You know, this really isn’t all that bad…I’ve never been one to turn down free booze, especially when it’s being offered to me by the royal family. Really makes you wonder what everyone’s gonna end up gettin’ up to once the alcohol starts flowing, mmm?
These parties are always fun, especially for those who want to take their mind off things. I guess you could say I fall in that category of partygoers...but that's another story! Care for a more...unique drink? I have plenty to offer.
tatianavalentiina:
"Horny? I am not knowing that faeries were capable of having horns. Is nice horns? I should find one and ask if they are horny, and if so, if I can pretty please see proof! Would not be so bad, I do not think…all faeries I have met in past have been much nice!”
"Can I be dancing with you, miss pretty lady? My big man is off finding refreshments, and I am trying to avoid looking for my other big man, because he is not talking to me, and so—dancing, yes?”
"Um...no, faeries don't have horns. Unless they've got dragon pox, but that's a different story. And um, horny means...you know, what faeries are known for. But it is good that you've met all the nice faeries! Let's hope the mean ones stay away, yes?"
"Me? Oh! Um...I-I guess so, yeah. As long as your big man doesn't mind, of course. But before we do, to whom do I owe the pleasure?"
adrianncarmichael:
I always ask for things nicely. Then I demand them.
And exactly what kind of leverage do you have over me that you can demand things? What will you do, smother me to death with silk sheets?
"This is what grown ups are supposing to do, yes? Drinking to forget about all of their problems? Is something I have not done before, but now is seeming good as time as any!"
"I...I think so! Whoa, there! Just - just take it easy at first, okay? We don't want you drunk dancing with a horny faerie within the next hour. That would be bad. Very bad."
my dearest gwen,
hello! i'm your secret santa this year. it's a pleasure, truly! anyways, when i was walking in the market, i couldn't help but be reminded of you by all the cute clothes i saw! i hope you enjoy these - i tried to find the clothes with the highest quality just for you. and don't worry about the boots getting soaked! i enchanted i got them enchanted, so they'll never be affected by water.
enjoy your presents, and a very merry christmas to you, my dear friend!
- sun hye s your secret santa.
You look tired. There is much work to do, but you should rest.
No, no, I'm fine! Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself. Here the papers you asked for, by the way - is there any other way I can help?
All I need at this point is a way to deliver a message to my parents; is that even too much to ask the coven leaders at this point?
It's not too much if you ask nicely.
I wonder how Sun is dealing with her newfound, erm, drug addiction. Think Bastian could help with that?
Help as in enable her or? Because Bastian seems like the kind of guy to go “Know what we should do? Steal dragon scales and roll a joint with them.”
"Don’t get high on your own supply."
Actually, um...if I used dragon scales, Luciana would murder me.
Dazed & Confused | Sun & Bastian
bastian-egilhard:
Bastian smiled softly, weaving a thread of magic connecting the dazed and delirious witch to the little totem in his hand.
"You remembered my name. I’m impressed. The warlocks in my coven don’t exactly speak of me often. I didn’t expect my name to be all that well known in the witch’s coven."
As he rubbed at the totem, it took in some of the poison in the witch’s system, sapping it away and leeching out the effects of the plants she had consumed. She was probably going to be very angry once she felt the effects of what he was doing, but it was better than the alternative. She was close, too close to shutting down her system. And she wasn’t even in a state of mind to know it.
"I’m glad the stars are dancing for you. They’re excellent performers. Show offs as well. But they aren’t dancing for me tonight."
When she asked about the little totem, Bastian shrugged.
"Just a little hoodoo." he continued his ministrations, throwing more and more lines of power at Sun and connecting her to the wooden totem, like a spider weaving a haphazard web.
As she spoke about the dead Nymph, Bastian paused ever so slightly in his ministrations before continuing. He listened to her sorrow and perhaps, out of all the people in Sansoria, understood as no one else could. After all, he had a long history of dealing with the dead.
"You healers," he shook his head, "You care too much. You feel like gods when you save steal a life from Death, but you forget that everything dies. And then it haunts you because you ask yourself why you couldn’t save this one. Out of all the rest, why not this one person? You tried your best, but it wasn’t enough. But Miss Sun," he glanced over at her, tilting his head down to meet her eyes, "Sometimes it’s just their time to go. And it’s not anyone’s fault. And it’s not a burden you should bear."
It was probably the biggest reason why he didn’t choose the healer’s path. He could have made a name for himself out of it, considering his skill and knowledge, but there was always too much pain. Very few of them understood really what it was they were doing. They thought they were saving lives when in actuality, they were just prolonging the inevitable death.
"Consuming herbs to try to feel something is a hollow answer to your question, Miss Sun. The feelings they give you won’t fill that emptiness."
"I don't heal people because I want to, Mr. Egilhard. To be honest, I went through a period during which I fainted at the mere sight of blood. I'm not exactly the most medical person out there. I just...I was a witch for hire, and most of my appointments ended up being the injured and sick, so what could I do? I couldn't just send them away. And now here I am." Sun explained, running her hands through her hair like she always did when she was a tad bit flustered.
"But that's the thing! It wasn't her time to go! That stupid poison...definitely the work of Fallen angels or vampires. She was cheated of her right to live, and it was my responsibility as a healer to give it back to her. I just...personally, it's hard to live with. I see your point, of course...but still. It still hurts."
Sun's dazed little phase seemed to weakening, though. The sky wasn't as bright, and nighttime seemed to be creeping into her vision more and more, engulfing her vision in shadows. The plants were wearing off faster, she assumed. Faster than usual, though. Odd...
"I'm not looking for feelings anymore." Sun laughed without humor yet again, embracing the sarcasm usually tucked away under her naturally sweet demeanor. "I'm just looking for enough of some feeling, any feeling, to keep going. I can't just back out of this war and this job now! My coven, my friends, my allies...I have to help them. Even if the cost is me."
Sun turned to Bastian and hugged herself with her hands, feeling colder by the second and yet too wrapped up in her curiosity to bother. "So, Mr. Egilhard...what would you suggest? Instead of me ruining myself? You are an experienced warlock, are you not? I just want to know whether there's any other way. Please."
celinedahl:
Wow, that’s both rude and presumptuous of you. First of all, I don’t feel the cold the way you mortals do. Secondly, burning a body reeks. It would be far more useful for me to leave it out for the vampires. At least they would get a meal out of it.
'Tis the price of war, sweetie. Believe it or not, it's nothing personal. I can only keep back my hungry troops for so long. I would start getting used to it, and probably start polishing up on my defensive spells if you want to make it through the next raid. A word of advice from someone who knows: keeping yourself alive is far more important than being a hero. You’re no good to anyone dead.
If you have the energy to sass me, then you’ll probably live. Still, I would start running if I were you. The next Fallen or vampire you come across might not be as eager to entertain your silly moral arguments.
Well, since I'll live, I guess it wasn't that bad of an idea - OW! Okay, never mind. It was. But then again, survival isn't the only thing that matters. On top of that, there are dozens of witches and wizards perfectly capable of taking my place in the front lines.
I'll pass that little tip onto Maddox, and you can be sure you won't get to anyone. We'll stop you, and then there will be no more bloodshed for a pointless purpose.
Do you really think I'm still defenseless? Like you said, I'm a witch. I-I can still fight. I will. No one else is going to die on my watch, no matter who it is.
gabrielbeaumont:
Do I look like I’m joking, witch?
Well, um...is there any way I could convince you not to eat me?
owengyles:
Am I? Oh good! I had the feeling I’ve wandered into the wrong place at the wrong time. I don’t actually work here, which considering the state of this place I’m pretty grateful for- I’m a representative for the Mer Council. I’m here to make a decision about some thing or another.
Did you say a witch? I’ve always been fascinated with the covens- it’s so unusual that a human can tap into the magic around them like they do, and your texts are such entertaining reads. I even came across one about dragon training, although I don’t think that’s one I’d try to put into practice. Regardless, it is a pleasure to meet you, Sun! I’m Owen Gyles, a merman from Lake Hylia. Is there anything I can do to uh, help out around here?
Oh! So - so you're a merman, then! That's fascinating, really - I haven't met one of your kind before, but I find your lives stunning. Is it a lot of pressure, then? Making all of those decisions on behalf of your people?
Why, thank you. Yes, the books about our kind can be quite the interesting reads - as long as it's not one of those dull fact-listing ones, of course. If you want to know about dragon training, though, I'm afraid I can't tell you much, although I do know who can! It's kind of scary, really, but awesome at the same time!
If you're feeling up for it, would you mind helping me with these little first aid tidbits? I can do the magical healing parts of the job, but it would be so much easier if you could clean cuts with a bit of alcohol and stuff like that.
celinedahl:
Well, considering you jumped in the way, I would say that it’s questionably just but definitely ironic. Why on Earth are you playing the martyr? You have magic and you used it pretty damn liberally when we last met. Are you a witch or aren’t you?
I am one, but my magic wouldn't have been able to stop the strike of a Fallen angel. That poor soul would've died...and you probably would've just set fire to their corpse to keep yourself warm. And I'm not playing anything, I'm just trying to make it through your attack on us all!

luciianalark:
"I—SUN!”
Without pausing to think or reflect upon the consequences of her actions, Luciana withdrew a curved sword from its scabbard and swiftly used it to slice the arm off of the Fallen Angel that had just attacked her fellow witch. The winged creature went down with a murderous howl, and while Luciana would have greatly preferred to ensure that it stayed down, right now, her sole priority was Sun.
"I’ve got you…I’ve got you," she breathed shakily as she tucked her sword away and draped an arm around Sun’s waist. She was bleeding out at an alarming rate, and she needed to be tended to as soon as possible. As carefully as she could, Luciana brought her into the woods, laying her back against a nearby tree and immediately rummaging through her bag for her first aid kit, wand at the ready. "Sun, I need you to focus on staying awake," she said sharply. "I don’t want you drifting off. Eyes on me, Sun…okay? You’re going to be just fine so long as you keep your wits about you."
Darkness. That was all she could see, really. Everything was dark. An endless darkness, endless and numb and full of nothing - with blonde hair? Gasping, Sun managed to flutter open her eyelids and gaze into the eyes of her fellow witch, Luciana. "I-I just..." Looking down, Sun saw the deep red blood stains that had drenched her shirt, and watched as even more blood poured out from a gaping slash in her stomach only to blossom out and seep even further into the fabric. Looking up, she saw trees...Luciana must've dragged her into the woods. Luciana had just saved her life...and that was a huge problem. That meant she couldn't even defend herself! How was she supposed to defend others in this condition?
"Luci...Luciana, I'm here. I'm fine." Sun gasped, groping at her sides. Aha! With a grunt and a sharp hiss of pain, she pulled out her wand from the inside pocket of her cardigan. "I...can you just stop the bleeding? I don't have enough time to heal, I - I just need to get out there! I...I need to h-help." At the end of her sentence, Sun coughed and brought her hand up to block her mouth. When she brought it back down, the telltale mark of dark red blood was on her skin. "Please...I need to fight. I'm useless right now." Sun then tried to call to her magic, desperately trying to heal herself as fast as possible. She couldn't just sit here while innocent people were massacred. She couldn't.
Okay, first day on the job and a human village is basically torn to shreds, everyone’s fighting each other and there’s dead people all over the place. Is this what a land-dweller’s battle looks like? Good lord, I think I signed up for the wrong job.
So sorry, I’ll just, erm, stand over here I suppose. Should I just come back later, or…?
No! Er...I think you're doing just fine! But just as a reminder...which job do you hold?
I don't believe we've met, but I'm Sun Hye Su. Resident witch of Maddox Clayton's coven, healer, and your new acquaintance! And who may you be?
