Blossoms in Kobe
I forgot to share these shots from the temple on the hill in Onomichi. 3.29.16
The cherry blossoms quicky transformed into bright, leafy trees. It was like being spun around with a blindfold on, when you open your eyes everything is just suddenly different and familiar. There’s a word for it that I can’t pull out of my head this late at night, but it translates to something like “the pathos of things.” And this is how I’ll remember my first spring in Japan.

Good eats in Hiroshima. 3.28.16
I loved Onomichi. (And Onomichi ramen!) The footpath through the city to the temples was steep and I should’ve chosen better shoes. There were a lot of overgrown parks and abandoned homes, and a few school children enjoying spring break at the playgrounds. Friendly cats wandered about and snuggled up to my legs. The hostel, too, was fabulous and cozy. I’m anxious to return and attempt a chunk of the cycling route.
