Exiting Samsara

When the sky is grey and the music is loud, and the road is slippery from rain, and you're driving fast in your car with the top down and you let your mind go numb. So numb that you wish you can drive your car off the road. Drive it off to free yourself. Free yourself completely. The thought is so appealing that you can do it right now - your fingers grasping the wheel to turn, you can almost feel it. Every turn, you are closer to doing it in your mind. But then you are tackled by thoughts - that no, you can’t do this because what did your sister who loves you do to deserve this? You explain to her in your head- no sister, it’s not you: I’m happy this way, content. My life is great. I just want to feel free. You think about what it would feel like to take a few pills, meditate in the ocean, and let the waves take you under. Would you try to fight your way out of it in those moments when it's too late? Actually, you don’t really care right now because the music is so loud, and your mind is so numb, and the wind is blowing on your face and through your hair- and you feel freedom racing in your heart and in your veins. The ultimate freedom. The only kind of freedom that will fully satisfy you. The kind of freedom that you can only get by jumping off a bridge. The freedom of exiting Samsara.
