Anyway, I was expecting nothing other than Sakura helping the town as usual, and then Suo suddenly shows up out of nowhere. I had the exact same reaction as Sakura like, “Suo, what are you doing here? 😶” lol. I guess he’s not going to explain why he’s there, since helping Sakura clearly takes priority right now. He’s pretty lucky Sakura didn’t question it further, since he kind of just brushed it off… well, it’s Suo, after all. Honestly, every time Suo appears, I can’t help but think, “Why is your timing always perfect? Especially when Sakura ‘needs’ help?” Maybe I’m overthinking it a bit.

But still, even if it’s just a small Suosaku moment, I enjoy it. Suo stepping in to help Sakura again and seeing their teamwork is always great. They work really well together, and I loved how Sakura just follows Suo’s plans without hesitation…he really ‘trusts’ him 🥺

Suosaku and the moon - My analysis

I’m sure the moon isn’t just a coincidence. I hope Nii Satoru will tell us more about it later in the story.

The chapter where Suo says goodbye to Nirei and gazes up at the moon, he says: How beautiful. It’s similar to the Japanese meaning of "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?", the classic "I love you." Of course, some people will think maybe he was just admiring it before disappearing or maybe it was a ‘confession’ directly to Nirei since they were together at that time.

BUT

Right after this chapter ends, Nii Satoru drops an illustration of Sakura literally embracing the moon.

Sakura isn't just looking at the moon but he’s got his arms wrapped around it like it’s the most precious, fragile thing in the world.

Sakura only knows hatred and loneliness but as he grows and enters Furin, he begins to reflect the light given to him by Furin. Him embracing the moon maybe suggests he has finally found something precious to hold onto or more like a sense of belonging he never had before. As for Suo, he is someone who is composed, mysterious and he doesn't seek the spotlight. Him, watching the moon (from afar) can also means that he works in the shadows, guiding Sakura’s growth without taking the credit.

Both of them being kinda similar but also different:

-> Sakura embraces/holds close the moon, finds his place in the world and receives light from others.

-> Suo watches the moon, protects/supports from the sidelines, be the light in the dark.

Sakura claims the moon as something he must protect while Suo accepts the moon as something he cannot reach as he watches it from afar.

I had a thought: Is Suo watching the moon because he knows he belongs to the shadows, or maybe is he waiting for Sakura to become the "Sun" that finally lights up his dark side?

Suo looking at the moon before "disappearing" suggests that, like the moon, he has a side that is always hidden from view. When Sakura is shown with the moon right after the chapter, perhaps it suggests that Sakura will be the one capable of "seeing" Suo's hidden side. This could also mean Sakura will be the one to "save" Suo from his own shadows later in the story.

Of course, we can’t forget our dear trio following with Nirei. The three of them are important to each other and deserve to talk. As I want both Nirei and Sakura to save Suo, I can’t help but think that Sakura will be VERY important in Suo’s arc. And it’s confirmed that Suo’s arc will have a big impact in Sakura’s growth.

Suo might think he’s a solitary guy like the moon, but Sakura has already decided that the moon belongs in his arms…. Ahem, yeah don’t mind this sentence, just me being delusional as a shipper LMAO

• In the game, there is an event where they’re childhood friends in the play AND for their cinematic cards… Both of them have the moon behind them

I don’t know what to tell you other than, that can’t be a coincidence?

Moon meaning in friendship means ‘offering quiet support, deep reflection, and a comforting presence. These are the friends who listen intently, offering guidance when asked, and creating a sense of peace in moments of uncertainty.’

I played the event and… Not gonna lie, it kinda fits them when they played the childhood friends trope in the play. In the play, Suo supports Sakura in the end or even from the start. He wanted to protect his dear friend by bringing him back home (or maybe he was testing him), it didn’t work but his goal never changed. He will gladly guide Sakura in his adventure and stands by his side like he always did.

In the cinematic cards, It might actually be the sun, lightening the darkness but to me, when I first watched it, I thought of the moon. Maybe it means nothing after all, but I just show this here just in case (or maybe I’m just dumb)

My thought/analysis

Suo praised Nirei's script, basically saying: 'You really understand us well'

But for that reaction to come out in response to such a genuine “SuoSaku” story (fanfic).…..Doesn't it feel like Suo’s basically admitting that's how he views his relationship with Sakura? It's true that even in the main story, Suo has some moments where his words and actions suggest he “knows” Sakura well. So if Nirei-kun, who has been witnessing that up close-set their roles as 'childhood friends' for the play, whether he did it unconsciously or intentionally... that’s just amazing.

I wonder how Suo felt having his inner monologue of 'Really, I’m no match against you.' written into the script? Nirei's level of understanding is just incredible. Also, Suo seems comfortable with being cast as the person who 'chased after Sakura, his childhood friend and supports his dreams'…… 👀

I had a thought about this AU: Even if Sakura were to leave the palace, Suo would probably follow Sakura to the ends of hell lmao. The people of this country really have it rough, having to watch these gays, especially Suo 😭

Anyway, thank you Nirei for giving us a such delicious story (fanfic) with Childhood friend knights Suosaku…… Sakura is determined to reach the top and Suo, who has always been by his side as he grows, is also moved by Sakura's will. If this isn't love from childhood to adulthood, then what is?

Sakura: “I kind of got carried away…”

For someone who supposedly has difficulty to get into the character/role, he sure got emotionally invested: he lost himself in the moment.

Suo: “Seeing Sakura-kun like that got me fired up too.”

It’s not the first time he said that to Sakura lmao. Ngl, he could have said: “you did well” like he always says but no, he goes: “seeing YOU like that”.

Not the role. Sakura himself.

He casually drops that it affected him emotionally too. Suo admits that Sakura’s passion pulled a reaction out of him. Sakura moved him, just like the role he’s playing (confirmed in the script). Nirei really understands Suo and Sakura’s feelings huh…..

“Got me fired up”

It’s personal. Suo focuses on Sakura himself, not just the performance. I mean Sakura got carried away and Suo was fascinated by Sakura: Both of them were clearly into their roles. Sakura’s line: “I got carried away…” : He lost track of the boundary between acting and real emotion. He got fully immersed in the moment, that’s why he’s embarrassed afterward. So yes, he kinda forgot he was acting. And for Suo, that doesn’t mean he forgot the play. He stayed aware of the situation, but Sakura’s genuine emotion triggered a real response in him: He didn’t forget, he reacted.

In my opinion, they didn’t just perform the scene… they felt it. The acting became real for a moment and both of them responded to that.

Just my thought but it was like:

Sakura: "I lost control a bit..."

Suo: "You made me feel something."

🌸 Behind the scene 🌸

Title: A Touching Sight

When Suo says he is "deepening my understanding of the role", he’s likely analyzing how the script mirrors his actual relationship with Sakura. By "accepting" the role, Suo is essentially thinking: "You’ve noticed how much I support Sakura."

But they don’t have to act since their roles are basically them, it’s their real personalities and Nirei is the one who wrote so he knew what he was doing. Since he wrote this based on how he actually sees them, the "role" and Suo’s "reality" are one and the same. Suo isn't studying a character -> he’s studying the reflection of his own behavior/feelings toward Sakura.

Of course, he isn't just teasing here: he’s making an observation. He has heard Sakura say similar things a thousand times in the heat of a fight or when he's being "serious". Suo’s basically saying: "You aren't playing a character, Sakura-kun. This is just you. Why are you so embarrassed to be yourself?"

Nirei is a genius scriptwriter because he’s kinda ‘forcing’ Sakura to confront his own personality lmao.

This is the end of the childhood friends event! It was the best anniversary event for me because it was literally Suosaku and Nirei as their biggest shipper.

I will miss them so much…. Childhood friends Suosaku please come back someday later in the future…. I would like to have a sequel. I really love this plot, if they don’t come back, I will force Nirei to give me his AO3 account 😤

Anyway, I’m glad they gave us those cute moments before the storm haha…. But for them to give us Suosaku fight before things become serious, it’s definitely not a coincidence. They could have give us something else than Suo and Sakura fight, just saying. (Not complaining, thank you for the food)

Imagine, your childhood friend who was always by your side, has become your enemy... Well, it happened to Sakura 😔

(I have a feeling that in the manga, Sakura will have ‘mixed’ feelings and he will ask to Suo why he’s doing this, just like in the play and they will end up fighting…. My heart 💔)

Suo & Sakura FIGHT + my analysis (Official game)

The play's plot: Sakura discovers that his opponent is Suo, his childhood friend. Suo wants to bring Sakura back home—even if he has to use force on him…….

More importantly…..

He used the same phrase he said in the KEEL arc, this is crazy.

My analysis/thoughts:

"To take you back to the palace."

I believe he isn't trying to control Sakura or anything but it's about protection. He mentions the palace is a "safety" place since there is everything. Maybe he means outside path Sakura chose will be full of struggle and danger.

Perhaps when he was trying to convince Sakura, he meant something like: "If you stay, you won't suffer."

He says he's doing this for Sakura's sake so that means Suo is preventing him from getting hurt.

In the end, Suo respects Sakura's resolve. He understands Sakura won't be convinced by words: his original goal (protect Sakura) becomes unnecessary because he now understands Sakura doesn't need protection in that way, since forcing him back would betray what Sakura truly wants.

He went from "I'll protect you by bringing you back" to "I'll protect you by supporting your path". That's why he says: "What I want... is to support you."

BUT

I also think that Suo knows Sakura isn't weak. They grew up together, and he's seen his abilities firsthand. That's why he doesn't treat him like someone fragile during the fight. He trusts Sakura's strength but at the same time, he can't help but worries. He wants to see with his own eyes if Sakura is serious about his dream so he fought him to confirm it. When Sakura says things like: "I want to move forward with my own strength" and shows zero hesitation...

That's when Suo realizes: this isn't impulsive. Sakura fully knows/accepts his path. At that point, the "test" is over. And once he got his answer, he didn’t try to win anymore: he chose to stand beside him and supports him like he always did.

Suo was moved by Sakura’s sincerity and it’s confirmed in the script (in part.4)

That’s it for my analysis!

I found their fight in the play amazing, even if there were only sounds of their fight, I still loved it. Suo really cares about his childhood friend Sakura and wants the best for him (he doesn’t want him to get hurt) but knowing him for a long time, he knows deep inside his heart that he can’t convince Sakura to stay in the palace.

I love that Nirei is the one who wrote the script because he took after Suo and Sakura’s feelings/personalities. Even Suo said to Nirei that the script was really good (I guess he meant that Nirei knows them too well lol)

I can’t wait to see their real fight in the manga but I know my heart will break 💔 Still, I believe that Suo will react the same way as in the play in some way…. Well, it’s just a thought!

Perhaps, Suo wanted to make sure that everyone knows that they are close lol. (Btw just a small detail: In this play, Suo says ‘Sakura’ instead of ‘Sakura-kun’)

He really wants Sakura to go back home with him. When Sakura refuses, he respects his wish but this mf decides to surprise his bff -> be his opponent to take him down so that he can “win” against Sakura and take him back to their home 😭

I love how the official game ship Suosaku. The rest of the episodes from anniversary event are released and WHAT IN THE WORLD DID WE DESERVE SUCH SUOSAKU CONTENT?? Suo and Sakura are CHILDHOOD FRIENDS (the roles they play), they both used to play knights together and funny how Suo always won. Since they’re little, they’re always together.

And you know what? THE WRITER OF THE STORY IS NONE OTHER THAN NIREI HIMSELF. Nirei admires(ships) these two so much to make them childhood friends where Suo supports Sakura’s dream and want to stay by his side. He also really wanted to win the competition to bring his lover Sakura back. Idk what to think than gay. Is Nirei is a BL author because his writing is fire 🔥

I wonder if Suo and Sakura were indeed childhood friend in the Main story? Maybe Suo recognizes Sakura but Sakura forgot something like that? Idk it’s vague but it’s still a nice theory and fun to imagine.

Collab: Pokecolo Twin x Wind breaker

When I saw Pokecolo Twin made a collaboration with Wind Breaker, I was like: Oh my god, can we really do.... that with Suosaku? 🥹 And I was right, we can make Chibi Suosaku lovers, BFF and a lot of things/actions with them.

The game is about dress-up but you can also make your chibis interact with each other and I find it very adorable.

The fact Wind breaker and Pokecolo Twin made a collaboration is really funny. They know we can do a lot of things with Suosaku chibi & and we did! (There are only: Suo, Sakura, Kaji and Umemiya chibi in this game)

Actually, we can make them canon, be lovey-dovey but more importantly......

WE CAN MAKE THEM MARRIED.

Sakura realizes the missing dog is actually a statue and everyone else ‘knew’. Tsubaki and Suo aren’t mocking him for being slow or dumb, they’re enjoying his genuine attitude.

When Suo says: “how cute”, he probably means: “I like watching you try so hard” -> he finds Sakura ‘cute’ for being clueless and determined.

Suo isn’t just teasing Sakura, he’s admiring him in his own way. The “how cute” is about Sakura being Sakura, clueless and sincere.

That line tells us everything: Suo appreciates Sakura’s efforts by how seriously Sakura takes things -> He enjoys seeing that side of Sakura.

That surprised me lol, but that was a cute moment between Sakura and Suo so I had to translate this.
