I post a lot of cute pictures of Kappa, so here’s a collection of him making dumb faces.
Kappa, fully relaxed and just observing his surroundings.
He always looks vaguely worried.
A short hike + 15 minute offleash dog play + an outdoor monument walk + a museum visit!
One very tired donut.
Kappa learned about copper!
Certified Best Boy at 6 Weeks vs 1 Year (13.5 Months)
So many people love him and I’m so happy and proud and full of love every time I have a chance to share him! He’s a phenomenal dog and I wouldn’t trade him for anything.
Belated 2 year Kappa update!
He continues to be intelligent, intuitive, goofy, and Very opinionated lol. He’s maturing more now but he is still very much a young dog/teen with teen feelings and teen brain.
I’m so happy to have him and he’s made the last couple years a very wonderful adventure. I can’t imagine taking trips without him now.
Sleeping beauty.
World’s best (and hairiest) armrest slash travel Buddy.
We’re BAAAACK! Took an extended tumblr break because I was starting to take it all way too seriously lmao.
Back to regular updates about my angel dog. Kappa is 2 now, has made more doggy friends, and is currently on a weeklong road trip to the Grand Canyon with me and my family.
Smile of the day!
Haven’t posted in a while so enjoy some very regal Kappas. ❤️
Sometimes I look through photos of Kappa’s mom and I am… struck by a likeness.
Soft and warm and full of love.
Photos of Trixie belong to @justslowdown
smell that? that's browned butter, kid. you're out of your fuckin league.
When I got Kappa I knew absolutely nothing about training dogs. Like!! I knew stuff in theory. I had taught dogs to sit and down and roll over before. I had crate trained a dog or two before. But I had to teach Kappa EVERYTHING, not just a few things, bc I’m his person.
And honestly I did some of it wrong initially. There’s still stuff now that when I learn how to do it correctly I’m like “OH SHIT…. whoopse.”
Some stuff I got right on accident. 😂 Which is hilarious in hind sight.
It all worked out tho. He’s a fun little dude, and he’s my buddy, and he’s my baby, and the fact that he’s cool and functional and social are all things I can only half take credit for.
I see a lot of people worry about doing what’s best for their dogs, especially new dogs or puppies. I’ve seen a lot of people express anxiety about “ruining” their dog by messing up too many times. I’ve had that anxiety too.
Guess this is just a long way of saying that if you really care, and you really try, and you KEEP trying even after your dog is an adult- it’s very likely that your dog will also be fun and cool and functional. Of course I can’t speak for every situation, there are some unfortunate things that happen sometimes that are out of an owner’s control. But for the most part?
Everyone I know who’s ever expressed a worry about doing wrong by their dog has been very very far away from failing. Y’all are cool people and your dogs love you very much.
Kappa being chatty!
Today I learned that British toad in the hole is completely different from American toad in the hole
And to think that all this time I wasn’t questioning why British people were so into the fried bread and egg thing.
American toad in the hole:
British toad in the hole:
Two entirely different things. We’ve all been talking about two entirely different things.
Toad?! In the what?!?!
Toad in the hole. That’s it’s name. Don’t wear it out.
We call that egg in the basket
Which one?
Egg toast one
Ah okay. That’s a cute name. I’m still living in America though so I can’t call it that.
Californian here. My mom calls the egg toast one a one-eyed-jack
I’m Californian too. Is this just one of those things that every family has a different term for?
Over here in nevada we call it chicken in a basket.
I haven’t posted any actual good Kappa pics in a while so here you go. Admire the man.
