“I’d hate me too”
PHOTOS BY AUSTEN JUUL HANSEN
In the heartland where rows of crops stretch as far as the eye can see, a young female farmer, deeply rooted in her upbringing, finds herself navigating two worlds that may seem worlds apart. Raised on Jesus, The Torah, and the values of a close-knit community, she cultivates the land by day and disguises herself in an indie band by night, embracing the unexpected blend of her rural roots and unconventional dreams.Tending to the land became a sacred ritual, connecting her to the essence of life. Little did the small town know that beneath the work boots and overalls, a passion for self-expression was waiting to burst forth.
But the stage becomes her canvas, and with each performance, she paints a picture of freedom, embracing both her rural identity and the vibrant hues of her newfound artistic expression.
The dichotomy between the farm and the stage represents the multifaceted nature of her identity, proving that authenticity knows no boundaries.
As the chords of indie rock reverberate, our farmer dreams of a different kind of harvest—the bustling streets of the Big Apple. The city lights beckon her with promises of new adventures, artistic exploration, and a chance to share her unique story with the world. It's a dream that seems distant from the tranquil fields, yet the yearning for growth and discovery propels her forward.
As she strums her guitar under the starlit sky, dreams of the big apple twinkling in her eyes, our farmer encourages us all to cultivate our own paths, unafraid to let the diverse facets of our identity bloom. After all, in this vast landscape of life, it's the unexpected symphony of our individuality that creates a melody worth dancing to.
HATING IS A SIN // BUT I HATE YOU SO MUCH
Someone’s red Chevy coming headfirst at 3AM
the moon looks dimmer as the headlights start closing in
You hunt me cause im a tease
you want to hang me as your trophy
You failed with your hands so you kiss killer machines
hit me on the highway, curse at god for your new truck
Hating is a sin but I hate you so much
antlers twisted
gross reflection looking back at me
Father forgive me for staining these new leather seats
You blast the radio real loud
Sing about $€x and blood
Make your boys proud
