Nothing like waiting for that one comment on your fanfics to make you hate every other email that's not from AO3...
"Why do you care about comments? Don't you write for yourself?"
Do you not like the sense of community?
Do you not love the conversations that develop in the comments?
When you cook for others, do you just cook whatever you want to eat without a care for what the others think of your food?
Writing fanfiction is becoming an ungrateful hobby because readers seem to have become selfish...(not all, mind you... The few commenters I have are fucking amazing!)
You want, want, want, want, but give nothing back...
We used to be a family of sorts. Now we feel like Glovo delivery people...
Bring back community and the back and forth from before.
I see so, so many people giving up on writing... So many Subscriptions that get zero emails because the writers are disheartened.
Reminder that fanfic authors write the stories you like
FOR FREE
Jesus fucking Christ my people...
TAG YOUR FANDOM STUFF!
TAG YOUR SHIPS!
We are TRYING to curate our dashboards by having tags blocked.
If you don't fucking tag your stuff, that block list doesn't work and we're getting your posts about shit we fucking hate on our dashboards pretty much against our will...
This is the way we can all get along and even be mutuals enjoying different things...
I'm pretty sure there's tons of people blocking Byaichi and that's fine...
So, do us the courtesy of tagging your stuff accordingly, okay?
be normal?? about that man??? but have you SEEN him???

MORE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS BELOW THE CUT

Saw this screenshot on YouTube and it's just so Byaichi coded...
So I did a thing!
My gender is Homosexula
And they’re all Vlad
Fandoms have a serious problem with how creators are being treated these days.
Fandom creators spend hours of their free time to create something to make fandom thrive...for free and for the love of the game.
And what do they get? A wholeass heap of fuck all. No reblogs, no comments, no nothing. And people are surprised that creators are dropping out left, right, and centre??
"Why is there no long fic anymore?" "Why did my favourite writer stop?" "Why is my favourite artist not posting anymore?"
I implore you to ask yourself: "What's the last thing I did to support my fandom? Does my favourite creator know they are my favourite? When was the last time I left a comment under something?"

Soul Society is NOT Japan.
It's a separate Realm that (Wrongfully so) lives immersed in Japanese culture and the language...
But there's not really a sense of nationality because it's not a Nation.
Byakuya was born and raised in Soul Society. He's a Born Soul, a nobleman from one of the Great Noble Houses.
He's a Captain.
He's the Head of his Clan.
Those are his identities.
He has no real emotional connection to Japan as a nation.
Ichigo however IS Japanese. Born and raised. It's his culture. His language. It flows in his veins.
But he's just on the threshold of adulthood when he escapes to Norway, living his day-to-day life in Lillehammer, working in Asgard.
Things that had made him be singled out in the negative sense, now make him blend easily.
No one cares about his hair colour or his eyes, a brown so light they look amber.
Even as his body gets a surprise growth spurt and his frame widens, he never feels his neighbours and coworkers' eyes on him in the same sneering, prejudiced way he'd always felt in Karakura...
Byakuya does get some curiousity filled looks, but his preference for peace and quiet outside the workplace meshes well with the population of Lillehammer and it doesn't take long for him to be wholeheartedly accepted.
He learns the language easily and quickly.
He immerses himself in the culture, he adapts, he feels like an actual person for the first time in his life.
He makes friends... He becomes part of the community.
From the place they left, nothing but closed doors and the feeling that Soul Society is just pretending they don't exist anymore.
It stings a bit, but they go on.
Their lives progress...
Years and years go by and now they're parents, raising their children as Norwegian.
They have the Norwegian passport.
They speak mostly in Norwegian (They still use Japanese. They refuse to forget the language. They teach it to the kids.)
They eventually go back to the place they were forced to escape from.
Some bonds are rekindled.
Some bonds are built.
Others seem impossible to repair...
But it's not home anymore.
Neither Soul Society, nor Karakura.
And now, officially, they are foreigners in Japan, since choosing the Norwegian nationality forcibly means abdicating the Japanese one.
Ichigo feels it. Doesn't drown on it, but he does ponder on the fact that the identity he grew up with doesn't belong to him anymore.
Byakuya however?
It doesn't really register. Doesn't faze him. Doesn't make a mark.
It was never his identity.
And that shows in the daily life they resume back in Norway... First back in Lillehammer, but then in the village of Lærdalsøyri...
Little things like Byakuya's passion for football.
Not only is he's a huge fan of Vålerenga, but he's also a real supporter of the Norwegian National Team, watching all of the games.
Ichigo follows the Japanese Team still, alongside with the Norwegian one. Byakuya doesn't...
Ichigo is a Norwegian man on paper and on his daily life, but his childhood, his upbringing, sticks with him still.
Ichigo is a Japanese man deep down inside.
Byakuya, never having that type of identity etched into his heart and soul, discovers and learns one in Norway.
He's a Norwegian man through and through... One who was simply raised immersed in a Japanese-like culture but not in a sense of nationality.
The sense of identity and belonging that seemed to elude him at times, has never left him since he built his life in Norway...
...Re-evaluation here, I genuinely think I need to start to cut back on posting here on day. I'm curious how many times I've posted here...
And I'm honestly wondering if I could be mistaken for a bot XD
There's no fucking way someone could mistake you for a bot!
Post to your heart's content, my friend...
"So you don't think Ichiruki should have been Canon?"
Yes.
Yes I do.
I believe it had much more in-universe,canon evidence and logic for it to have been Canon.
...I just don't want that for me specifically...
Being 100% exclusively Byaichi doesn't mean I don't like Rukia either!
She's that amazing Ice Queen we love in my household!
But I prefer this👇
Ichiruki is to me like...
