fingcrtip:
she mentally huffs to herself as siyeon joins her in the elevator ( why did the damn thing have to come around so late? ) and crosses her arms. she doesn’t say anything when she’s confronted with a question that makes her want to melt into a little puddle of embarrassment and plain out confusion. she doesn’t want to have that conversation in the elevator — but, she doesn’t want to avoid it all together. she also knows that it’s time. she could always go home if it all turned to shit, anyways. “ so what if it was? “ link eventually answers her question as she made her way towards the room, trying her absolute hardest not to show that her hands were shaking. “ what if i did all that stuff because i wanted to? what if i picked you to be fake-married with because there’s no one else on earth i’d rather fake hold hands with or fake kiss or fake call cute names? “ another pause, and that’s when she finally turns around to face her — it surprises even link that she’s able to look her in the eyes. “ what if it’s not fake to me? that it never really was? what would you do, then? would you go home? “
siyeon crosses her arms as she follows link down the hallway, prepared for the awkwardness that was to come from her outburst. she should have expected link to not let it go in silence but she didn’t and she was even more caught off guard by her response. she feels the upturn of her lips at the same time as the tears welling up. “ go home? ” it’s stupid. it’s so stupid. she’s caught between crying and laughing at the absurdity of it. “ you - ” she braces a hand against the wall, taking a second to collect her thoughts. “ you like me back, ” she finally whispers, sounding maybe slightly accusatory. maybe a little betrayed that out of all the time she’s spent pining for link, they could have spent at least some of it in a relationship. “ hold on. we can’t have some kind of revelation in the hallway. we’re married. ” she can’t help but huff out the last word, officially amused at the situation. she reaches for the key in link’s hand and slides their door open.
