If there happened to be a worst possible moment for Walkers to find their way into the abandoned house the group had been holed up in, the dead of night, certainly had to be it. Most of them had been wrapped up in slumber, Glenn himself upon the very edge of unconsciousness as he lay beside Maggie in the corner of the lounge, Daryl guarding the exits. But what had been a much needed bout of respite, had come crashing down around them before anyone could even begin to understand how their makeshift defenses had fallen; them all having little choice but to fight their way out and run to something akin to safety.
In the midst of all manner of commotion, the dark haired male had been parted from his girlfriend and the majority of their group, a flash of blonde making a beeline for a nearby stretch of woodland having caught his attention but not before he’d heard Rick’s cry for them all to reassemble upon the stretch of highway they’d found the residential area whilst traveling along.
Booted feet colliding with fallen branches at an elevated pace, trusty knife clasped within his slender palm to accompany every slither of consciousness set on locating Beth, it didn’t take long for the skilled runner to hone in on Maggie’s sister even with the hindrance of darkness; the pair of Walkers she was defending herself against threats which he took out from behind with a cluster of forceful slashes of his weapon, the stench of rotting flesh dancing atop the evening’s chilly breeze.
A steadying inhale, a swipe of his blade across the a denim clad thigh to rid it of its crimson hue and he was closing all manner of distance between himself and the blonde without a shred of hesitation; steady hands shifting up to rest atop her slender shoulders, a flex of his palms executing what he hoped would be a reassuring squeeze as he locked mocha orbs against her vibrant hues.
“Hey, hey... Beth- you alright? We need to make it back to the others.”
