Happy Halloween! 🎃 House built in 1826. https://instagr.am/p/CVtQif4PzlP/

The Rollin Furbeck House (1897), by Frank Lloyd Wright. This house was a wedding gift from Furbeck’s parents. Furbeck’s brother George had previously also commissioned a Wright house (see two photos back on my feed). I am curious too: did George have to pay for his? Please tell me if you know 😆 https://instagr.am/p/CVY-YaZlPrZ/
This house was made for Halloween 🍂🎃 https://instagr.am/p/CVRbRejB680/
The George Furbeck House (1897) was one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s first applications of plate glass. It also plays with octagons, much like Wright’s own Home & Studio. The porch was enlarged and enclosed in 1922. https://instagr.am/p/CVMXPb2r_pi/
The Union Pacific Depot in Park City (1886). Noted at the time as “modern and tasteful and brilliant yellow.” 💛 https://instagr.am/p/CVJALx4Fb7Q/
Tudor Revival is always a good decision. https://instagr.am/p/CUbIloDFJX-/
When you ask Frank Lloyd Wright to remodel your house, 1906 edition. The Hills-DeCaro House. Fun fact: Nathan Moore, owner of the adjacent Wright house, had this remodel done as a wedding present for his daughter, Mary. https://instagr.am/p/CUV67sZlHuo/
The most amazing chimney & the prettiest gate. At the Norman Smith House by Graham, Anderson, Probst and White (1927). https://instagr.am/p/CTu4MmHlNb9/
Starting to feel like fall is coming in Oak Park 🍃 pictured: the Jewell House, built in 1906 and designed by E. E. Roberts https://instagr.am/p/CTpJA1YLa2W/
The William E. Martin House (1903) by Frank Lloyd Wright. https://instagr.am/p/CSAWpL-l_Ax/
The Harry C. Goodrich House (1895), by Frank Lloyd Wright, is an early design of Wright’s but hints at the Prairie style to come with its strong horizontal lines. https://instagr.am/p/CR5A7Gcj_6f/

Back to exploring historic houses 👏 The Winchester House (built starting in 1884) was opened to the public in 1923, just five months after Mrs. Winchester’s death. That makes its history as a tourist attraction nearly a century in comparison to the 40 years Mrs. Winchester lived here! The architectural details are amazing. https://instagr.am/p/CRXzJgEDxOr/
