Fun French Fact
You probably all know how these little things are called :
Yeah, you’re right, the minions. Which is pretty logical, since it’s their role, and that “minion” mean something in english.
In french, a proper translation could have been “larbins” or “serviteurs”.
But no. In the movies “Despicable Me” 1 & 2, they ketp the word “minions”. And the funny thing is that “minion” is pronounced in french exactly like the french word “mignion”, which means… cute.
So, basically, when a french person speaks about the minions to other french persons, it’s the same that if they were talking about the “cute ones”. When you hear it, there’s no differences, which can lead to some confusion…
