“It’s alright, I know it wasn’t your fault. I’m sorry.”
This wasn’t the first time a supply run had last longer than expected and Maggie knew it wouldn’t be the last. However, on those runs they were almost always together. Any insistence from the brunette normally wearing down on her husband until the man gave up his protests. Except the times when they were afraid of what they were risking and Maggie was more willing to stay behind. Brows creased in worry, green eyes searching for a sign of something wrong to quickly locate the dark stain on his shirt.
“What happened?”
No time was spent waiting for his answer, the distance between them was closed with a single step. Fear clenched its cold fingers around her belly, sending an icy chill through her veins and immediately drying out her mouth. Every wound was a risk. Infection was no longer easy to stop. And until the Greene saw her husband’s injury a lingering horror that it had been caused by one of the undead would remain. She should have been there. Not all things were avoidable, but this could be something that her presence would have prevented. Gentle hands carefully tugged at damaged fabric in an attempt to get a better look at what was hidden underneath. Not a bite, one look made that clear enough in an instant, but possibly still a danger to Glenn. Logic would have told her the spread out marks could possibly have been left by the nails of a walker and yet she couldn’t stop herself from asking.
“These aren’t—they weren’t left by nails were they?”
Fatigued gaze locked upon her elegant features as if every shift in expression proved essential factors for the continuation of his very existence, structured jaw flexing in an outward indication of his guilt in regards to causing her such notable concern, the skilled runner nodded mutely in acceptance of her apology; mocha infused hues rife with affection regardless of the circumstances they found themselves within, deep set brow furrowed with an air of indisputable DISCOMFORT. It wasn’t entirely uncommon for a supply run to take longer than planned, however the recent influx in losses they’d suffered at the hands of both the living and the dead had succeeded in setting everyone on edge. The urge to prevent further heartache, to protect what it was they had left, that which had rapidly INFECTED the remnants of a once sizable community. He’d pleaded with her to stay behind, to sit this one out, his own unrelenting fear of losing her having propelled him into action. However, standing before her and playing witness to the flurry of emotions that emanated from her form in merciless waves presented itself as almost adequate in inducing regret within the ruffled haired male; if she’d been there, she wouldn’t have been feeling so helpless. If she’d been there, maybe his injury could’ve been evaded.
Pain coursed through a system on its last legs with every passing moment, slender palms unsteady where they remained at his sides as thick crimson oozed from his side to imprint itself within the fabric of his tattered shirt, a jolt of second-hand emotion searing through the center of his chest as his wife caught a GLIMPSE of the stain forming upon his piece of attire; words failing him, although she hardly gave him chance to respond to her inquiry.
Be it the way of the world they now found themselves a part of, or a testament to how attuned they’d become as a couple, the Rhee male knew the thoughts that were swirling through the brunette’s consciousness long before her voice was caressing his senses once more; the ever present threat of infection, of becoming one of them, becoming irreparably lost, a devil upon each of their backs. Even in the absence of a bite, it was unlikely he’d find himself out of the woods. The lack of sterilization within their environment leaving him susceptible to other forms of bacteria, every second that ticked by in which he was a victim of an exposed wound, increasing the probability of him getting sick; or a simple ‘graze’ transforming into something fatal. Nostrils flared beneath the weight of a SHARP inhale as her careful motion of peeling back some of the blood soaked cotton sent pinpricks of agony through his veins, handsome attributes contorted with displeasure and although he was hardly squeamish when it came to gore given
all he’d lived through, Glenn found himself turning his head away from severed flesh; toned abs
convulsing as his stomach churned.
“It wasn’t a Walker. I cut through a hole in some chain-link fencing to get away from a group of them and got caught on the edge of it… It was this or- It could’ve been worse okay? Don’t worry yourself over this.”
My brain is just sitting here looking at drafts and wants to be on another account rn, so for the time being, replies will have to wait. I owe: heroictragedies, withusnow & ericrailey responses which should be done at some point this week. Thanks for your patience.
‘No. I’m SAVING you.’
;;Theme Update
Woah, I haven’t been here on Glenn as I’ve been on my oc and patiently awaiting replies (I didn’t want to start new things in case I ended up with way more things than I can handle) and I’ve gained fifty followers despite inactivity?? You’re all wonderful omg.
Went to bed feelin’ fine, woke up feelin’ like death. Jfc everything hurts. I really wanted to get things done today due to being at work the weekend (which usually means a major drop in activity lbr), but idk :|. It’s already 4pm, but we’ll see.
Are you Glenn Rhee af? [insp]
TWD Picspam → Glenn Rhee (Season 5)

☼ Beth;;
The attack had come on suddenly. There wasn’t any time for her to process where the group had scattered. She just ran. As far away from the threat as possible. Her knife clutched in her hand, she dug it deep into the skulls of any walker in her path to freedom. Rick’s voice barely registered as it shouted out directions on where to meet. The only thing her mind was focused on was getting to safety. And that’s exactly what she was doing.
Branches scratched at her skin as she fled through the woods. Her lungs burned. Her legs ached, but still she ran. She ran until her body refused to go any further. Pausing to try and catch her breath long enough to keep going, footsteps pounded against the ground behind her. Human, not the familiar shuffle of a walker. They were footsteps that belonged to something living.
She readied herself for a fight. As much as she could with her strength faded from the flee. When she felt the hands on her shoulders, Beth whipped her head around fully intending to rid herself of this obstacle, until she saw his eyes and heard his voice. It took only moments to figure out what he was saying. ‘Back to the others.’ They weren’t the only ones who’d made it out. She was thankful for the news and knew they couldn’t waste any time doing so. They needed to move. And they needed to do it now. A slight nod of her head showed her agreement and she relaxed the tension that had run through her body.
“I’m fine. You?”
He wasn’t entirely sure when exactly it’d started to rain, consciousness purely focused upon the task of catching up with the blonde before she could make it too far into the thick vegetation to ever be reunited with their group; darkness and the ever present threat of the dead separating factors for their family, Glenn was all too aware of. But as the blazing fire of danger and an instinctive urge to flee faded into nothing more than a sturdy ember, the dark haired male became all too aware of the icy droplets of water that descended to seep into the clothes upon his back; the addition of an infrequent breeze, chilling him to the very bone.
Torso heaving beneath the weight of his scramble to regain composure after an unanticipated bout of exertion, nimble fingertips curling against Beth’s thinly veiled flesh, the skilled runner disbanded the congregation of moisture that’d formed within the back of his throat with a bob of his Adam’s apple, raindrops trailing down the sides of chiseled attributes to leave glistening trails within their wake. She was okay and the wave of unparalleled relief that engulfed him in a manner akin to a familiar embrace proved adequate in reinforcing the notion that his split second decision to leave the side of his beloved Maggie in favor of going after her sister had been the right call; her words offering a reassurance that could not be found with the use of sight, for cloud cover and the lateness of the hour granted them with little in the way of illumination.
An almost imperceptibly brief upturn of lips, a step backwards to once again respect her personal space and Glenn was detaching chilly palms from the young woman in favor of shrugging his moisture clad jacket from his form; him casting all potential objections she’d offer to the wind as he moved to drape the body warmed piece of attire over petite shoulders.
“I’m okay. Come on, let’s head towards the main highway and find the others.”
ღ Temptress;
( survivxristic clicked on the ❤ )
Katherine heard the footsteps, heard him enter the bathroom. She grinned, knowing that he had no idea that she was inside. She could only imagine how he’d react.
❝ Wash my back? ❞
She called out, tone as innocent as she could manage, going from a grin to a gleeful smirk in two seconds flat.
The first indication of someone else occupying the spacious bathroom came in the form of a feminine tone calling out the last request he imagined would ever be offered up in his direction; a previously slumbering form having completely overlooked the gentle sound of running water.
Lips parting almost comically in a state of incomparable shock, a fleeting thought to how grateful he was she couldn’t see his expression barreling through the forefront of his consciousness, Glenn hesitantly made his way towards the veil that separated the room from the enclosed shower; lithe digits extending to pull back the curtain just enough to catch a glimpse of dark locks.
Dressed in little more than a pair of loose fitting sweatpants, the young male crumbled beneath the weight of furrowing brows; handsome attributes tilting to accompany deep hues that willed themselves to remain solely fixed upon her physicality from the shoulders, up.
❝Are you being serious? Or is this a cruel attempt at toying with me? ❞
❃ Judith;
although she was shaking from FEAR, and it was pretty obvious, the girl still managed to give glenn a shake of her head. she didn’t want to hold him back, if he stayed near her, he could easily get shot or something WORSE. she shifted her body to where she was in a more comfortable position and her hands gripped onto the gate, looking out at the chaos before them. “NO, glenn ; i appreciate it but i can protect myself. i have been for months now. you need to go find maggie, i’ll go find my dad and carl, alright ? we can’t just sit here, we have to at least GO HELP.”
Heart battering the underside of its INCARCERATION of bone, veins thrumming violently with an overwhelming urgency to act on the ANARCHY that was unfolding before them, the dark haired male allowed dirt smeared digits to roughly rake backwards through unruly locks before seeking out the pistol holstered to his taut side; the need to protect both himself and those he cared about nothing short of CONSUMING. He knew the words that would flee her lips long before her familiar tone caressed keen senses, her ability to protect herself within a cruel world she’d become more than attuned to, that which he indisputably understood; yet, it did little in the way of dousing out his sense of responsibility.A flex of a cut glass jaw, a flash of deep hues to regard the girl who stood beside him although his back remained pressed into the gate she so desperately clutched and the skilled runner was CHOKING beneath the oppression of an adrenaline soaked exhale; his own head executing a motion of disagreement. “Your father will have my head if I let anything happen to you” he articulated, fingertips blindly dancing across his weapon to ensure it was prepped to take aim. “Come with me, we’ll find your dad and Carl, together.” A large portion of his being ached to track down Maggie, to be reunited with his wife, to protect the life they’d built together. But his HUMANITY, that part of his being that held selflessness and the well being of others above his longings, willed him to remain at Judith’s side.
So hold my hand consign me not to darkness.
*Logs onto Glenn to save things in my activity to drafts ‘cos it’s super late so I’m going to attempt to tackle things tomorrow.*
*Does a double-take at my follower count*
