So everyone of you probably knows shitting on Bubsy is something I love to do. Heck, everyone shits on Bubsy. Bubsy’s bad and/or awkward, and it’s an integral part of the experience. 

But what if I told you there’s a bonafied Bubsy fandom?

You’d think the few actual fans of Bubsy would understand that Bubsy’s the butt of every joke and is practically designed for it, right?

Nope!

For some reason I thought, “Gee, why are these guys so scared of me? I sure feel sorry for them! Maybe I’ll try befriending one and forming a sense of understanding between them. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG!”

Wacky Woody is a magical pencil that was brought to life to star in a game for the Smega CD. His game failed on release, unfortunately, since it was rushed out as soon as the console flopped. Though not all was lost. Woody utilized his magical powers and skills as an artist to become a moderately successful porn artist and director.

Eventually he got the itch to get back into gaming, but not as the main character. Rather, he wants to make the game; a dirty game about a hooker. So he meets his neighbor, Spanky Bobcat, who yearns to be a game starlet again, and they team up to create a dirty “retro revival” comeback game.

Peanut was an accomplished (and somewhat controversial) game star who lives in the nice part of town with the likes of the Super Pesto Twins, Mr. Needle Rat, Monkey Dong, Wink, Ben Inoit, Mando-Lynn, Great Guy, and Smash Mandicoot. Though he doesn’t see a lot of action these days as a game star, he coasts on his former success, large cult following, and royalties from re-releases of “Peanut’s Bad Hair Day” and his various cameos.

He first got into the business at age 14 as “Mr. Nutty”. He was very talented and his game turned out great, but it didn’t sell and fell into obscurity. Eventually he landed a gig at Sparceware in their upcoming kart racer, “Monkey Dong Racing”, where Peanut would finally make a name for himself. He was going to have his own game about him and his girlfriend Razz, but due to her shocking murder, the game was canceled.

At age 21, Peanut starred in “Peanut’s Bad Hair Day”, which was both a raunchy parody of platformers and a retelling of the events leading up to Razz’s death. It was met with critical acclaim and sold fairly well, and it got a remake and a sequel was planned. He was then known as “The King of Funny Games”. However, the sequel was scrapped when Peanut went on a hiatus filled with parties, hookers, and binge drinking and eating.

He eventually came out of his long hiatus to appear in “Project Static” as a guest star with his own segment, but after that bombed and was pulled off the shelves, the studio pitched an idea for him to star in a VR collectathon about his younger self but set in a sci-fi setting. He decided it was time to retire. The studio replaced him with a frog in a costume.

Now, at age 39, even though he lives comfortably in a nice neighborhood, he enjoys visiting the slums to hang out with the characters there since he can relate to them more. He eventually meets up with Spanky Bobcat and her friend Wacky Woody, and decides to assist them with their raunchy new game. He also grows a mutual fondness for Spanky, since she’s the first girl since Razz who really clicks with him. Spanky fills the void in his heart (among other places).
