Different kinds of toys littered the neutral toned carpet of the playroom. All belonging to the space bunned, doe eyed four year old. Music played from her boombox, all songs approved by her. Amari stood at her made up checkout counter in her little pink apron. She awaited her first customer, greeting him with a smile.
Erik sat the pink basket of plastic groceries on the table, giving his little princess a full smile. You watched from across the room, folding up a basket of her clothes. âHow are you today, sir?â Her tiny voice made the both of you chuckle.
He watched her begin to âscanâ the items, replying with a âIâm good, lil mama. How are you?â
âBlessed and highly favored.â You let out the loudest cackle to her response. Another thing sheâd learned from her goofy aunt. Erik chuckled, shaking his head with a smile.
Once sheâd finished her scanning, she looked to the imaginary screen. âYour total is $27.54.â
Erik nodded as he took out his wallet, taking out the fake card sheâd given him before their game began. Once he swiped the card, Amari tsked and looked up to him. âIâm sorry sir, but your card declined. Wanna try a different one?â
Erik raised a brow, taken back by what sheâd just said. âMe? Declined?â He put a hand to his chest. She nodded her head, giggling at his dramatic reaction.
He heard you snort behind him. To which he threw you a quick playful glare. âLemme try it again. Maybe I did it too fast..â
