Poor baby is in horse jail because she somehow managed to slice her leg somewhere on the pasture. No idea how, nobody was able to find anything sharp anywhere and we checked literally everywhere.

I can’t believe we were the only ones to go out to the field. Yes it was bitter cold, but look at how beautiful everything was.
bubs is my little winter warrior. Blizzard napping is so much more comfortable than napping in the comfort of the shelter
Winter on the farm.
I made a quiz for horsetistics who love torturing themselves :3
I updated the quiz to tell you what breed the horse is an how to recognize it :)
#WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TYPES OF KNABS
I have no idea, none of the breed sites seem to explain it, but there's the Classic, the Sport, the Pony, and the Mini
Also, fun fact about the Knabstrupper: They can be any color, including solid. The only colors not allowed are pinto and grey. However, two solid horses aren't allowed to be bred together. All solid horses must be bred to appaloosa colored horses. These are all registered Knabstruppers:
Huh I knew of the classic and sport types, but never heard of the minis (or the ponies, but those don't surprise me as much).
There's also the variant of fewspots/whiteborn! Talisi is a baroque type.
Since it's getting too hot to do anything here in the valley I'm sending my horses on holidays on the mountain pasture this weekend, where they will stay until August or even September, depending on the temperatures.
These days our job is going on trail rides with young horses to show them that they don't need to be afraid of anything.
Weird angle, but here's the new old saddle! It's so comfortable! Seco is looking pissed because I didn't allow him to stop to snack on the grass, but he also seems to like this saddle better than the old one.
Jenny, 7 year old Haflinger mare.
So shiny he looks like he's made of plastic.
An interesting fact about Isai is that she had an accident as a yearling where she tripped and fell badly while playing with other horses out in the field. She ended up with a deep cut right above her left front hoof and she bit off a chunk of her own tongue. She recovered well from everything, but the injury on her leg still affects the way her hoof grows, which means she needs a tighter farrier schedule than the average horse. Due to her missing half of her tongue I only ride her bitless. She also needs more frequent dental work than other horses. My farrier always brings out his students to show them her hoof and how to work with a case like that.
I'm getting a new saddle for Secolo again. We were really happy with the western saddle, but the car crash I was in six months ago has left me with a limited range of motion, and I'm just not strong enough to lift this saddle on his back anymore. My trainer has kindly allowed me to use one of her lighter trekking saddles since I've started to ride again, and now she offered to sell it to me. I put the western saddle up for sale today, and once I get the money for it I will buy the saddle from my trainer. I hope this will be the end of the saddle odyssey.
Squish the Amba nose for good luck. 🍀

Polymer clay portraits available at cost of materials for a limited time. I’m still learning and I’d love to do your horse
Had the shortest trail ride ever get cut short due to the rain. The rainbow above her ears made up for it. She's been wanting to ZOOM with me these past few weeks!
