Ok so everyone knows how the Onceler looks like Ryan Ross (I am not typing “Once-ler” that looks dumb sorry) but I swear this will never get old. I watched The Lorax again last night and neeeeed to break this down even further because WHOEVER WORKED ON CHARACTER DESIGN WAS THE ACTUAL BIGGEST PANIC! AT THE DISCO FAN. IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY. So bear with me through this recap I just spent a whole quarantined day editing…

let’s start with Brendon – not only does Ted’s character wear the same striped red shirt that Brendon wore a ton in 2008, but he also has dark jeans and the same exact shoes as well:

And fine, maybe that’s a coincidence. But then look at Ted’s one other outfit change:

Brendon’s pants on the right did have pinstripes as well, promise. And I know lots of other stuff could be a coincidence (like how Ted’s crush is named AUDREY of all things) so I’ll just move onto the Onceler Ryan Ross…

So Ryan was really well known for his stage makeup, right?

The red stripe was arguably his most iconic look. And THIS IS THE ONCELER’S ACTUAL INTRO that crossfades into his memory of the past:

Went to a thrift store just now and somehow I found a few PERFECT things for my planned cosplays!

A hat and tie for the two different versions of the onceler; and a cardigan that would be great for the Warden!!

I wasn’t expecting at all to find such perfect matches; especially for the Onceler’s tie and Warden’s tailcoat

Oncie would be so wonderful in this situation.. he’d be really good at cheering you up if that’s what you wanted; saying silly little things to distract you and make you smile. Even if all you can manage is a small smile, he’d be happy to see it.

He’d hold you close and give you all the comfort in the world, petting your hair softly while letting you fidget with the folds in his clothing, or his fingers, or any part of him to let you self soothe.

Even if you were with him while his company had made it big, he’d set aside time to be with you. If he was working on any paperwork when you need him, he’d put it down immediately without even thinking about it. With him being such a big and successful businessman, taking breaks won’t hinder his efforts; and if needed he could always ask a staff member to assist him.

He’d assure you that he’ll make absolutely sure that whoever hurt you stays far, far away. And if said person starts causing trouble again, he has his ways of making people… disappear, if needed. If it’s a less severe case or doesn’t require such a drastic solution, he has his reliable security and legal team that can help.

If you were out in public together and felt anxious or unsafe, the Onceler would hold his arm around you tight, and let you cling to him or hold his hand. Whatever you needed most from him. If it were a situation where you didn’t want to be seen, or felt self conscious about crying; he’d let you hide yourself against him while guiding you along; glaring at anyone who looked your way. If you were afraid of calling attention to yourself by hiding, he’d let you where his sunglasses and hat.

Whatever the case may be, he’d do his best to help you feel as comfortable as possible.

It’s 3am and I really wish I could grab onto the Onceler’s shirt and pull him close to me, before barely teasing teasing his lips with the ghost of a kiss…

He’d be completely irresistible; I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from using my tongue to taste him before fully pressing our lips together. I want to feel his hips against mine; but before he can grind against me, I’d use my knee to push his hips slightly away again, just so I can hear him whimper.

Hearing him like that would make me wanna hear even more of his cute sounds; and I’d do whatever I have to to make him make more.

God what I would do to have specifically him. I’m barely awake and really hope he’s in my dreams; it’s the only place where he’s a little more real.

Lol I’m literally falling asleep and almost dropping my phone/ starting to get those pre-sleep liminal dream hallucinations; so sleepy time now 💤💤💤
