Remus was trying to tie a cloth around his own wounded arm, he looked around to see if anyone was watching before quickly using wandless magic to secure the makeshift bandage.

He sat just inside the alley as he tended to the smaller scratches haphazardly. He was sore and exhausted, just wanting to go to sleep.

Afternoon sunlight barely peaking between silver clouds, Susumu was glad classes was over for the day. Well, to be exact, he was starving since he had to skip lunch for a lab practical. Who schedules that around lunch time? Miffed, the dark-haired student had every intention of hitting up the cafeteria until he passed an alley with someone in it. Susumu paused in his trekking. 

Odd. This individual wasn’t the usual crowd to occupy the alley. And so, he carefully made his way over, taking note of the condition the other was in. The person appeared roughed up pretty badly. Luck for him a pre-med student was here. “Hey, are you okay there?”

“You say can’t, but you really mean you won’t, meanie…” he pouted.  He stifled a cough, turning away. “And then you expect me to drink it like that… you’ve gotta be kidding me.”

A sigh escaped him. If Souji didn’t take his medication, then that’d be an issue. “I suppose I can try to find something to hide the bitter taste.”

“Disgusting!!!”  He spat out the medicine, wiping his mouth and grimacing.  “Yamazaki-kun can’t you make it taste any better?? It tastes like death!!!”

"Consuming so much sugary confections on the daily will distort your taste, Okita-san” Susumu remarked, calmly wiping the stray spray off his being. “So, no, I can’t make it taste any better.”

“Gah!” Gojyo let out a cry of surprise as he was suddenly, and quite rudely, shoved off and took a rough tumble to the dirt. Laying there in defeat, crimson eyes glared up at the offender.

“You know, most people would just tell me to get off. But not you, huh?” He would choose someone who would give him grief. He seemed to have a knack for picking those people out. 

But the glare soon vanished and a smirk surfaced instead. Gojyo didn’t care that he was being ignored, he continued to talk anyways. Still not moving from the ground. “The names Sha Gojyo. What’s yours?”

Quietly continuing snacking on his street food, Yamazaki paid no attention to the fallen man, despite the retorts leaving his lips. Though, it was odd that the stranger decided to stay down, making no move to get up.

“Judging from how drunk you were with daylight still out, I thought you’d be hard of hearing,” Yamazaki casually remarked in-between bites. This man was a chatty one, wasn’t he? Perhaps the guy wasn’t as far gone as he originally thought, particularly when the other offered his name. A short brow was raised. “Yamazaki Susumu,” he responded automatically, then a brief pause. “Is this how you meet people, Sha-san?”

Gojyo downed another shot of sake. He’d lost count at four but he knew he’d consumed enough to be more than a little tipsy. He also knew that only losers got drunk so early before the sun set. Yet today was as good as any to excuse such an action, or so the redhead told himself. He was celebrating the end of his current mission. It had taken a lot longer and was more trying than he thought it would be when he accepted the request. Now he just couldn’t wait to get back to wandering around and exploring the world. 

He would probably have to stay the night in this town first however. Bad things tended to happen when he traveled drunk. So, paying for his latest drink, Gojyo gave a lazy wave and then lumbered his way out the door and into the warm sunlight. 

As the world tilted just slightly, he decided it might be best to sit down for a moment. He looked around and it wasn’t long before he spotted a bench nearby. It was already occupied but the fellow seemed friendly enough. So he made his way over and took a seat next to said fellow. When that wasn’t enough, Gojyo made himself more relaxed by laying down and boldly resting his head on the stranger’s lap. He looked up with a small smirk. 

“Yo.”

The doctor-in-training was keenly aware of the drunken samurai stumbling his way. At first, Yamazaki didn’t mind sharing the bench since it looked like the redheaded male seriously needed to sit down or else topple over midstep.

But, once the stranger had brazenly lad his head on the shinobi’s lap just as he received his fresh tray of snacks from the vendor, a twitch on the corner of his lips resulted. The guy even had the audacity to utter an informal greeting to him! Yamazaki calmly placed the tray behind him with a twitching brow on an otherwise poker-face. And he proceeded to promptly shove the other off. Honestly, the nerve. If anything, this peculiar behavior reminded him of one particular gunslinger when around Souji...Could this individual be related some way?

Sparing only the briefest glance at the man, Yamazaki returned his attention to the momentarily forgotten snacks.

“I’m telling you I’m ok! It was only a couple of drops of boiled water, it’s not a serious burn!” 

The corner of his lips twitched at Tetsunosuke’s stubbornness. “Ah, well, I guess when it blisters and boils, you can handle it yourself then.” A shrug as if to say, ‘I tried.’ Granted, Yamazaki was exaggerating, but the younger Ichimura didn’t have to know that.

━ Well done, Yamazaki. Anything to report?  ━  They’re so discrete as always, Hijikata put down the brush once he finished the letter. The Vice-commander stood up and opened the door.

“Beside your beloved page nearly scalding himself with boiling water, nothing to significant to report, Hijikata-san,” Yamazaki simply said upon seeing the tall man followed with a respectable bow.

Thankfully, today was not an overbearingly sunny day. After a week or so of nonstop sunshine, it got old fast. Granted it was summer, so it was to be expected but jeez, it couldn’t hurt to have some clouds thrown in every so often.

Dark violet eyes briefly glanced skyward at the partly sunny sky, gauging how many hours he had left before dark fell on the town. Surmising, Susumu had a good several hours to finish his errands and return to his dwelling at Shinsengumi’s and still have some time for himself. The people there need to not get injured so often since they depleted his medical stock more quickly than he can restock it.

A quiet sigh escaped thin lips once he spotted a vacant bench nearby outside a little stand that was beckoning him. Once the medic ordered some snacks, he perched on the bench after setting down his purchased belongings beside him.

Remus became somewhat more serious as he watched the other closely, he had always very cautious about who he told his secret too. He wasn’t sure if it was because all of his friends were now gone and he no longer had anyone to turn to, or if the coming full moon was clouding his thoughts but he was starting wonder if this stranger could be someone he could come to trust. “I’m sorry, but it’s nothing you would have learned of in school.” He told him. “And if you did know what it was then you wouldn’t want to stick around.”

A short brow fractionally rose at the other’s rather profound claim. Susumu’s curiosity bubbled even more despite his poker face. How was this remotely even possible? On the off chance that it was probable, it would be incredible. “...Learning is never ending,” the dark haired teen evenly pointed out, slight furrow of brows now back in place. “As a future doctor, I am required to ‘stick around’ regardless of the diagnosis. Do try me.”

so Muse A is a broke ass college student who is struggling to even eat each day and is working two jobs while still in school. Muse B is a CEO of a large corporation and a multi-millionaire. One night Muse A was scrolling through the internet and finds a website that sets you up with potential sugar daddies and Muse B sends Muse A a message right away and basically says if you come live with me for the summer and pretend to be in a relationship with me and ocassionally give me head or something like that, I’ll fucking take care of you

Remus looked back at the other as he spoke. “Thank you for the offer, but I don’t think that there is anything you can do to help.” He told him, knowing that there was no cure or any kind of medicine that could help him. Running his fingers through his hair the young male sighed once more. “It usually only lasts about a week.”

At the other’s polite but adamant refusal for help only caused Susumu to be both curious and insistent. It was almost like solving a medical case on paper in class. “Forgive me for prying, but as a pre-med student, what is your diagnosis?” Countless of illness had similar symptoms, and a handful with no cure, but for it to last a week? Most intriguing.

Remus looked up at the other and gave him a slight smile before nodding. “I’m fine thank you, I just need some rest.” He told him, it was still a couple more days until the next full moon and he was already starting to feel the effects of it. Sighing slightly the male looked around a little, he felt slightly weak and tired but knew that he had things to do before returning home.

A minute frown marred an otherwise poker face at the individual’s feeble attempt at reassuring him. As a pre-med college student, Susumu knew full well simple rest was not enough. Was he sick with something and doesn’t know? Normally he wouldn’t butt in on other people’s affairs, but when it concerned one’s well-being, all bets were basically off. Susumu gently pressed further with an even voice. “Are you sure? Perhaps I can be of assistance. I mean no offense, but you look anything but fine.”

"Hi, sorry, I saw you from across the room and had to say hi. Hi."

"Oops! So sorry. Did I hurt you?"

"I think they gave me your coffee by mistake."

"Your dress is beautiful."

"I don't suppose you have a pen, do you?"

"Where did you get that coat? It's gorgeous."

"Is there a problem here?"

"Are you okay?"

"This is going to sound crazy but my car died and I need to call AAA but I left my phone at home. Can you call them for me?"

"You wouldn't happen to have seen a pair of sunglasses around, have you?"

"Have you been crying?"

"You look hungry, let's get you something to eat."

"I don't get modern art."

"I'm not sure it's a great idea to be in this neighborhood after dark."

"That smells amazing. What is it?"

"I have been trying to come up with a good opening line for a while and keep failing."

"Are you okay?"

"Is this your car? I'm afraid I nicked the door."

"Could you turn the music down?"

"Can you believe that asshole?"
