this is so domestic???

“who said you were helpless?” trust him, he gets what it’s like to be blamed for something you didn’t do – before you’ve even done anything. gods, if anyone does.
percy sighs, carding a hand through the mess of his hair. “i know i’m not babysitting. i’m just saying, this is a busy place. might not be the smartest idea to get separated. if you still want to check it out, lead the way.”
“ Made it seem like you were implying that. ” The pout was nearly nonexistent from a bystander’s point of view, but it was still there. At least he had a bit of faith in him, or so he hoped.
“ Really? ” Eyes brightened with enthusiasm flowing through, not having expected he would give him an opportunity to lead without some sort of condition tailing along with it.
“ I mean--if you’re really alright with that. They had this pretty cool looking game with a lot of kicks & punches happening in it! & how can you resist that? ”
“just stay where i can see you?”
@supertraining
“ I’m not helpless, & you’re not my babysitter. It’s not like I go around causing trouble... ” That job belonged to someone else.
“ I wasn’t planning on going far, anyway...I just wanted to get a closer look at what they were selling... ”

ALL RIGHT, FINE. If their lives depended on it, then he supposed they’d have no other choice. He was just – absolutely miffed with how uncanny that previous statement had sounded – it reminded him a very specific mean monkey. With a deep breath, Kubo swung his shamisen onto his back and did as he was told, swallowing his pride. ‘ I hope he’s right about this … ‘ of course, any doubt he might have felt wasn’t said.
It was a tiny pet peeve of his whenever people had doubted him. Although it may have not seemed like it, he was reliable for the most part...emphasize on the most. He was still learning how to adjust to his powers, & everyday was another tiny feat in being able to control them.
Additional weight now added behind him, he linked his arms around his legs before bending his knees.
“ Alright, hold on tight. ” & don’t say I didn’t warn you about it.
1...2...& off they went. A might leap was all it took for them to practically swim through air, a speed quite incredible for someone that was still trying to get the hang of it.
“ Isn’t this great?! ”
He didn’t have to bother looking back to see if he was having a great time or not--he had to be. “ Check this out! ” Still holding him fairly tightly, he made a quick spin like an incoming torpedo, a trick that he proudly mastered in once he learned how to fly.
“ I ENCOURAGE YOU not to DIE … ”
“ Dude, you need to have more faith in me. I’ve done it a thousand times before--this time isn’t any different. So hurry up & get on my back! ”

“Eh…”
How was he not supposed to look at the boy? A living boy here- in the Land of the Dead? Imposible. The living did not journey across the bridge and, though Héctor knew it for a fact, there was no other way to the living world. Horror slowly calming on his faded etched face, the skeleton lifted a hand to adjust his straw hat, the strong wind having blown it sideways. Giving a nervous chuckle, he took a step back in hopes of gaining some space between them. “Oye. I wasn’t being bullied.”
Though, he wouldn’t argue that the help was appreciated. After all, he had won the dinero fairly… enough. “Pero if you want to call it that, then sure. Sí- claro.” Help was help, despite the jarring sight of a living boy. A living boy with some type of power and a heroic attitude. Someone who willingly stepped in to help him, despite not knowing him at all. How far did that help go, he wondered. Thoughts were slow to come to the scrappy soul and, after a moment of muttering, he leaned forward; digits held his chin as he looked over the other, curved finger tapping against his jaw. “Aver… you’re alive. Y you’re here- really here.”
Which meant…
“Epa-! You can help me. Sí sí- perfecto! Listen, chamaco. How did you get here? Do you remember the way you came?”
I guess my pleading just went over his skull.
He supposed he was able to empathize with it...considering he had a good reason to stare at him too. Just like how the other was dead, he was alive, & seeing how the world around here worked, he had assumed only dead people lived here. Oof, hopefully he won’t have to stay around here for too long before he was given a place here.
An awkward smile responded back to him as he insisted that he wasn’t being bullied. Out of curiosity, he wondered if it was because he was shameful to admit it; humans in general were capable of bullying others no matter how old (or dead, in this case) they got, & it was a truth that he had come to embrace. But he didn’t bother asking further details on it, it wasn’t a great topic to discuss about anyway.
“ Yeah, I am- ” Quickly stopping his own sentence, blue eyes widened at the now ecstatic skeleton, in which he began to show doubt in telling him the facts.
“ I guess I just...accidentally flew through an incoming portal? My friend & I were fighting crime one second, & then the next thing I knew, I was here. ” Hand gestures were made as he explained, still feeling rather off about sharing this with someone that he didn’t know. He was told to never give out information (much less communicate) with those he barely knew, & so keeping that in mind, he kept it as vague as possible.
“ But what does any of that matter? Aren’t you supposed to be, um...well, be here instead of anywhere else? I don’t think a skeleton should follow me back to where I came from... ”
Mom wouldn’t be pleased about that at all.

ACT: YOU EQUIPPED BASEBALL BAT
Causing mayhem was never on the top of Frisk’s list.
They were a quiet person that liked to drink tea and read books under the shade of a tree in hot days. They liked hiking and playing hopscotch along the sidewalks. They liked to pet dogs and help people but sometimes those people didn’t realize Frisk was helping them.
They’d marked their target earlier in the afternoon, put a baseball bat near the top of the fire escape, and knew the moment he left it was showtime. Frisk had a feeling in the pit of their stomach he’d disapprove of their plan but Frisk had to do something to either frighten someone enough to call the police or get them out of the building.
If Frisk wanted to make an omelette they had to break a few eggs, or in this case a couple of windows. The baseball bat fit into Frisk’s hands like a glove and they spotted the windows they’d drawn X’s on with their favorite yellow stick of chalk. Apartments they knew to be empty but have neighbors within an earshot to startle them. Frisk moved with precision and knew that if their new party member saw them doing something so chaotic he’d probably think that they had tricked him into causing some mischief which wasn’t true.
Frisk raced down the fire escape and circled to the bottom and chucked it into a backpack Frisk planted near the entrance. Rummaging through it Frisk pulled out the pièce de résistance! A cardboard sign they painted a golden star on with big thick letters that read: DEAR POLICE GET EVERYONE OUT, EVACUATE ME LAST.
Sliding that towards the front window of their target Frisk took a step back pulling their backpack on and hearing the voice of their friend. Relief pooled in Frisk’s stomach and they sighed, Frisk brought their fingers to their lips and let out a shrill whistle.
Waving up at their new friend Frisk smiled, something inside told Frisk that maybe now everything would work out. Hearing the telltale sound of police sirens Frisk motioned down the street to watch and moved outside to the next building to see if everything would pan out.
A loud shattering was heard from the window, & for a second he feared that something had gone amiss. Did something else happen because he stopped the truck? Was that the misfortune that Frisk was talking about earlier, that corruption & mistakes had its way coming around one way or the other? Thus, he made a move for it--until he saw his friend emerging out of the apartment.
“ Frisk! ” Faster & faster, he dashed towards them with a bright smile. He had noticed the backpack that hung behind them, and the bat that poked out of the lid as well. Oh--were they responsible for that?
Police sirens grew louder each passing moment, until it surrounded the premise that they were in before. A lot of commotion could be heard all at once, wondering who was responsible for bringing them all together & why. Now that the explosion was stopped, there had to be a different reason, but they probably could figure that out on their own.
His concern had faded away, & as he finally looked at his partner, he gave them a gentle pat against their back.
“ I guess they’ll be alright now. Nothing bad will happen after this, right? ” Fishing for answers from their expression, he hoped that it was. But the future remained unknown to them; even if they stopped this accident from happening, another chain of events would always be around the corner to emerge.
“ I can’t believe you were able to predict all of that though--are you a psychic or something? ”
Oh man, it’d be sick to have a psychic friend that can help him out on certain stuff (like what score he’d get in social studies in future quizzes, how much laundry he’d have to do for his mom, when Damian will stop being a showoff...).
Kids like them really deserved a sweet treat after crime fighting and stopping bad guys. They said it was on them and slid the sundae cup over to him. However, instead of ice cream it looked like mashed potatoes topped off with gravy.
What a day it had been–certainly that was enough to earn them a treat, right? He had been so excited when the other had seemed to be so earnest about paying for it too. As much as a good child he was, honest & selfless, the temptation was too strong to pass over an opportunity like this.
But once he was given the cup…he only saw disappointment, & it was quite clear behind his glassed features.
“ Oh c’mon, at least put bacon bits on top of it if you’re going to betray me like that. ”
Y'all are all sleeping on how perfect these two panels are

ACT: ENACT YOUR PLAN
He didn’t have to believe Frisk but he did.
Sometimes, when they attempted to warn people either they wouldn’t listen to Frisk because what they said sounded absolutely ludicrous. Sometimes their pleas fell upon deaf ears and the person they attempted to warn responded in a not so nice way but Frisk understood that humans were often afraid of what they didn’t understand. Frisk didn’t want them to be afraid, and the hope that they could all live happily was enough to push Frisk into action.
If there was anybody out there that needed help then Frisk wanted to be the person to reach out to them. If Frisk could help then it all boiled down to they wanted to not for any other reason beyond it was something Frisk could do to help even if it was just a little bit.
“Mmhmm,” Frisk nodded, they were a lot heavier than they looked and when Frisk attempted to move them on their own the construction workers shooed them off. Frisk hadn’t even been able to lift one, but he sure could!
Frisk took his thumbs up as a sign of solidarity and they knocked a closed fist against his own sticking their own thumb up.
It was the first time Frisk had smiled in days. Technically it was since yesterday but it had been over a week. After this, Frisk was definitely going to eat and take a nap. If he had time then maybe Frisk would explain things to him. Clinging to Jon Frisk took in the sensation of not falling with style and found their sense of gravity again.
Glancing back at him they nodded. A little mischief had to be involved with their half of the plan but it would be worth it.
Stick to the plan as much as you can. Be safe, okay?
With that Frisk began to move across the flat top of the building and towards the fire escape. It had taken some time but Frisk was about to become a public nuisance and someone with a functioning phone was about to take care of that.
* ( KNOWING THAT HE’LL HELP YOU FILLS YOU WITH DETERMINATION. )
Compassion was strength, & he could somehow relate to how they were feeling; humans (himself included) were naturally inclined to doubt the unknown, & question about its authenticity until it was proven right before them. Easily, he could have backed out with the lack of proof that the other had, but sometimes he had felt that sentiment was all the proof that he needed to judge an individual.
So far Frisk themselves had proven to be kindhearted, & while the true test would come when the events actually did unravel right before him, he still strongly refused to think that they had ill intentions.
Once the two were aware of the plan, he gave the other a nod before hopping off the building & heading towards the nearby construction site. With the help of his strength & speed, he managed to surround the building with heavy orange cones; now, all he had to do was wait for the said truck.
Minutes passed by before hearing a truck from afar, & picking it up before it went anywhere near the building, he flew over to the sound of it & prayed it was the right one.
“ Hey! Hey! ” Furious knocking were to be heard as he eventually found the vehicle & caught up with it, in which he successfully freaked the driver up before making an abrupt break.
‘What the hell, kid?!’
A sheepish smile mirrored back at the older man, nervously scratching his head as he did his best to somewhat explain the situation. Of course, he had to alter it a bit--in order to not sound like he was making it up (although so far it had been true). He had told the man there was a work site right up ahead, & that it’d be better if he turned around.
After spending another few minutes contemplating his decisions, the other eventually followed through, which left him needing to find Frisk now. Another travel down back to the destined building, he hurried in & looked around, calling their name out from within.
“ Frisk! I did it! Where are you? ”
This boy refuses to swear omg

ACT: PLAN
They’ve stopped the truck before by stupidly stepping in front of it which got the desired result but at the same time the lab still exploded. There was a little less carnage but the result was still the same. A lot of people ended up getting hurt or Frisk got hurt. That was the worst, knowing that they failed because when that happened everything RESET.
Frisk had a feeling that raw strength wouldn’t be enough, that was right.
Frisk was tired of going through this afternoon and evening time and time again. They were tired of feeling the heat of the fire and listening to the same sounds of people calling out. If there was a cry to help then Frisk couldn’t ignore it because they knew how that felt. A pair of quiet lips formed a frown and they kept their hand curled near their mouth as they listened to him and began to formulate their own plans. Taking the truck out of the equation was definitely help.
Over on the next block they have a lot of the big orange construction thingies that go on the road. They’re too heavy for me to lift. Think if we put it in front of the building we can get other people to stay away? If people see those things they try to avoid them and maybe if the truck driver sees them if you knock on his window he’d stop.
Frisk pinched at their chin with their thumb and forefinger. They still needed to get the attention of firemen without their being a fire so they could help. In the meantime they’d have to figure out a way to get people out of there.
Something else was amiss.
Frisk’s hand rested against his forearm briefly in a soft act of solidarity. They typed out on their phone quickly.
Thank you for believing in me.
Frisk knew that the accusations must have sounded totally nuts but knowing that at least one person believed in them and wanted to help, it was more than Frisk could ever hope for.
* ( YOU ARE FILLED WITH FAITH. )
Frisk checked the clock on their phone. Nine minutes.
The front of the truck’s yellow and it has the big silver gas container on the back. Think you can put me on the other roof?
He could already hear Damian telling him how easy he was falling for vague predictions that had yet to happen, & although that certainly was a very valid point for anyone to say, a part of him saw the good in people--& wanted that to prevail. His father had always advised him that not everyone had evil intentions, that the world wasn’t exactly as black & white as many had claimed it to be. So, he wanted to trust Frisk. Why? Because it was optional.
“ Do you mean those big orange cone things right over there? ”
He pointed at the objects just to make sure, & as he listened to the plan, there was a slight nod made.
“ We’ll give that a shot then. ” A pause. They thanked him for believing in them, & although it was a simple ‘thank you’ made, it swelled his heart up. It was incredible how much genuineness could overflow through two words, & it gave him all the more motivation to not screw up.
His smile beamed at them, lifting a hand up to give them a proud thumbs up.
“ You’ve got it. ” Bending his knees, he swept them off of the ground & securely held them in his arms, & within seconds he took several leaps before flying up to the said roof. Placing them down on a safe spot, he gazed below them before focusing back on Frisk.
“ This alright for you? ”
petitprince:
Perhaps it would be too much to say he was curious about all of the games Jon had on his phone? Seeing all of the icons on the screen and knowing that there was more to them by a single touch only piqued his curiosity. But it did make sense to narrow them down by games he favored, if only so the glamour never faded.
“I don’t know any other games like these, just some I make up depending on where I am. I do like games where you get to discover things though, adventures and treasure hunts. Once, my fox couldn’t remember where he had buried an animal he’s killed, so I had to help him look for it and fend off anyone who tried to interfere.” Call him old-fashioned that way.
He was already intrigued by his presence, having come across a child that held so many wonders to every modernized technology around him. Kids at his age nowadays were already advancing with the world around them, but Prince had frankly reminded him of someone that seemed to be a bit behind the times. Ah, it didn’t stop him from trying to get to know him though, in fact he enjoyed teaching him.
“ You had a fox for a friend? ” That was pretty rad on its own, if only he could have some sort of animal companion as well. Contemplating on what would fit close to his description, he began to browse through his own phone, finding an app that might have suited his interest.
“ Okay, so this game is called Temple Run. You don’t exactly find stuff, but it’s kinda like going through an adventure?... ” He wasn’t wrong. “ Basically, you just run away from some angry monkeys & avoid running into walls. It’s sort of intense & you might get angry at it, but it’s pretty fun? ”
@recuerdaxme called for help!
“ Well, I couldn’t just watch you get bullied like that. Good people get involved, ya know? ” A direct quote given by his dad, he found it appropriate to use it under this situation. It was strange how he was talking to someone that seemed dead, but quite wasn’t. He supposed that came with falling into a different universe, a concept that he was vaguely familiar with, though he still was learning how to get used to it.
He had only used his super breath to blow away a couple of skeletons that seemed to gang up on one, & as someone that took action immediately when trouble was spotted in his eyes, he had to. But once he had vacuumed them all away until the one remained, he was given somewhat of a disturbed look, petrified at him.
Nuts.
“ Uhh, but yeah. Could you maybe stop looking at me like that--if you can? It’s not very comforting... ”

ACT: EXPLAIN
Moving to the opposite side of the building Frisk’s slender arm pointed out before them. Across the street is an apartment complex. They’ve gotten to know everybody in that building in some way or another. Understand how they move in and out and while not everybody is there most have just come home only a few hours before or were relaxing. Frisk knew that quite a few were asleep and others were online when they shouldn’t be. The wind playfully whipped at Frisk’s hair and they thumb through their drafts to one text they’ve been saving all day. Handing it over they waited for him to read.
The fire alarm’s faulty in there and the sprinklers are broken I have no idea how that thing is still standing. In about ten minutes, a truck’s going to swerve in that lower apartment there.
Frisk’s already pointing towards the lower left hand apartment just outside the entrance.
It’s a gas truck. I can’t stop a truck and
Frisk had already tried to do that already but it merely crashed into something different. The prevention wrought more havoc when they did it. With Robin’s aid they expected to only help those inside the building but maybe with him they could do a lot more!
that guy is “cooking” so it explodes a lot. The stairs get taken out and the parts that don’t collapse are keeping everybody up top. Before the fireman come it collapses and the people on the lower levels that couldn’t get out
Frisk didn’t like to think about what happened.
you can probably imagine what happens when they don’t. Sometimes when you prevent something bad from happening something else happens instead, it’s usually bad. If the truck’s stopped then maybe something bad still happens with the lab and everything still goes up in flames. Are you up to helping?
Being directed to the main source of what made them called him in the first place, he examined the building that stood tall before him, before reading through the texts & letting the bridge of his nose get scrunched up from the sick feeling in his gut. This was typical hero work, he wasn’t concerned about that, but the fact that they seemed to have predicted the outcome of it didn’t sit well with him.
With a deep inhale, he calmed himself--or at least tried to; he was a hero, & they were relying on his support to hopefully prevent from all of this happening. Yet, it irked him how they finished the text off with this: something bad still happens.
Jon had been taught how gruesome a reality could be when it came to saving those in need; sometimes sacrifices were to be made, but as the stubborn child that he was, he sometimes refused to believe that ideology.
He thought long & hard to think of a plan, & man was it hard to wrap his head around this.
“ So if what you’re saying is all true...then I guess we’ll have to find a way to stop the truck completely. ” Pause. His super strength was still a work in progress, as he was only able to lift cars up--& goodness he had never tried to attempt it on a truck before.
“ I’m all in for it, but...I don’t know if my strength alone will be enough. ” If only he could call his dad--but that would mean his cover would be blown. He put the plan on hold though, just in case he really needed it.
“ Maybe I can try warning the driver beforehand, then it might do something? I can fly to them & give a good knock against their window if they won’t freak out. ” They totally would, he knew already, but it was worth a shot.
petitprince:
Superpower? “I should say not, I can’t read at all. But it’s only colors, so I don’t need–ah!”
Time’s up! The game stopped and no longer was the Prince able to match his animals. Numbers grew, but Prince wasn’t paying much attention to them. He was more concerned about his inability to play anymore!
“What happened? Did I do something wrong?”
Huh, guess he was just naturally good at it...with the colors, as he mentioned. He laughed a bit & shook his head, reassuring him that all was fine.
“ No, you just ran out of time--look, the score is showing up now. ” Wow, just a point away from his score. A pat on the back made, he smiled at him proudly.
“ You did awesome! We should compete against each other sometime if you wanna. ” Helping him exit the app, he wanted to show him so much of what he had on his phone, although it’d take too much time for him to show each one individually.
“ What kind of games do you usually play? Maybe I can show you one that you might really like. ”
