purple rain - prince • 10/10
ೃ࿔ this is NOT because of stranger things. prince has been in my life since forever and this album is one i gravitate towards when it gets cold. my mom and i had finished 2025 with watching the purple rain movie, and although the music is great man is he a HORRIBLE actor. love this album, makes me think of heartbreak, but it’s beautiful. honorable track: the beautiful ones
two star & the dream police - mk.gee • 10/10
ೃ࿔ this album quickly became a very personal one to me; it’s an odd, comforting, yet unfamiliar tracklist and sound really hooked me. which through one interview, was completely his intention with this album. its gorgeous and has this aura of a blanketing winter to me. though this has been one of my albums on repeat monthly, it’s truly at its peak in the winter. honorable track: breakthespell
apolonio - omar apollo • 10/10
ೃ࿔ one of my favorite albums to listen to in the winter. i think k found this album from a breakup in the winter? and kamikaze stuck out to me through the breakup. and every winter it always plays, and i noticed it had frequently played this year which was an odd full circle. also as a mk.gee nerd, it was produced by him on some songs :) honorable track: kamikaze
swag ii - justin bieber • 7/10
ೃ࿔ i’ve always loved justin bieber but i truly first listened to this album just to find mk.gee and dijon’s work in it. so i didn’t appreciate it for what it was. and BOY DO I EVER NOW. it’s such a beautiful album, felt redeeming with the recent albums from justin that aren’t the best. however some tracks are hit or miss, so i didn’t rank it that high. honorable track: love song
beloved - giveon • 8/10
ೃ࿔ i haven’t listened to giveon in a while so i thought to give his new album a shot. i didn’t mind it, it was good! i gave this a lower rating and now im talking to a girl who loves his music so ofc i listened to him again to talk to her about it and i am more into the album. honorable track: twenties
monterey village - marlon funaki • 8/10
ೃ࿔ i haven’t even heard of these people or this album, but my spotify recommended it to me and i loved it. it was very pretty and a beautiful album. for sure will give it another listen to so idk what the rating will be when i post this, but i have a feeling it’ll go higher. honorable track: when sunday comes around
the art of loving - olivia dean • 10/10
ೃ࿔ im going through like a failed romance turmoil and just needed to root myself back to myself so olivia dean is on repeat this month and will be probably for a long time (i need to stop dating, or attempting to). olivia dean just captures independence, femininity, and everything good and golden and feels like sunlight. i just love her, she’s helped me through sm. honorable track: lady lady
messy - olivia dean • 10/10
ೃ࿔ following the art of loving. i’ve always loved messy but it never resonated with me until i graduated and went though a breakup. goes hand in hand with the art of loving, olivia dean i love you. honorable track: everybody’s crazy
getting killed - geese • 7/10
ೃ࿔ i’m introducing my mother to geese and cameron winter so we listened to this together! i don’t have much to say about this album since i just play them to play them and haven’t like sat and consumed this new album like i have with cameron’s solo stuff, so that’s why i ranked it lower despite praising it (for now unless this changes) but i do love it, it’s so good, i just need to give it my full attention. i wish i went to the concert when they came to my town tho :( honorable track: husbands
heavy metal - cameron winter • 10/10
ೃ࿔ gorg. new white boy of the century. drinking age is so beautiful i literally want to see a ballet performance to it. love will call reminds me of college. this album came to me at the perfect time of my life, it’s 18 and college wrapped up in a bottle for me. honorable track: drinking age
absolutely - dijon • 10/10
ೃ࿔ we know how i am about dijon. dare i say more about this album? it’s just beautiful and about his love for his wife but also just the trials and tribulations of a relationship. i cried when i heard rodeo clown live because it’s just so personal and close to home to me, i adore this album. dijon is talented across so many aspects with music and this album is just a beautiful collage of tracks. so therefore and it is not surprising, honorable track: rodeo clown
how do you feel about getting married? - dijon • 10/10
ೃ࿔ this a beautiful ep. i fucking love. alley-oop is gorgeous and i got to hear that song live to hehehe :) some of these songs will be featured at my wedding. i’d love to have my first dance be to dance song but who knows hopefully my future partner i get married to agrees! honorable track: dance song
a museum of contradiction - mk.gee • 10/10
ೃ࿔ SUPER nostalgic album. this makes me think of 2020 (the release year) and although this mixtape is dear to my heart, listening to it at home on break from college and just being stuck to my time capsule of my room, i wanted to like throw up. it’s so beautiful, it reminds me of quiet fall/spring mornings and riding my bike around. there’s a feel to this i’ll never get back, so i cherish it through the mixtape. i love mk.gee and out of the four releases (two eps i believe, the mixtape, and the debut album) this is my favorite set of songs released by him. honorable track: dimeback
gemini rights - steve lacy • 7/10
ೃ࿔ i love steve, this album is so fun and so nostalgic. i haven’t listened to this in a minute and DAYUM it reminded me of high school. it makes me miss summertime or when i was crushing on people. choice of nostalgic music that doesn’t traumatize me! honorable track: sunshine
for you - prince • 8/10
ೃ࿔ i haven’t listened to prince’s debut and omg it’s so pretty, i know for me to glaze prince and then score him not perfectly doesn’t make sense- but some songs felt longer than needed but overall it’s a great album. i love prince and i know people like this album and i can see why. it’s just tons of romance and love and beauty and ughhh. i listened to it and it would hit harder if i was in love because omfg. honorable track: in love
don’t be dumb - a$ap rocky • 6/10
ೃ࿔ i don’t listen to asap a lot, but i do really like him and enjoy his music. rating it now, i haven’t listened to it entirely in full, and when i have listened to most of it, i’ve been working out. i really need to give it my time because i feel like it’s better than what im putting it at currently (as im writing this it’s 6/10). im so happy to have a new album by him though after he’s had kids, the drake drama, and even the court shit being over or settled. i know it’s good storytelling and im just happy to see his return. honorable mention: stfu
kansas anymore (the longest goodbye) - role model • 10/10
ೃ࿔ my baby. i haven’t listened to role model in a minute (i know i know) because of just post concert depression with other artists and binging them. plus ive tried to expand my sound or diverge from burning out on him which i kind of did. but we’re back!! this album reminds me of home and in the country, along with being on the beach. it’s my summer album, it’s my always album, and it’s near and dear to my heart- if you couldn’t tell already. honorable track: frances
dawn fm - the weeknd • 7/10
ೃ࿔ another album i have repeat in winter. this album just feels cold and came out around wintertime and was one i had on repeat. i think being alone with myself, this album is not one to frequently because i WILL get sad. but it is really good and one of his most creative albums with a theme/aesthetic. i loved this era even though the older ones are my favorites. it’s such a cool concept album of afterlife + a radio theme. love it but not on repeat a lot. gotta be in the mood. honorable track: don’t break my heart
pronounced mcgee - mk.gee • 7/10
ೃ࿔ i love this ep and everything but there are some songs where i could skip so that’s why i put a high yet low score but i do love his music and hearing the change of his sound. it’s such an indie pop album and makes me think of that genre and time in like 2017-2020. one of my favorite music eras. honorable track: if he
baby - dijon • 10/10
ೃ࿔ im shocked this got added to the list so late? i thought i listened to it earlier this month but it did not! i was missing the concert so i played it, and this album is just so beautiful and experimental but so casually natural. dijon makes works of art, ones filled with love to where its sickening. i love the electronical music and the vibe of 90s rap or r&b, or at least that was what i was getting out of it. again, love love love this album, its such a great one. idc if im biased. honorable track: referee
the divine feminine - mac miller • 10/10
ೃ࿔ as it was recently mac miller's birthday, and i missed listening to this album, i celebrated him (late) by listening to the divine feminine. this album is everything it thinks it is; beautiful, sexy, and a work of art. truly, the divine feminine. i miss mac sm and ugh this album is just beautiful, sonically and lyrically and creatively. honorable track: soulmate
free spirit - khalid • 8/10
ೃ࿔ one of my favorite albums ever, i have this on vinyl and its a clear orange, its so cool! khalid was my number one artist before his small hiatus and then an album or two that i didn't really care for. so although RM took his spot, khalid always has a special place in my heart and this album is so nostalgic to me. as i'm writing this rn i'm trying to avoid an anxiety attack, so as this is one of my most calming albums, it's playing! honorable track: hundred
