This blog was created primarily to create fun polls for Black characters due to Tumblr's hostile and averse behavior towards its Black userbase and characters, i will also likely discuss, repost, show other things related to Black media, culture and fandom. Rules And Guidelines 

Before you peruse my blog, there are things you need to keep in mind

- This blog is and always will be BLACK focused, Black users and fandom, Black media, Black characters, etc. If your not interested or comfortable with that, you don't have to be here.

- Please be respectful sending asks! Be mindful of what you send in images and videos, and be mindful of your words. - Please be patient! I have a life outside of Tumblr and can be forgetful, but i will get to you eventually.

- I do not tolerate bigotry of any kind, especially racism. I do not go for misogynoir, claims that "Blackwashing" is a thing, denial of intersectionality, etc. We dont do that around here. Please be a decent person.

- You may be wondering if your allowed to follow, repost, or interact with this blog if your not Black. Well, i can't really force anyone not to, i dont mind, but this blog is Black focused and i am not afraid to call out things when i see them, so if your Non-Black and want to interact with this blog, BE RESPECTFUL, i will block you on site if i see you being racist, weird to people of color or Black users, or complaining about the subject of my blog or polls, or centering Non-Black characters and subjects on my posts. I'm dead serious when i say behave.

- Just generally dont be creepy, rude, or disrespectful, were here to have fun and celebrate Blackness.

Polls And Submissions

This blogs main focus will be character polls, putting two or more characters against each other in votes to see which is the best in your opinion, these polls will be focused solely on Black or Black-coded characters. My polls will likely be like: "Who's the most attractive?", "Who's the cutest?",  "Who's winning?", etc. (Wording not exact just examples)

- If you would like to submit a character, please Dm me with images of said character(s), their name(s) and what media they're from. It doesnt matter the medium (I.E, anime, comics, live action, cartoons, etc.), so long as its not literal porn or anything, your good. You are allowed to send multiple, each character will be randomly matched up. The only thing i ask is don't send me viziepop characters, I'm not going to be accepting those.

- Black characters (mixed or not), and Black coded characters can be submitted (Such as Darwin, The TMNT, etc.)

- Do NOT send me characters who are minors for polls meant to compare attractiveness, please dont be weird. - Send me official art or screenshots from said media, do not send ai images or fanart (unless you got permission from the artist and i need to see proof of it) (Just a note! These polls are intended for you to give your personal choice\favorite, none of them are intending to indicate one character is inherently better or worse than the other!) Lolirock is a 2014 French animated television series produced by Marathon Media, it was created by Jean Louis-Vandestoc along with David Michel and written by Madellaine Paxson. Synopsis

"The action of the show is set in a kingdom called Ephedia, currently controlled by Gramorr. In the past, it was controlled by the king and queen, who are actually the parents of the main character (Iris), and who lost the throne when the evil sorcerer Gramorr took over. However, when he tries seizing the Queen's Crown, he was trapped by magic in the throne room, and the Crown protected itself in a crystal pillar. Worse for Gramorr: the source of the crown's power, the "Oracle Gem", scattered and hit on earth... Now, Gramorr seeks the Gems to break free of his prison and finish his conquest of Ephedia. The rulers have a daughter named Iris, who after her disappearance, she was adopted and being cared for by her aunt, on Earth.

A few years after the conquest, Iris is already a dreamy teenager with a beautiful voice and attends high school. Iris's life changes dramatically when she discovers that girl band LoliRock is auditioning for a new lead singer. She then decided she should participate in the audition. As soon as she starts singing, she is surrounded by the glow of a thousand magical lights! Little did she know that the stars of LoliRock, Talia and Auriana, were searching for the ultimate princess who was missing for the group, which came to be the Iris itself. The girl then joins the group as a vocalist, and discovers that she is princess of a kingdom called Ephedia. Besides busy touring, they also have to save the world from the forces of evil Gramorr, trying to gather the gems that should be placed in the crown of Ephedia, restoring the kingdom to its original rulers."

These polls are geared towards a Black audience, if you're not Black i don't mind you discussing this topic as well as i do think its important for nonblack people to understand how to spot and write\not write these things, but please know that you should not be speaking for or over Black voices as a nonblack person and deciding that you know more or better. I do not tolerate that. Its also important to understand that you can still like the characters or designs and critique the rep! (This aimed at anyone not specifically nonblack ppl)

The idea of bi women’s queerness is a state of limbo between lesbian and straight is some weird ass shit. Last month, I saw someone on twitter/shitter/x that Billie Ellish’s songs about admiring women felt forced and objectifying. It seems that the queer community has a tendency to view bisexuality in women has a nonexistent plane or forced like straight women have to walk to please men. Yall will scream from the roof tops “Sexuality and queerness are a journey of self discovery” until the person is a bi women and it gets worse if she’s BIPOC. Yall can’t seem to free yourself from the notion that bisexuality in women is dangerous or just a form of temptation for queer women and straight men. Yall are weird.

And another thing:

the purity culture shit in the sapphic community gotta stop. Idk bout yall but I’ve heard queer women talking about wanting to fuck. Not this hyper romanticized image of braiding flower crowns and frolicking in the grass. Like full blown, raunchy, kinky sex. Sapphic & lesbian sex arent these dirty concepts only meant for men’s viewing pleasure. Queer women like to fuck each other and they like to talk about it. I apologize in advance if this is me overstepping as a non-Black person, because I'm sure you mentioned this in your lesson about AAVE—and I'm fairly certain that you did—but it really irks me when I see people refer to the dialect as "AAVE slang."

Perhaps it's the linguist in me, perhaps it's because I read your lesson and I'm feeling angry/frustrated/annoyed on your behalf, but it bears repeating that AAVE is not slang. As you mentioned in your lesson, many AAVE words and phrases have been turned into slang, but it's because of appropriation and the disrespect for Black people and Black language. I don't think slang is always necessarily derogatory, but it is... discomforting to see the entirety of AAVE referred to as slang, to say the least.

Again, I apologize if this is overstepping your authority or knowledge considering you've already delivered the lesson. I myself am an educator in public education and try to find opportunities to educate my peers, colleagues, and students (if I can manage without being flagged for it) about how to be anti-racist, how to recognize racism in everyday life, and how to recognize anti-Blackness specifically as it manifests in the United States.

Please feel free to answer this privately, but these are just my personal thoughts on the subject.

No, I agree. Slang feels dismissive towards the dialect as a whole. As if the way we talk is less appropriate. Temporary, or childish. And not the language that it actually is.

INCREDIBLY CONCERNING SPIKE IN ANTI-BLACKNESS IS HAPPENING RN.

Some of yall may have heard some of the shit that has been going on right now. I'm gonna give a quick run down of some of the stuff that has been happening. Note, this is not all, and it may never be all as much as I will try to update this.

(I am going to try and compile and briefly explain these as much as I can. There may be misinformation. Please inform me if I got something wrong.)

1) Racist Chinese Dolls.

There are these dolls in China that are being called "Natasha" baby dolls. These dolls are not only very obvious caricatures of black people, but they are being advertised as a "stress relief" in which the people who buy these abuse it in various ways.

This links to a video of a compilation of the various "uses" of the doll. There are more in the replies of the tweet. (Another link to the same tweet just incase)

2) The Mocking, Abuse, and Dehumanization of Black Children.

Apart from the aforementioned doll, there are apparently people going around mocking, abusing, and dehumanizing black children.

Some people have compared black children to the doll.

Others have been going into African countries and have found ways to mock, abuse, and dehumanize black children for clout.

3) Black people are going missing.

Black people, especially children and teens have recently been going missing at an alarming rate. Some of these same people are turning up dead, deaths being ruled as "suicides."

While it generally unknown why many of these people are going missing, many suspect that their disappearances, deaths, and even lack of coverage is rooted in anti-blackness.

The following is a list of black people that have been reported missing as of recently. Please note that this is not a complete list (it may never be completed due to the fact that many of these disappearances will still occur as time passes) this may contain inaccurate information. Please inform me if that is the case.

By the time you see this, some of these people may have already been found either alive or deceased. This post will be updated overtime.

It is also heavily encouraged that you reblog this with more links to recent cases of missing black people if you are aware of any that aren’t included on this list.
