Memory of Her

Salia’s aunt was a skilled user of magic. Entering the family through marriage to her uncle on her mother’s side, she wrote many letters to Salia’s family, sharing many recipes for salves, and other medicinal mixes for various purposes as well as just keeping in touch with her in-laws. However, shortly before Salia was born, her aunt had succumbed to illness. Her uncle, Esme, didn’t have it in his heart to take over the shop, but kept it the way his late wife would have liked it. He shared many stories to Salia, to keep his wife’s memory alive, as well as to inspire her. But, when he disappears, by default, Salia inherits everything, but honors her aunt and uncle by keeping it the same way they both left it.

School wasn’t much of an option, but the endless books collected from the past still offered what they could. Salia studied on her own during the hours she can focus the most while taking notes.

Any subject was pleasant except for recreation of potions, she failed attempts more often than she’d like to admit.
