Tell you what, I didn't know Travis Scott was playing Homer. Another Black person that was probably in the movie for all of five minutes that made these racists lose their everloving mind, like the rest of the film isn't majority white people.

It's probably very annoying to keep getting asks about the narcolepsy/necrophilia thing, but I actually have a reason why people are fucking it up so badly. In most american states, they don't teach reading phonically. Instead, they use a method called "three-cueing" in which one, in an attempt to read the word, observes there cues. First: Does the word "Look right" as in, does it have the correct shape? Notice the shape of necrophilia and narcolepsy are vaguely similar due to the placements of the letters. Second: Does the word "Sound right," as in, does it make sense structurally, does it flow well? Narco/necro flow just about as well as eachother. Third: Does the word "Make sense," [sic], as in, is this a word the reader is aware of, would someone use this in situ? This is the one that's the hardest because you have to do some thought to figure out if it's the right word contextually, and that's work that people are not willing, or often capable, of doing. Most people sending you asks, I would bet, are a mixture of the obvious, harassers, trolls, etc. However, I'd say a good portion of them are genuinely just people who cannot read the words you're saying

I 100% percent think this is the result of three-cueing. I really don’t understand why we are teaching people to read this way.

I’m not a teacher, but I can’t help be feel like this is obviously so much worse than how I was taught.

Look at the living room. Angular windows, holes in the ceiing and floor for the stairs.

And, look at this tilted wall.

The kitchen cabinets are normal, but there's a triangular window.

The dining room wall comes to an angle like a "V" to accommodate a long counter.

This is fascinating.

The spiral stairs lead directly to the primary bedroom.

There are lots of angles and sliders to a terrace.

The ensuite has a wet bath with the tub in the shower.

Bedroom #2 has a pitched wall and low windows.

The 4th bd. is in the basement.

There's a shower room down here, too.

A terrace with stairs to a large deck.

The deck is the same shape as the house. 0.27 acre lot.

I’m interpreting a lot of these recent narcolepsy asks as jokes, but I might be wrong. But if I’m right, I think it’s funny that people are clowning on someone a year later. Necrophilia anon is truly the fumble of the decade

I also think they’re jokes, but I’m terrified to answer them in a joking way. The media literacy on this site is horrible, and I fear someone will think that I’m being serious.

I’m also worried that some AI data scraper will pick it up if I joke about necrophilia. My tumblr already gets cited as a source for AI when people google stuff about Godzilla movies and the Kaiju suits that were used in them. That last thing I need is for Google’s bullshit ai to claim that I’m into necrophilia, and then have it link an out of context joke post from my own blog.

Sure wish fans remembered that Aisha doesn't have "wavy straight hair" she has afro-textured hair SPECIFICALLY

They could have done more to emphasize that for sure, but when you see how they style it, you can't say this is straight hair. Literally no other character's hair looks like this

The only times the studios lean HEAVY on giving her straight wavy hair is when they straight up whitewash her. They try to make it appear "big" cuz the animators I guess figured Aisha's hair back then looked bigger than the other girls', not understanding it's cuz they were afros. That's why her hair was so volumous.

It was probably more recognizable in her concepts. Regardless, it's executing the same idea - she actually has Black hair when compared to the other girls

So if y'all can stop giving her straight hair that is slightly wavy, and calling it a day, that would be nice

She's not a professional swimmer, she just swims well

If we follow this logic of "being active = huge muscle definition" than Musa should also be muscular/have abs because she's a dancer. They would never try tho. She's East Asian, and no one can imagine East Asians (women and men) as anything bigger than a toothpick 🙄

We also have to assume the mermaids automatically should have abs too by this logic, which folks also hate to consider

The issue with giving the one Black girl abs and muscles is 1)The artstyle doesn't really call for it 2)reinforcances the notion Black women MUST be bigger and stronger than everyone else to act as their protecters. From the looks of it, they always have Aisha doing physical labor in the reboot, or straight up physically fighting to protect her "dainty" nonBlack friends.

Yeah Black women can be muscular and strong, but if its always the case where they are the ONLY women depicted as such out of their entire white/nonBlack friend group, we got a problem

my pet rn is eating disorder specifically. think Severus from Harry Potter, Sasuke from Naruto, I'm even toying with Bakugo from MHA. I love the idea of a closed-off, secretive person slowly recovering from trauma or healing insecurities. I also love if it's the reverse and broody black cat steps out of their comfort zone because they see the indestructible golden retriever in pain.

Let’s face facts. When we talk about raising Black kids in predominantly white spaces, we usually focus on academics and future opportunities. What we also need to discuss is what constantly being “the only one” does to a child’s sense of identity.

Research shows us that Black children as young as 10 are viewed as older and less innocent than white children. (10! They are only babies.) That means many of our kids learn early that they have to think about how they’re perceived in ways their classmates who need sunblock 3000 to go outside in the summer never do. They become experts at managing how the present themselves to others before they are even old enough to understand why.

But there is another, greater danger. And it’s something much quieter that you might not know is happening before it’s too late."
