Sonaze Fic
Ā Ā Ā Ā The waves along the coast rolled in gently one at a time. Their slow-paced retreats to the ocean were slowly lulling a nearby hedgehog to sleep. He was sleeping curled up a comfortable distance away from the water. āHey! Thisāll make a good spotā heād chirped. āThe sandās nice and warm. This shadeās not too bad either!ā His words were now making their leisurely rounds through a purple felineās mind.
Ā Ā Ā Ā She hadnāt quite understood how Sonic and Tails ended up here in her home dimension. If only they had arrived at a more convenient time, sheād think to herself. Captain Whiskerās antics couldnāt have been any more ill-timed. Then again, perhaps there was a connection?
Ā Ā Ā Ā A nearby shuffling noise broke Blaze from her thinking. Sonic gave out a deep sigh and flipped over onto his side, shaking off a bit of sand from his quills. A quick glance and tired smile was all he gave her before returning to his nap.
Ā Ā Ā Ā At least they could have this moment together, her thoughts continued.
Ā Ā Ā Ā In truth she had wanted to nap too, but her earlier worries prevented it. However, the dozy glance she had just received from Sonic steered her attention back towards him. Even lost here, in an unfamiliar dimension far from home, he had settled in easily enough. His stomach rose up and down slowly, nearly in time with the waves rolling in from the sea. A soft, refreshing breeze was blowing across the coast.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Without realizing it she found herself staring out at the sea, no longer thinking of anything in particular. Thoughts came and went through her mind but she no longer gave them any attention.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Only when a hand placed itself on her shoulder did she realize Sonic had finally awoken from his nap. Being spooked from her daze had amused Sonic enough that he let out a small chuckle.
Ā Ā Ā Ā āYou surprised meā she said, feeling the need to defend herself.
Ā Ā Ā Ā āWhat were you thinking about?ā he had asked, changing the topic.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Before she could gather her thoughts and reply, he sat up and began leaning into her. He firmly nuzzled against her cheek before staring out towards the sea as she had done earlier. She paused before deciding to join him. Only the breeze disturbed their temporary peace.
