Why does Espio have more freedom than your average minion?

Many of the reasons relate to the circumstances of Espio’s death and Stitches origins.

To simply put it, Stitches wanted someone who could remain ‘themselves’ around him, without ‘breaking’ from when he inevitably goes too far. This was originally attempted with Tails, yet due to his recklessness, Tails was killed.

The sonic of this universe had a positive relationship with Espio, that much was clear with the memories Stitches received. But he’d much rather have attempted this with Knuckles or Amy. But where could they be? His desperation was showing by the time he got to the chameleon.

Other victims wouldn’t cut it, he never liked how they fought, or they were struck down too quick.

Espio fought brilliantly, truly someone worthy of a hero’s death.

Yet such satisfaction wasn’t something Stitches would allow his new and dear, best friend.

They’ll be friends forever. Stitches has all the time in the world to learn what he needs about Espio.

Anyways! As a bonus, here’s a drawing of Whisper the Wolf’s design (pre-horrors) in the au! Yahoo! So sorry for not answering this sooner!

Little fun fact I’d like to add to the au based on a previous ask, is that it was made when I came up with the concept of Charmy bringing home minion Espio and scaring the piss out of a grieving Vector.

So, yeah, the chaotix have occasionally regained custody of their boy. Stitches gives this two thumbs down. (And maybe a few more if he decides to open his mouth fully)

Ok but plot twist where Espio is the one who’s unintentionally behind a lot of cases for the chaotix. Specifically the missing person’s department.

Some poor woman comes to them “my father went missing 3 years ago can you help find him?” And Espio tenses up because he killed that guy for something years ago.

Espio has so much blood on his hands that even the other two don’t know about. And he brings up his kills like a normal story when it’s mentioned. NO. ITS NOT NORMAL. YOU KILLED THAT GUY. YOU KILLED SO MANY PEOPLE.

LEGIT THOUGHT ABOUT THIS TOO. I THOUGHT IT’D BE SO FUNNY (but dark) IF A LOT OF THE CASES THE CHAOTIX WERE ON JUST HAD ESPIO SWEATING BULLETS THE ENTIRE TIME BECAUSE HE’S THE PROBLEM.

And he’d make one odd comment and Vector would look at him like

are there other minions like Espio?

Yup! But they lack the same sentience Espio has.

The current list of minions (outside of Espio) is Jet, Cream, Whisper, Ray, Metal Sonic, Whisper and a lot of the chao population.

If I may mention, not every deceased mobian becomes a minion. It can be circumstantial, such as the case with Sonic.

how do Vector and Charmy react to Espio looking like that?

Vector and Charmy certainly have different levels of reaction.

For Vector, he’s shocked and angry. Initially he was convinced that Espio was dead. You could imagine his horror when he first sees him. But how are you supposed to react? What is this even supposed to mean for all of them? Could they even keep him around?

Charmy however, speaks a different story. He struggled to process his grief at first, a confused young child being told that a constant person in his life was suddenly lost. He didn’t quite understand, which is why he was overjoyed to drag Espio by the scarf back to Vector for the first time.

A part of him knows this is bad, a sinking feeling in his chest telling him this isn’t how things are supposed to be. That no matter how many bandages he wastes wrapping around the chameleon’s wounds, the blood will never quite run dry.

Espio worries deeply for both of them, he prefers the idea of never being found.

What's minion Espio's state of mind like? Is he still his usual self, or is he more volatile, or something else? Does he recognize his friends?

He’s irritant, yet out of misery of the situation. Considering his existence, this is more than justified. Yet, unlike the other minions, he doesn’t bring harm against the other mobians without influence from Stitches.

He recognises his friends, and attempts to actively avoid them. What he sees, Stitches sees as well. His invisibility and his trained stealth is unfortunately a no-go in terms of avoidance, and a certain pesky bee seems to know how to always find him.

What is Espio's relationship like with Stiches? Is he like his servant or something else?

In Stitches’ eyes, Espio is a ‘friend’ who simply does everything he asks lest he face the consequences. It’s not exactly like whatever he does matters to their friendship, as his minion he can just piece Espio back together!

In Espio’s eyes, and much more closer to the truth, he’s an unwilling servant. A plaything like how a cat plays with a mouse. He endures an endless wrath of torment, all because a monster decided he was interesting enough to keep around.

On a more lighthearted note, my friends and I like to make jokes similar to the image below. Where Stitches consistently clogs their telepathic communication with memes and ridiculous requests. They make me giggle so much, hehe.

What’s the synopsis of the story?

It essentially takes place in a universe Stitches (the exe) has made his personal hellscape.

It’s kinda an apocalyptic universe where minions run rampant, think zombie apocalypse. Amongst the screaming and snarling mindless minions, stands a pissed off Espio who finds himself being consistently tormented by Stitches himself.

Espio can’t die now, neither can Stitches. So it’s a violent cycle of torment and destruction with all the remaining alive cast trying to stay alive in the meantime.

Oh, and let’s not forget the occasional time Espio runs into the rest of chaotix. Horror ensues.
