimes had roles with magic; all of it was just stage effects and lighting. Didn’t do much for her sense of imagination.

     Meeting someone with actual magical powers, though... It was different. Unnatural, but in a good way. Maybe he could help her with her own newfound... Blessings? Gifts? It was confusing just to think about it.

     Curiosity piqued, the stage girl gives a tilt of her head. “...What does it do? Melt stuff?“ Obviously.
