I was farming ducats to try and buy out all the immortal skins before baro left but I had to go to work, when I got back, he was gone, I thought I had like four more hours at least

I love citrine, I really do, teamwide 90% dr is so cool and she lets you get away with OUTRAGEOUS colour schemes because of how her crystals work with literally anything, and her prime looks just as beautiful, I could maybe do with a little less gold filigree but eh, prime frames have a sort of theme of showing off orokin decadence and overindulgence so it works
The thing that always made me a bit wary of playing citrine is her shoulders, which seem to be mostly the same on the prime... Idk what it is but for some reason the cuts going SO deep on them rather than just slicing all the way through and having them float or not that far and just being like cracks in a geode makes me really uncomfortable. It's like a very weirdly uncanny piece of visual design, almost body horror in a way
I realize this is 100% a me problem, and I managed to hide it for the most part with the fracta shoulder guards, I'm happy for all my fellow gemussy enjoyers!

One thing I actually really like about 1999 is the whole techrot angle. At first it seemed really silly and farfetched that an Entire city just got consumed by giant bug spores but I didn't realize it was an alternate past where entrati manufactured the virus outbreak because he's a massive cunt for some reason lol
What I like about it is the infestation is... Well to be honest it's one of the weakest parts of Warframe as a franchise. All the other stuff is kind of interesting with weird twists but the infestation is literally just every other sci fi hive mind bioweapon ever, it's the tyrannids, it's the dead space necromorph, it's the starship troopers bugs, there's really nothing new or novel there other than I guess the relationship to our warframes... Until it gets put in 1999
The rest of the game are these fantastical sci fi far future tilesets with space ships and corpus angular technology and orokin white and gold, it's completely detached from our view of the world because the orokin destroyed all the old world stuff, but all of a sudden in 1999 things are familiar. You RECOGNIZE this stuff, you could picture going downtown and seeing everything look like that... And the infestation is eating it alive, the techrot.
You get put face to face with what it looks like and how it works, you see a familiar landscape get torn apart almost instantly and everyone panicking or desperately trying to fight it off (and for some reason still finding the time to celebrate new Year's Eve with a scheduled boyband appearance lol)
Halo tried to do a similar thing with the flood when they made the big reveal that the flood were on earth and fucking shit up but it just felt like another generic sci fi shooter level, even people who play the game don't often realize the ramifications of earth being infested, it's just such a bang bang oorah way of engaging with it. It doesn't help of course that every single halo game immediately goes to shit the moment the flood show up and start instagibbing you with perfect accuracy shotgun shots and rockets
Something about Warframe makes it feel different though, more personal, it's like it contextualizes it far more, it gets the right feeling across that wow höllvania is completely fucked and you're just trying to scrounge together the ashes to make the world work again

Not playing Warframe since basically the new war and archon hunts being added to the game when archon shards were these precious resources you had to be careful about using is crazy, these archimedias just shit the things out lol, I get like six a week it's nuts
Keeping up with all the new quests and nodes is also nuts, I'm sure if you lived through them all as they came out it made perfect sense, like how I was around for citrine and voruna being added as like small updates, but now I'm like fifteen people are dming me asking to help them do random bullshit

Another particularly funny but about the Warframe story I've stumbled upon, especially since the latest quest, is the stalker having less and less reasons to hunt us anymore. Like at this point we LITERALLY saved the life of his newborn child and gave his wife a peaceful passing, which led to him being freed from his abusive relationship with hunhow... Except he still shows up to stab us in the face every now and then lol
Motherfucker is just in it for the love of the game at this point, he's not even a hater at that point, I think he must secretly love is lol

I mean even during the second dream when hunhow is introduced, he tries to make stalker enact his revenge fantasies for him. Stalker doesn't kill us at Lua, which makes more sense now that we know he was a father, and hunhow berates him for it.
I think after the war within, the new war, and especially jade shadows, hunhow realized he not only lost, but how much of a monster he became, so he essentially killed himself, or as close as a sentient can get, to atone to stalker while trying to get him to cooperate with us more. He eggs stalker on to seek us out and save Jade, you know? We saved him. That's my take at least
I kept going to the cathedral and thinking Roathe's voice sounded so familiar for some reason... I finally placed it. He has the same voice actor as Emet-Selch from final fantasy 14 lol, that's perfect!

I have a lot of weird feelings about this 1999 update but one of the interesting things is they somehow perfectly recreated the feeling of talking to people in online chatrooms, finding a girl you kinda like, panicking about what to say, then saying something kind of weird, and they give you a weird response and you don't know what's going on then they log off and oh god you fucked it up completely, the first impression is fucking ruined, THEY HATE ME THEY HATE ME THEY HATE ME THEY HATE ME
