queen of selfies
kesha literally got put through some terrible fucking abuse and violence, a lengthy public trial, rehab, and slew of people constantly tearing her career down for being a “slut” or a member of the lgbt+ community and she returned from hiatus and put out rainbow which is inspiring and raw and incredibly uplifting and talks about strength through self-acceptance of the good and bad inside of her.
taylor swift tried to manipulate and lie to destroy not one, not two, but THREE (3) people’s careers, got caught in a lie and publicly dragged, and she returned from hiatus and put out an overproduced song with trash lyrics talking about how she can’t let go of the smallest slight against her…
if that doesn’t tell you who’s really a good person at heart, i don’t know what does.
there they go. there they go. every time taylor swift does something, somebody gotta argue how shitty a person she is for doing it. don’t forget kanye west had a nude replica of her body designed for his famous video for the sake of “art’. don’t forget katy perry came back with her new album drumming up old beef that everybody had already forgotten about and when taylor wouldn’t respond, she tried to extend an olive branch like she was the bigger person. don’t forget taylor literally just got through a drawn out court case where radio dude groped her.
i’m not diminishing what kesha went through but there is literally no reason to compare the two.
As you move forward with a director career, what fears and hopes do you have regarding future projects and the film making industry? Also, do you have already have a signature style in mind or does something like that come through an evolutionary process?
I think, because my only experience so far has been on PLL, I think my biggest curiosity (not really concern) is: what will my style be? When you make an episode of an established show, you can bring yourself and your vision to it in particular ways, but in the end the idea is hopefully to turn in another episode of PLL, you don’t want to rock the boat too hard.
So for my next project, which I don’t know what it will be, I hope to find out more about my style, about how I want to tell stories. But, likely, the story itself will dictate a lot of that.
Call me salty or a hater or whatever but let me just rant why I hate corny anti-materialism shit like this that surreptitiously criticizes rap. Homeboy said "ain't about the gold chains, ain't about the fake girls [...] my lyrics are different" and my eyes rolled so far back into my head.
People who write songs like this do not understand where rappers are coming from when they're promoting this ostentatious and flashy lifestyle in videos, etc. It comes from a point of centuries of deprivation. There are things that white people had for decades that we could never dream of getting and then we finally get it and some people wanna act like it's the worst thing to want luxury items. Do we go overboard sometimes? Yes. But imagine if all you have is spam and vienna sausages to eat and down the street someone has a steak and crispy potatoes. And you can smell it when you pass their house. You can see it in the window but they don't invite you in to eat. When you can finally get that steak, you're like "fuck it, lemme get two. lemme get three." Is it a detrimental mindset to focus on obtaining a lifestyle like what is depicted in entertainment? Well, I think It's a gray area because it depends on how you go about it and how much value you put on things like that. But I don't think it's worth it to outright condemn the desire to want things.
We had our own wall street, and white people took that from us. We want to own our own businesses but we can't get loans. We don't own anything in our communities. You don't understand what it's like for someone who has had nothing to get a chain.Or to get some Jordans. It may be a paltry item to some, but to people from the hood, that shit is everything. That shit feels like retribution. White people had furs and diamonds for decades. They were doing coke for fun in the 70s. Now, PETA wanna come at you sideways for wearing fur. Crack hit the hood and the government "declares war" on drugs. And I'm not shoving aside the atrocities of fur trade, blood diamonds or drug use. It's just that it's not fair that some communities set what constitutes as luxury. They got to enjoy that luxury unchecked. Then other communities get a semblance of what they had and it feels like you should be ashamed for wanting these things.
Let me be clear: I don't hate white people. I just hate when white people do and say stuff like this because they don't understand where it comes from. And if you’re not one of the people who desires luxury living, that’s cool too. But don’t get on a high horse because of it. That’s all I’m saying.
(And if I wanted to be petty: his ol dollar-store-ed-sheeran-slash-jason-mraz-ripping-off-rihanna’s-umbrella-hook ass did not deserve that gold buzzer).
when you mindin’ yo damn business, then anxiety, depression and that one random embarrassing moment from 10 years ago come fuck up the mood

so............. just came out of a car accident
luckily--and i truly emphasize luckily--it wasn’t that bad. just some damage to the front of the car, passenger side door and my knee’s kinda scrapped. but i’m just glad it was that minor.
when they say life can change in a second, they aren’t joking. everything just happened so fast.
i really liked rihanna’s outfit in that new dj khaled video. very colorful.
i was looking at reviews for a restaurant near me--and i know it’s dumb--but i laughed at this review for like five minutes

so yeah, i really love that new lana del rey video
one last liv and maddie drawing because i’m a sentimental dork who’s not over the series finale yet. (lol) this show will always have a special place in my heart for making me laugh whenever i really needed to and punching me in the chest with 'the feels' sometimes. so much love to the cast, crew and fans.
