did a little cleansing bath the other night for my birthday/new moon!! so lucky that my bday lined up with this phase, I felt like the new moon was perfect for this new part of my life.

not super aesthetic, but it felt lovely. also got to hang out with my new amethyst, labradorite, and howlite (my fave!!)

random q if anyone wants to chat, how do you all approach fire safety in witchcraft? id love to anoint my candles and such, but I'm so scared of them catching fire (in a bad way lol).

i was just given the most beautiful labradorite from the owner of my local metaphysical shop 🥹 (to the left of the middle tealight). it was from her personal collection and she said it looked like I needed it. actively choosing not to cleanse because I feel the care with which it was chosen has energy I'd like to keep around. one day I will pass it forward.

one of the most magical things to me are the relationships we build with the people around us. we were there because my friend was delivering bread to all the business owners in the area. she has such a way with people, I aspire to be as kind and welcoming as her. i love my kooky little town! 🌓✨✨

well....didn't realize money bowls could also be used to predict events lmao

last night the flame kept going out on its own and we had to relight it several times. same thing this morning.

just got my work schedule for my new job. first of all, not enough hours. secondly, the few hours I do have are in the middle of the day, where id have to Uber (which costs more than the shift pays) and my fiance and roommate wouldn't be available to take me.

at least I was prepared, thanks to the money bowl telling me something was up.

don't know yet what I'm gonna do, other than hope some shifts open up

updated money bowl! i thrifted a new bowl that I think is absolutely perfect for this. i used rice, salt, mint, cinnamon, chamomile, common sage, cloves, citrine, quartz, goldstone, and tigers eye. plus of course coins and bills! and an antique key to represent the house.

my roommate, fiance, and I have all been adding coins and bills each day to encourage abundance (though I think I may be the only one who really believes in it, I still appreciate their support!)

id love to make some more friends on here, I'm still pretty new to tumblr, although I've had this account for forever.

edit: forgot one of the ingredients! I also used cleavers, for "stickiness" :)

I think the money bowl is working! my roommate/friend got some great tips today at work, and I finally got some projects for my freelance work.

think im going to refresh it on thursday, to make sure the vibes don't go stale.

Witch tip: Another way to use scraps is to dry your used teabags:

Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.

Carefully open the bag (some tea brands will just unfold, others will need to be cut).

Evenly spread the contents out, either on the bag itself or on a plate.

Then let them dry in a sunny dry place (you may need to agitate them once or twice to ensure even drying).

Once dry, store them for later use in spells.

Bonus tip: You can also save the dried bags and reuse them as a small biodegradable spell packet or as quick burning petition papers.

*Please make sure the bags are biodegradable and not plastic (thanks @scrap-weaver for pointing this out in the tags).

oils made! they've been sitting for a few days now, I think I'll let them sit for a week or so to infuse fully. I'm planning on using them for ritual work and anointing candles.

left to right:

prosperity - cinnamon, mint, chamomile, some crystals. NOT skin safe because I put malachite in it 😞 i forgor. oh well, just for candles then! wishbone charm for luck

love - rose, hibiscus, lavender, orange and jasmine oils, rose quartz

protection - rosemary, sage, cinnamon, quartz, obsidian

i don't remember all of the herbs in each of them (i personally like to use a lot) so these aren't comprehensive recipes. I used jojoba oil for all of them because it's easy to get. also they're all sitting on a selenite crystal for cleansing

im a new/returning witch and ive been slowly doing more to bring myself back in. witchcraft used to bring me so much joy, i cant believe i ever stopped.
