 hey there! Im Tobin Dove from Torren, and I study delta pokemon for a living!

general :

- most headcanons are based by actual animal biology, or personal headcanons of mine !

- I also accept normal pokemon questions, since Im unsure how many people know of the fangame “Pokemon Insurgence” . I do recommend it, its free to download on computer!

- in general for legendaries, as all legendaries are present in Torren, you may ask questions but cannot own legendaries.

also , a less important fact, but my team!

I own a delta charizard (ghost dragon) and dwebble (cake/fairy normal) , a pringplup and a feraligatr ! I technically also have a rotom, but they like to stay in my watch most times.

I just recently got a Delta Bulbasuar and was wanting to know how I could care for one or if it’s just as similar as the standard Bulbasuar?

ahh, i greatly apologize for taking a long time to get to you. I've been quite busy. yes, the caring for the delta bulbasaur line is slightly different than their normal grass relatives. specifically for delta bulbasaur, care doesn't vary too greatly. if you have a male its recommended to groom and keep clean the gems he has, though the one on his back isnt much a worry. this is the same for females, but females lack the vines males have. you still have to water your bulbasaur though, as the cover around their crystal is still plant matter.

ivysaur doesn't have much caring differences besides more frequent watering, but venusaurs cares are somewhat different.

you need to clean your venusaurs crystal daily to avoid grime and dirt, and your watering rate should increase more. its recommended to avoid cleaning the gem on their face though unless youre very careful, as the slighest nick or smudge could throw a venasaurs psychic powers off. try to avoid a certain gem loving gremlin being around your venusaur though, as they are known to try and break the crystal on venusaurs back. less importantly, please do not shave your female venusaurs 'clouds'. it can hurt them.

(ooc rambling from me playing the game: if you plan to play, get lots of pokeballs. I say this because it took me eight pokeballs to catch a totodile (who is now a feraligatr), and when I tried to catch a charmander (non-delta) I ran out of pokeballs. also, i accidentally killed delta aipom the first time i fought it instead of catching it, but thank god i saved beforehand. save before trying to catch stationary pokemon (pokemon that are visible on the map), or ones that have trigger responses (like aipom or rotom)

Heres my delta Charmeleon, lovingly named bones! Hes a bit sour from being suddenly woken up to have a picture taken, but hes generally a very sweet Pokemon!

What makes deltas different from other variants I'm confused

type changing, and in the case of here (torren/pokemon insurgence), they look greately different! you could technically say they are a regional varient to torren, but thats not the case for all of the deltas. we put them into a type category because unlike normal region variants, like, oh, galarian darmanitan, which changes from fire to ice (which can naturally occur) or alolan raichu, who gains a type, deltas are greatly changed from their original forms. take the delta shinx line. they go from being fully electric types to dual steel/poison types, which can't happen naturally. they we're artificially created by the perfectionist cult. not all deltas are created artificially, like delta grimer, but they only naturally occur in torren.

just because you can eat the regular counterpart of a pokemon, does not mean that its delta form is edible too.

do you know any delta pokemon that could be valid trans mascots?

hm.. thats a tricky question. I may not be cis, but that doesn’t mean I'm too smart with trans coding pokemon. perhaps the delta karrablast line? they have a rather “girly” feeling to them, but are still quite often male.

well.. we still aren’t sure whats happening, but I’ll keep telling you guys about deltas. delta typhlosion are the only known delta pokemon who’s mega evolution changes depending on weather. if they have the ability supercell and its raining or incredibly dark, typhlosion has been observed changing to their active form to take advantage of the weather and provide light for their trainer.
