Hi! I’m finally taking some time off work for the first time in forever, because haha burnout is real. Anyhow, there’s been a flurry of kudos and comments on my fic recently, which makes me smile as always but I’ve been feeling ridiculously guilty about leaving the Silicon Valley zine unfinished! I’ve had the material sitting on my drive doing nothing, because I needed to make a cover and do art/layout stuff on it and run it through Bookwright and make sure nothing breaks and…

But I refuse to be a slave to my Libra Saturn, so I’m just gonna leave the files here as is, and if any new fans out there(?) are enjoying my fic then please enjoy this as well!

Hello! Hi! My sincerest apologies to everyone! I have been buried in work for *checks watch* most of the summer. There’s no land in sight—in fact I am procrastinating on work even as I type this. The zine doesn’t need that much more work to be ready, but I just haven’t had the time to spare for fandom stuff. 

I really want to get it done for everyone who submitted and everyone who expressed an interest, but the way my schedule is looking right now, that’ll be in October at best. I know it sucks that people made an effort to meet my deadlines and now I’m not delivering on time myself. 

But it’ll happen. Please forgive me and I love you all.

We’re actually still in the editing phase (irl work has been slowing me down, I’m sorry), so you’re not late at all! Watch this space and I’ll post a link to buy when it’s all ready. Thanks! 💙

Last call for submissions

There’s still time to submit to the Silicon Valley fanzine! Our due date is Feb. 7, 2020, so you have three weeks to put something together. Previously posted material is fine for this project, and new stuff is welcome as well.

How to participate:

Fill in the form. As editor, I need to wrangle contributors somehow, and that entails having your email address and some idea of what you plan to send in. 

Once I have your email, I’ll send you guidelines (art size, word count). But if you’re on the fence about whether you have anything that you can contribute at all, here’s the short version. 

Art should be at 300 dpi and as big as possible, at least 6.125″ wide and 9.125″ tall for full-bleed (so minimum 1838 x 2728 pixels). 

Fic should aim for 3000–7000 words, but there’s wiggle room up to 10,000 words. Drabbles and shorts under 3000 words are fine too.

Meta/essays should be between 500–10,000 words. 

Playlists can be put together with Spotify or Youtube links. Include a playlist with artist, title, and album for each track. If you have album art, it should be square and minimum 1000 x 1000 px.

This application form is for participation in a Silicon Valley fanzine commemorating the completion of the TV series, to be released in early 2020. A fanzine is a collection of fan art, fic, and other works in magazine form. It will be available in both digital and print form. We will send you a welcome e-mail containing the submission guidelines and due dates. E-mail will be our primary way of contacting you, so please remember to check your e-mail!

So here’s the link to the application form for potential contributors. Filling in the form isn’t a solid commitment, but you’ll be put on the mailing list for updates about format, requirements, how to submit, due dates, etc. 

If you’re on the fence but you think you might like to participate, go ahead and fill in the form so that you’ll have the information.

Tentative submission deadline is Feb. 7, 2020, but we’ll see if people think they need more time.
