          it’s been a long time  since myungsoo felt any kind of fear, to be perfectly honest. sure, he suffered from a lot of different issues, but a constant fear was not one of them. however, tonight clearly proved to be different. what he thought was supposed to be a nice walk from a late night show to his comfortable and clean house ended up being a terrible chase, his assailants being some familiar faces he didn’t want to see again. it was a while ago since it happened — since myungsoo was first abducted for his “special powers.” the scientists poked at him and nearly took his life, but he made it out and boy were they pissed.

          although it’s been over a year, apparently these scientists were still interested. he had no idea they’d come back for him till he felt himself being grabbed on all sides and dragged away. he tried fighting back, he even used his power — which he hated using for attack, but it was no use. they injected him with the same stuff they used when they experimented on him and it kept him from using any “unnatural means.”

          somehow, myungsoo was able to run off, but everything felt off. he had no idea how long he’d been running and he had no idea how many times they actually caught him again before, by some miracle, he was able to shake them off. before he knew it, he was crashing right into someone. at first, he thought it was another one of them, but it wasn’t and both relief and a great sense of fear flooded through the bruised male.

myungsoo didn’t want to get anyone involved, but he couldn’t even stand properly at this point. with one last huff of desperation, he locked eyes with the strangers, 

                               ❝ help me…❞

          without even really realizing it, myungsoo was holding desperately onto the other’s arm, trying to keep himself from collapsing right then and there. his legs were already wobbling and he couldn’t keep his head upright, but he had to keep running. ❝i’ll— i’ll explain later, just please help me get out of here.❞

"What's wrong?" The question slipped from his lips as he stared, a bit shocked at the man who clutched desperately at his arm, obviously not able to hold himself upright. The male was in such a state that Sungjong found his own heart begin to start speeding up in fear. As the yelling got louder, his fight or flight instinct finally kicked in and his feet finally propelled him forward as he gripped onto the man's arm to keep him steady.

Sungjong wasn't strong by any means, but by some miracle and a whole lot of fear and adrenaline, he managed to keep the male on his feet as they ran back in the direction Sungjong had come from. It was a miracle he managed to find his way back to work in such a stressed state, but the mind works in mysterious ways and he found himself sighing in relief when he saw the familiar building.

Fumbling with the keys, he kept looking over his shoulder to make sure the men were no longer right at their heels, and thankfully they were no longer in sight, however, he wasn't about to take any risks, so without hesitation he half dragged the male inside, locking the door behind them before losing his balance as the stranger's knees suddenly give out, causing them to tumble to the floor.

He shook the man, who was verging on unconsciousness by the looks of it, trying to bring him to his senses. "Hey- you're safe here. Hold on, I'll get you cleaned up." He muttered, helping the other sit up against the nearest wall before ducking behind the counter to get the first aid kit, his mind racing with a thousand questions.

Sungjong really needed to stop working late shifts, because every time he walked out the shop door and into the dark street that awaited him, he felt himself growing more nervous by the second. Fearing that a serial killer lurked in every alley, or that around every corner was a gang member waiting to snuff him out, it wasn’t unexpected when he screamed bloody murder when a hand grabbed his arm from behind.

"No! Stop! Let me go!"

Midway through saying his final words in his head, Sungjong realized that the male grabbing onto his arm didn’t look that threatening at all, in fact, he looked a little… drunk?
