my hands are cold, my fingers feel numb, breathing is hard, i think i might throw up & my chest hurts. i might also burst into tears at any given moment. THEREFORE, i am gone. i have a personal blog ( that i sometimes use when i’m not distracted ) & its @nagaikeis, i’ll be there indefinitely.

the hand around his throat tightened with a significant hold, a brief lapse in oxygen to his lungs had his eyes swimming with hazy focus; yet the grip wasn’t strong enough to choke nor break, but succeeded in lifting his body inches from the ground below his feet. the tips of his toes skimmed the concrete as his legs dangled — he could kick out, but it’d be in vain.

the gash across his forehead throbbed, droplets of warm crimson seeping down into what remained clear of his vision, but still his features cast a grin back in defiance. his hands moved to wrap fingers around the vampire’s wrists, thumbs digging into where cold veins travelled below the flesh & squeezed.

as expected, the action had little affect but it was all the retaliation he could muster, ❛ don’t underestimate me, vampire! ❜ he dropped a hand down to his side, fingers fumbling for a hold on the handle of his weapon still strapped to his back, cold metal a welcome feel against his numbing fingertips. if he slipped his eyes closed, it was there, the vast expanse of his inner world as he’d come to form it; & within that world he shared with his partner, GENBUSHIN.

i’ve just spent the past half hour doing nothing but browsing narumi’s search on tumblr & let me just tell you all some things:

narumi is strict but his strictness comes from how deeply he cares. he is the squad mum, he loves each member of his squad like family. he may seem like an ass, he might shout & be rough & call people names. but he’d die for any of them without a second thought.

affection makes him weak. give this boy affection & that cool persona will drop in a heartbeat. you will have a mess of blushing tsun tsun on your hands. but he sure as hell deserves affection so give him lots to make him warm & fuzzy.

yuu is probably one of the most important people to him now. yuu has proven to narumi on many occasions that he’s not some weak ass kid aiming too high, but he actually means everything he does, therefore narumi has mad respect for yuu. that being said, yuu does annoy narumi & narumi will kick his ass for it. he’s stricter with yuu more than anyone else because he believes its his duty as an elder member of the squad to ensure yuu’s safety given yuu being a seraph.

narumi is actually a large scale dork & he actually believes his jokes are funny, even if they’re honestly just really bad & embarrassing & often somewhat insulting.

if dogs & cats were still around, he’d be a doggo person!!

the more he takes a liking to mika, the worse he feels about himself because hatred of vampires has been ingrained into him from a young age. he feels that having mika become a comrade would be a betrayal, but at the same time he’s conflicted because he knows that mika is an important person to the squad who used to suffer just like them.

the vampire’s concern was mildly unwelcome, something unused to, something he didn’t think he’d like to get used to — but he came to rest against mikaela’s shoulder regardless. his legs felt heavier, his arms refused to move & instead swayed battered, bruised against his side; their display of mottled blues & purples matching those beginning to blossom across his features. his vision blurred at the edges, things & people alike both shifting into, then out of focus. bodies littered this recent battleground, some already passed & some still calling out in garbled voices but there was little to be done anymore.

hiding behind a lock of dishevelled hair lay a set of deep puncture wounds at this throat. at his wrist were lasting marks of restraint from chain rubbed raw at his flesh. he would say this would be the one & only time he’d play decoy for the squad, but if it meant they’d be given another chance to succeed, he’d probably go through this all over again in a heartbeat.

& if the scent of lingering, drying blood bothered the vampire by his side, he couldn’t care less, ❛ i’ll be fine, just keep walking. ❜ if it was just the beating he’d be able to do more for himself but blood loss brought about a lightheaded daze; he could feel sharp twinges deep within his bones that showed signs of being broken, his lungs ached with chest bruising & exertion laced together. somewhere in his clouded thoughts there bubbled an intense anger at his comrades, but that anger didn’t reach his voice & instead his tone was more matter of fact when he spoke.

❛ you shouldn’t have come back for me, that was the whole point. i bet that idiot YUU had something to do with this. ❜

the glare he casts is narrowed, dark & unforgiving; the memory of recent destruction leaving bitter traces, prompting words to form with little thought necessary — as if there were any other way to put forward his response. ❛ he’s the enemy, simple as that. ❜ & while he currently keeps company with more vampires than he’d care to admit ( ideally none would have been nice ) it wouldn’t change the fact that he sees them as nothing more than predators.

he takes a steady intake of breath as he tries to find the right words to describe how he feels toward the man. none of them pretty, lacking the respect that was once there, ❛ he’s not the man i thought he was. ❜ he begins, keeping his gaze steady with the resolve of all that he wishes to convey. in his head there’s a list but it gets jumbled on the way out — the words get bitten back, rethought & he regulates with a sigh. the vocabulary at the forefront of his assault is full of nothing but childish insults ready to be hurled. son of a bitch, bastard, piece of shit; but he reigns them in because no, he was better than that. better than having to resort to petty swearing that couldn’t even begin to put across how he truly felt.

his gaze steeled, a hand on his hip & the other in a fist at his side. swallowing down what remained of his insolence & poor tact, for the lives that his squad lay down, he let his truths rage unabashed. ❛ i don’t trust him. a man that cuts down his own comrades isn’t someone i consider respecting. i’m not interested in his reasons or excuses, but how are we supposed to believe in someone that does nothing but lie? ❜

as he speaks his tone grows harsher, takes on a bitter edge, ❛ is he going to bring my friends back? at what cost? any type of plan he has that rides on the back of my comrades lives, isn’t one i chose to put my faith in! until i know where his loyalties lie, i want nothing to do with him. ❜

he smiles with fondness when thinking of his fellow soldier, thinking back to when they first met & the opinions he had formed too readily. he had once thought of yoichi as meek, small & far too naive to do well on the battlefield — but the kindness the boy carried, the strength in his resolve had been a quick game changer. where he once thought yoichi was meek, he was actually strong willed. where he deemed him as small it was made up for in both speed & dexterity; & as for being naive, weren’t they all at some point or another?

the smile he held fades into something more light of heart as he picks his words with meaning, because despite all the ways he might tease or come off as too much, the regard in which he holds the squad is always high. ❛ i’m lucky to fight alongside him. ❜

his expression darkened, frown deepening in a fierce display of anger that he rarely shows — if it were anyone else, anyone at all then he wouldn’t be reacting so rashly. but its because of who it is that he finds himself marching forward, quickly closing the short space between them both & grabbing yuuichirou by the collar. teeth grind as he bares them, his knuckles whitening with their hold as he mentally stumbles over which words to use in retort.

when words finally find him, they’re bitter & nearing the edge of something just a little too emotional for his current state to deal with, ❛ pity? where the hell do you get off thinking i pity you? ❜ with maybe a little more roughness than was needed, he releases yuuichirou’s collar with a shove & turns. there’s an angry prickling at his tear ducts but he fights it back with blinking force. ❛ you’re not the only one who lost their family. grow up. ❜
