Black women: *struggles with beauty representation due to the image of European Beauty Standards* *Mocking of blackface/features from Jim Crow Law* *Was banned from integrating in beauty pageants with white women and had their own beauty pageants shut down* *Was put in zoos to be harassed, exposed, and degraded by white people* *Struggles to find baby/barbies dolls in their image because there’s nothing but white dolls* *Saw nothing but white Disney Princesses up until a couple of years ago* *White women appear in beauty/fashion ads, magazines, beauty products, Hollywood films, movies, shows, books everywhere, all the time* *Black women were oppressed for being themselves and had to go through assimilation such as skin bleaching and chemically hair straightening to be accepted in society’s standards* *dehumanization of black women/people for hundreds of years. Such as being called monkeys, compared to animals, being called manly/masculine, used as alligator bait, and much more animal like experiences* *Have to uplift themselves because everyone is brainwashed by European Beauty Standards and finds black women the most unattractive* Black women: *Makes posts that FINALLY supports and uplifts black girls on their own* Black girls are so beautiful! White women: “DoN’t YoU MeaN ALL WoMEN??? WERe ALL BeAuTifUL! BlACk GiRLs thInK they’re BetTeR thAn EvERyOne. ThIs PoSt iS sO RacIst!”
