What it Takes is a mature, character driven interactive fiction that centers around a world where the Hero Drug exists; granting those who pass the Hero Program spectacular superpowers.
You take up the role as Sentinel's sidekick. The fight with the supervillain who took your mentor's life has left you scarred in more ways than one. You have spent seven months between recovery and mandatory hiatus, hidden away from the pressing media and outside world as a whole.
As you come out of isolation after regaining your powers, you begin to catch wind of a wicked plot unfolding.

STEPHANIE ROGERS, THE BEST FRIEND
Steph has been by your side since you both enrolled in the Hero Program. As sidekick to the notorious Spectra, she was there during the accident and is probably the only person who has some idea of what you went through. Sidekick work has her quite busy these days, but she’s never too busy for her best friend.

TAYLOR RAMOS, THE RIVAL
Taylor was Sentinel's former sidekick who has fallen from the spotlight. Now, he is viewed as a threat to the HPD and is suspected to have some involvement with the supervillain that ended your shared mentor’s life. Ever elusive and lurking in the shadows, Taylor makes his presence known to you shortly after you come out of rehab.

AMANDA VEACH, THE SUPER HUMAN
You heard that right. Mandi isn't a superhero, she's a super human. As in super normal. No powers whatsoever. Mandi is a rising star in a world of dull reporters. Her blog and snippets are seen as refreshing and she is making quite the name for herself. Will you end up in her next article?

PAUL MCCABE, THE RESIGNEE
Paul was formerly part of the Round Table, the country's most elite heroes. He resigned shortly before Sentinel's demise, which has struck up some rumors with the media. Despite wanting a break from the limelight, it seems fate has a twisted sense of humor. Due to the HPD, Paul has found himself as your new mentor.
