it's kind of a shame that the 10-year long "urobuchi said in an interview that madoka was actually about how young girls are literally terrorists who will be destroyed for their hubris" -> "he really did not say that" telephone game has largely buried any retrospective appreciation of how kind of funny it was that urobuchi did just start rapid-firing his thoughts on american imperialism and its relationship to the motivations behind acts of terrorism and nuclear energy and the y2k panic, which is admittedly all ultimately in service of expressing some pretty normal ideas, while the interviewer barely manages to keep the entire thing on-topic.
