Antonella Montes (Italy/Spain/China)
Antonella Montes, aka Lantomo, is an Italian artist and illustrator from Barcelona, now living in Beijing. She has developed her work stimulated by the creative environment of Barcelona’s underground culture. Acrylics, inks, pens, markers and crayons are her basic painting elements, usually working on small format, mixed technique and a preference for black, white and red. Antonella also experiments with wood of all kinds, for which she has an absolute fixation: she recycles and turns them into her canvas, using it’s knots and fibers in order to tell a story about a sensory world, with characters that fluctuate between disappointment, innocence, childness and wickedness.
