Curious whenever you call out jason as a killer, stans always bring up Cass and Damian as whataboutism, uttering ignoring all the work they've done to redeem themselves or that these stans are targeting POC

Pretty obvious there's a double standard where jason is always infantilized from any inconvenience even when he's the abuser in the situation

Just occurred to me that the only half-decent red hood stories are UTRH and some Outlaws stories, aka when he's a villain or separate from the Bat-family. The moment DC insists that he team-up with the Bat-family is when everything falls apart because his very concept is incompatible with the Bat-family

The reason no writer can make a good jason story is because his very concept is flawed. A bitter former sidekick who's methodology goes against everything the other heroes stand for is not a hero himself. That's a villain

I literally cannot for the life of me like or get along with Jason Todd stans. Whether it’s here on tumblr or on twitter, this fanbase has got to be most insufferable and toxic of all the batfam characters, and the most performative activists I’ve seen for any comic book character, period. Out of all the comic character fanbases I’ve interacted with, they are in the top ten for the worst.

These people are hypocrites and cannot handle criticism. They hate when Jason is mischaracterized, but they have no problem mischaracterizing other characters to make him look better. Mischaracterization is literally only bad when it’s Jason.

They claim and act like they’re the upmost progressive, but they will disregard and steal traits of female characters to give to Jason and perpetuate racist stereotypes. The only defense these people have of Jason is classism (which does exist, I’m aware and I acknowledge that, but I cannot stand the fake virtual signaling and performative activism from these people)

And the thing is, I try to understand these people. I get the appeal of Jason. I understand being defensive of a character who has been historically dogged on. But his fanbase legit cannot take any criticism, even when it’s constructive, or any opinion that might disagree with theirs.

Here’s a personal anecdote of mine: I used to be mutuals with a jason stan on twt. They were nice and we were cordial. But I tweeted something once that many people disagreed with (which is fine) but then this person posted memes shading me. All over a fucking tweet. Needless I’ve been blocked by them.

Sorry if I seems like I’m bitching about my personal drama, but I promise I have a reason for bringing this up: his fans are immature hypocrites who cannot take any criticism. They often make sweeping accusations about other characters (mostly Bruce) and can’t handle when it happens to their favorite character.
