Quick Rules
Any hate, discrimination, racism etc etc will not be tolerated and will result in a block. no exceptions
I AM A VERY SHY BEAN I apologize in advance if it takes me a while to interact. Sometimes I am trying to figure out the best way to do it or just get over my nerves.
Suppose I should mention fairly Canon Divergent. I bend the lore of FFXIV sort of to my will and I can't be bothered most of the time to remember a lot of nuances so. For the most part though I tend to try to stay within the gist.
This is a NO AI zone. I do not use ai to assist with writing or any graphics I make. It is becoming increasingly hard to find non-genai images ESPECIALLY on pinterest. PLEASE TELL ME if I pulled an ai image for a graphic. Please please please and I will remove it.
I am pretty much open to anything. it doesn't mean I won't be selective with what I reply to depending on vibes but you don't have to be a mutual to interact with Nai. Thread, starters, prompts, ask memes, any of my writing, in general, can be interacted with unless I mention otherwise.
I am a slow-burn shipper. Honestly, romantic dynamics will require a lot of plotting, planning, and if a muse has chemistry with Nai. even if it's pre-established the burn will likely be very slow. I'm a romantic don't get me wrong but I also want to write silly goofy stories about misadventures. Romance isn't necessarily my focus usually.
I rp as a form of escapism. I don't particularly explore extremely dark themes. However, Nai's main story deals with cults, revenge, abuse/gore and guilt so I am not afraid to explore darker themes there are just limits. Taboo topics (i.e anything with minors) rape, sexual abuse tend to be a line I will not cross.
feel free to reach out! or start a thread! or send me an ask or prompt! or DM me. ask for my discord I'll give it in dms.
(( I've cleaned up this blog a bit in preparation for it to be mainly writing for Naivah and only for FFXIV. So any other verses, headcanons, aesthetic stuff etc has been removed. I'm working on cleaning up tags, rules, and making the writing I do for Nai easily accessible. Other than that, I got the writing bug so here we are. ))
"Mhm," came X'kijin's simple answer. It seemed so normal to him, but he knew from prior experience that it was anything but to others. So many people had blanched at the taste, like it was somehow worse than the ailment he was offering it over.
But it seemed he'd gotten her attention, if nothing else. Tea was as much of an attention grabber for her as it was for him, it seemed...
"Pretty much, though we get more of a chill in the colder seasons, especially the higher you go into the mountains," he said, something that would mean something quite different to the people of Coerthas, especially with the unseasonably cold weather they'd gotten since the calamity. He could weather an Ala Mhigan winter, but Coerthas was far too cold for him on a nice, summer day.
It's something of a surprise when she probes further, asks after the variety in cuisine. This... This was a dangerous conversation.
"Meat is the most used in Ala Mhigan dishes, like griffin or sarcosuchus or, again, chapuli."
It's interesting, the way his accent came out on briefly when he said those words. Chapuli, sarcosuchus, as if they only sounded right in his head with the accent attached.
"Stuff like wheat and popotos are easy enough to grow. We use sabotender fruits, as well, to make things like cactus tea. ... Which you're actually not supposed to drink, so I'm not sure why we call it that."
A pause as he gave it a moment of thought before he pushed it away, intent to move the conversation to her for... at least a bit. X'kijin so rarely spoke of his own heritage.
"There has to be something interesting with Ishgard's cuisine, though, right? Can't just be Ala Mhigo."
Even if it was beyond strange by the standards of most.
A few blinks had a thought rolling around. It was a waste or an injustice to call something tea but not supposed to drink it. She found it a curious culture, and now she wished she had read more of it or experienced it in some way. She couldn't imagine now with the work she had to do and her training. Resulting in a longing sigh.
At least she happened upon someone that seemed willing to talk about it with some poking. It didn't quite make up for it, but a little bit in her mind. When was she supposed to find herself free of the city? and maybe if she was she imagined other things would prevent her from venturing far.
Her head tilted as she thought. " hmm they focus on different things that is clear." what was the last thing she ate that wasn't hurried from the inn?
"Stews are popular, for obvious reasons. Otherwise, I think they focus a lot on exquisite cuts, pastries, and tea. All very good. There is a tart I admittedly have a lot... roasted chestnuts, maple, and cream.." her brow furrowed as she tried to remember what it was called. "I can never recall the name.. but its stacked and very good."
She snapped her fingers. "Oh! and the Hot Chocolate." shaking her head she smiled. "It's simple but I've never had it so good before I came here. They use special beans considered a delicacy here. It's pretty hard to find since its hoarded by the nobles."
"It is rather interesting isn't it?" her gaze gauged him briefly, maybe it wasn't as interesting as she thought it was, which nervously made her talk even more as if she had to explain it further. "Just how a simple difference in climate and .. cultures really.. influences the food but there are still things that can be the same in some ways."
When Tataru had departed from her last shift, she was quite certain she'd seen Naivah seated at this table with a book in hand. When she returned to begin her next shift, she was equally certain that she still sat at the same table, albeit with a fresh book in hand.
It wasn't uncommon, truthfully. Naivah came here often, seemingly in an effort to neglect her need to sleep, though Tataru thought it might
Naivah jerked, as if stirred from a half-awake slumber by Tataru's voice and Tataru jumped in response as the movement startled her.
But then she spoke, promised at first, though Tataru knew from the pause after that she either couldn't remember or didn't want to confess the truth to Tataru for obvious reasons.
Yet, she did, after a moment.
"You... You really ought to take a rest, Naivah..."
Tataru's voice is gentle. Surely, she would have sounded a touch more cross if a lie had been attempted, but Naivah had been genuine about her lack of sleep, at least.
"Perhaps you should turn in in one of our rooms? I could bring some chamomile tea, perhaps, to help you sleep?"
She wasn't annoyed, or frustrated. Embarrassed, perhaps that she had been so careless that someone who cared for her noticed that she was not really taking care of herself. As much as she did appreciate the concern, she didn't feel like her work for the day was done. Then again she never did which perhaps was part of her problem.
"I know" she admitted lightly, glancing down at the table as she closed the book in front of her. Knowing Tataru was not going to let her sit there for long if she had anything do to with it.
"I'll take the tea." she gave a small smile as she tried to think of something that wouldn't sound like she was still trying to get out turning in. "Then perhaps you can tell me how your ventures in weaving have been going?"
The Dragonsong war was coming to an end. Many of the Scions had turned up alive. It wasn't like he hadn't lost things in the time between that banquet and now. He had lost multiple friends. He had lost his skill in magic. Roi had lost far too much already. And the weight crushed him.
Even now, a renowned hero. He took jobs venturing into danger. He was lucky he didn't stand out as much. To this day, most in Eorzea knew him to be a mage. The man with the big sword wasn't who they expected their beloved Warrior of Light to be.
So when he went into battle, he did it alone. There was no pressing need. No reason to do it aside from coin he didn't care about. In truth, Roi craved many things in life. Maybe violence was one of them. Maybe it was the rush that made him stop thinking. Maybe it was a lot of things.
Regardless, he had bit off more than he could chew. It wasn't being outmatched or even outnumbers that did him in. It was exhaustion. He hadn't slept in days. And even the most famous heroes need rest. It was something Roi did not allow himself to do. He hated being alone with himself that long.
But it led to him being sloppy. Which, in turn, led to a rather nasty wild boar that had been terrorizing the area in the Twelveswood to land a rather horrible blow on him with its tusks. They turn into him flesh, digging themselves into his stomach and right side. The pain was met with gritted teeth. And he managed to finish the thing off.
It was only after that when he realized how grave his injuries were. The dark red blood pouring from him and onto the grass. The pain that attacked him and winded him. He choked on it. His head spun. And suddenly he was on the ground. The impact increased the pain and he cried out helplessly.
How pathetic. Not a hero's death. Not that he ever deserved one to begin with. He wasn't too far away from a settlement... But it was still just as likely for him to die. He tried to crawl, but the pain kept him still. He just... needed a moment. He forced himself onto his uninjured side and pressed a hand to the wound. It was bleeding badly. Was this shortness of breath from it or fear? How sad he still feared death.
"I... I have to get up...." He told himself, but his body didn't listen.
It was just one of those days. An elder conjurer hovered over the knelt female. Scrutinizing gaze, a tsk, and a quill to a parchment. Naivah hated when she was being evaluated. It was necessary to truly understand her progress, the woman just wished they weren't so obviously disgruntled by every small mistake. It seemed the only mistakes she ever made were under pressure, and she supposed that was the point. If she wanted to be useful, truly useful out in the field she had to have a calm head in these situations. The words of her sister swam into her thoughts, she had no place helping if she couldn't use her skills properly. Not every case would be safely in an infirmary.
The patient let out a small groan. Their injuries were fairly surface level it should be an easy task even for her. Yet her hands still shook as she hovered them over the bloody arm. Sucking in a breath first, then regulate her breathing, then close her eyes and focus. Coaxing the warmth from her core to emerge. To touch aether it was not accustomed to was always more difficult than anyone would admit. It only took a flinch and another groan to break her concentration and the woman to scoff and push her aside.
As stoic as she could Naivah sat with her hands folded in her lap taking the verbal lashing as the woman proceeded to heal the wounds.
"Things will get better" Naivah whispered the words her sister always said to her when she got discouraged. Adjusting the satchel on her shoulder she knew her sister's words were true, she'd get the hang of things. Times like these often made the light at the end more dim than usual. The conjurers weren't too kind on the matter either, nothing like the healers she encountered in the infirmaries but.. she knew she wouldn't want to be destined for one place all the time.
Her thoughts distracted her, enough to miss the warning called out to her as she set on the path she walked often that she knew the way without even thinking. Enough that the warning snorts and rustling brought no alarm until the beast burst onto the path. Naivah let out a screech as she jumped back, losing her footing and landing square on her behind. Luckily for her, the boar didn't pause to size her up but instead trampled off back into the shroud.
Fingertips massaged her temple first, the boars had been a problem for some time she knew she shouldn't be distracted when taking this route. Once she was back on her feet she brushed off the skirt of her deep purple dress and looked around. Something seemed amiss, besides the boar. It pulled at her instincts and when she stepped off the path and searched the foilage her heart sped up. Blood. Bracing the satchel at her side she followed the trail, expecting a wounded animal at the end but to her shock, it seemed to be a man.
"Oh gods.. " letting the heavy bad drop to her feet she made her way to his side. Even before she knelt down to get a better look she could see the damage, it spilled out in such a way it was hard to miss. Gently she let one of her hands cover his to urge it away from the wound. "I can try to help you." her voice wavered as she tried to swallow her nerves. "I just have to see what I'm working with."
It was potentially one of the worst she'd seen, it wasn't necessarily a competition she enjoyed and it was always those that thought themselves the most brave. Idiotic was more like it when she really thought about it, though she doubt they saw it the same way. Gathering what she could she pressed her hand tightly to his side, as if that was it, that was all it took to seal the wound despite the blood that still spilled between her fingertips. Denial was keeping her from admitting that traditional medical was not going to help this man. If she even tried, hesitated for a moment she would be trying to figure out how to get a corpse to the nearest settlement.
"Why here..." trying to get her courage and the denial made her resort to holding both hands tightly over the wound like it was just a leak in a ship. "Of all the worst places... I.. gods dammit.." it sunk in that she was going to have to try her magic and pray that there was no resistance. Sucking in a deep breath her eyes closed, focusing on nothing else but the slowing pulse of the man that lay on the woods floor. "Just try to relax" As she leveled her breathing it was a toss-up whether she was talking to herself or the man.
The warmth seemed to come more naturally this time, a surprise she would revel in when there wasn't a dying man to deal with. Seeping from her fingertips the warmth soothed tore flesh and coaxed muscle to weave. Doing her best to push lightly not to stress his body more than it potentially already was.

Good Timezone! it should be a slow day at work for me so I am going to focus on getting some writing done that I owe!
Also going to spend some time in FFXIV get some screenshots and such. Lost the house lottery _again_ so.. ;_; hopefully someday I'll have a house for Nai
Serene ─ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─ Raised in Bentbranch and five years older than Nai, Serene knew from an early age that she would lead a different life than her parents had laid out for her. Instead of learning the great inner workings of plants and herbs, Serene was more interested in what the boys around the small town were getting up to. She could hold her own in a spar and when it came to what she would start training to do. Serene did not choose to apprentice her father in his botanist shop but instead, train with the guards.
She didn't set out to fight in wars or prevent Eorzea from falling into catastrophic ruin but she fell into it chasing the thrill. Serene enjoys fighting, enjoys when the odds are not in her favor. Her partner she was bonded with briefly said she would never settle, which was the problem.
Even when Serene settled into her commander position in coerthas she sought out conflict. Always in defense of another but it still caused friction with the other captains.
Serene and Naivah had a close relationship growing up. Nai is very shy and timid and never wants to go against her parents knowing full well it is not what she wants for herself. Serene helps Nai push past that. Serene is responsible for getting Naivah out of Benbranch and seeing more of Eorzea. It bothered Naivah when their parents wrote off Serene and spoke badly of her. And even though Naivah would go to Dragonhead to try to get her to come home. It wasn't really for her parents it was more for herself. She missed her sister but she also respected her choices.
Nai sometimes feels guilty about not trying hard enough. Or not being observant enough to know that Serene was getting involved in a conflict that was more dangerous than just beating up a small army or a big bad guy.
Erdan ─ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─ Nai's only friend from her childhood and grew up with Nai in Bentbranch. He eventually trained in Gridania to join the wailer sentrys. Leaving Bentbranch as Naivah started her own training with the conjurers.
since Naivah was actively going back and forth between the shroud and coerthas when Serene was stationed in Dragonhead. They went through a brief period where they didn't see each other as much as when they were younger.
Erdan was the first to notice when he stopped seeing Naivah. He searched for her whenever he could but due to his duties he couldn't leave Gridania for very long.
The first time Nai ran away from Coerthas and the cult Erdan was the first one to find her. He didn't know how long she had been running for but due to her being passed out deep within the slyphlands a place she knew the dangers of entering, he suspected whatever she was running from was dire.
He noticed immediately that she refused to use her magic. He saw firsthand the injuries that she had. He put it on himself to help her however he could even if it put his position with the sentrys in danger. This stresses out Nai because she feels like she has to do everything on her own but she eventually accepts his help reluctantly.
thinking of having this open up a different type of bond for them and maybe potentially explore a friends to lovers aspect of it. Since through helping her and learning why she is doing what she is doing they start to form a stronger bond thats different from when they were just kids running around bentbranch.
