the story of Marc Lépine P1 (summarised)
born in 1964 to an algerian immigrant and a french-canadian
he did not associate with any religion, he was known in his family as an atheist, despite the fact that he was baptised catholic and that his father was a muslim
marc was not actually his real name, he was born as gamil rodrigue liass gharbi
marc's father, rashid, was often violent towards his wife after a stock market crash, and had the ideology that women were made to serve men
they divorced in 1976. after a long battle between domestic abuse, towards his wife (monique) and his children, gamil (marc) and nadia.
gamil was taunted and bullied due to his name, so he acted by changing his legal name to marc lepine, taking his mothers surname.
his sister, nadia, used to tease him on his looks and his lack of ever gaining a girlfriend, in which he retaliated, by fantasizing about her death
marc's mother, monique, searched for a male rolemodel for him, in which she connected with the Big Brother foundation.
this soon ended in 1979 when there had been suspicions of molesting young children on his big brother, him and his big brother denied the accusations.
he owned an air rifle, in which he used to shoot pigeons with his friend
later on he became fascinated by WW2, and admired AH as a leader. because of this, he applied to become an officer cadet at the Canadian Forces.
he was not accepted into it during the interview process. he said it was "difficulty accepting authority".
when he turned 18, and moved to saint-laurent, this was where his 7 years of sadness had started. (more about this in part 2)
in august of 1982 he began going to a university, in which, he failed the courses in the first semester. but managed to improve his grades substantially by the second.
he had worked with his mother in the hospital she worked at, he was seen by employees at the job as nervous immature and hyperactive, and was often mocked for it.
he gained an attraction to one employee, but was too afraid to ask her out. and had supposedly told her "ive asked a lot of girls out, but they have all refused. i know so many girls but they wont go out with me, im not good-looking."
he also failed to get a diploma as he stopped attending classes.
he later then moved out of his mothers home to his own apartment, and then later applied to polytechnique in the condition he had to complete two compulsory courses, but he never did this
in 1987, he was fired from the hospital due to aggressive behaviour, he had described suicidal tendencies and had planned to do a murderous rampage, and then, commit.
he began a course in computer programming at a private college, he had also took all 3 courses in order to collect his diploma. after this he moved in with a friend of his in montreal.
he wanted a girlfriend but was very ill around them. and just like his father, he tended to start bossing them around and show off how smart he was infront of them. he had believed in traditional values, that women should stay at home and not be apart of male dominated jobs, for example, a police officer. he had made his ideologies clear to all his friends, and often ranted about it to them.
all of this is summarised from his wikipedia page, this is because i know a lot of you dont gaf abt the wiki pages and would rather watch a video or a short story on them. so i shortened his life to as much as i could, keeping the most relevant things in
