Very grateful for the systems that I have in place. Last week was so difficult for me. I didn't stop, but if I had had to do as much as I typically would have needed, I probably would have collapsed rather than recovered.
What helps me when I am struggling?
An adaptive schedule built with: - Time blocking and understanding my time windows. - Batching work so that the things I need to do or publish are done, if not mostly completely, in advance. - Project Audit that lets me map out project parts in advance so that when I have the capacity to do more tasks in certain groups, I can, and when I can't, I can do something that matches my energy.
I did push myself, but only where I could stretch, not where I would fall.
Mornings are hard...
This isn't a journal are anything, but broskies, mornings are not my jam. Some of you may know that I teach about adaptive scheduling. Well, I have done two things. Since I split my days as a writer (making tools and resources for ND productivity and writing fiction), I was trying to figure out where to add in some extra self-study. I am always learning something, but a friend and I have provided each other with a fix. She needed a body double to help her stay on track with writing, and I needed a way to push myself out of my schedule a few times a week to give myself more hours without murdering my health. Introducing morning sessions. She's a mom, and I am child-free. Her only free time is after she drops her kids off at school, so we are doing a private body-doubling session twice a week. I can read, write, or study during this time because it's still quiet and slow. This is part of what I mean when I talk about social support.

Happy New Year Everyone.
I am still in my recovery period after the holidays, but I will be back to work next Monday. Monday 1/05/26 - There will be a CPH available for paid subscribers. Monday 1/12/26 - There will be a CPH and then in the evening CST (UTC-6) we have a CoAc event.
🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 It's important to get to know your nervous system so that you can pre-plan. I don't do well with the holidays and prefer to not participate in many events or travel. This year we did decide rather last minute to travel. So to accommodate our arrangements and my needs I came up with a list of the all of the task that needed to be down so that I could have a week to prep for the trip, a full vacation week, and a recovery week. It ended up being a 20 point list (excluding the subtask for each of the points). I then broke those down by thing that absolutely needed to be done, and things I could probably get away with pushing off until I return. I gave myself one month and a half to finish the list. I got all of the important things and a few last minute things done as well, giving me several weeks to rest and recover in the various ways I needed. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
As noted in the my resolutions post last year and my "Living This Life With Intentions" posts released on Patreon today, I don't really do resolutions. Goals and resolutions are not always the same thing. I think it is great that people are motivated to make changes, but I also hope that they will make sustainable changes that don't wreck them and that they can build consistency around. I hope you all make changes and plans to push you forward in life. Plans that help you Create Your Life's Design as well as, apply sustainable and productive systems to help you with your goals. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 I want to present some of my goals to you that are personal, but also intrinsically tied to LR SWB.
I still have anxiety. Probably will always have an anxiety disorder. This year there are several areas that I want to be brave with because I believe I understand the root of the anxiety other than my stretched nervous system or have found ways to help balance the anxiety. I'll test this new information throughout the year.
I am going to learn more about video editing. I will be doing more video and audio versions of existing and new content in the LR SWB archive, so I need to learn some different tools to use than the ones I have been using.
I have two certifications I want to renew. One of them involves the type of testing that triggers my testing anxiety. So I will be preparing for that.
I also want to increase people's participation in my Coaction and Accountability (CoAc) virtual coworking events. Which means I have to be braver talking about it.
Some of these goals you will see me working on during CoAc and CPH work sessions. L+L, Shalyse 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 Watch the 'Your Notion Admin Center' video.

Hi friend, I know you are exhausted. I know it feels like everything is weighing you down. I know it feels like you will never get anything done. Take a breath with me. In 1-2-3-4-5. Out 1-2-3-4-5. In, again 1-2-3-4-5. Out, again 1-2-3-4-5. Now, name one thing you can do in this moment to understand where your time goes. That one little thing is a step toward progress and building sustainable time management skills. Hope this helps, Shalyse
