The cardinal sin of the PJO show isn't that it's inaccurate (though it certainly is), or that it's clearly written to make Percabeth stans cream their fucking pants (though it certainly is), or even that it makes pretty much every single character entirely unrecognisable by stripping away many of their complexities and either adding or removing flaws as needed, while inexplicably grasping for cheap melodrama about how "the gods are the REAL monsters" and "monsters are good guys actually" (though it absolutely does).

No, its cardinal sin is that it's just... boring. The visual design is bland, the direction is weak, the acting is inconsistent, and the writing insists on stripping every possible sense of tension and intrigue out of every situation the second it gets raised, with every major mystery solved as soon as they possibly could be.

It's not a good adaptation, but worse, it's not even a good show by its own merits.
