Essie Kim is a fictional Korean singer, songwriter, dancer and producer. She debuted in 2015 in the co-ed group SEVENTEEN under Pledis Entertainment. She made her solo debut on the 9th of April, 2026 with Biggest Fan (Original RV's Irene), her title track from her mini album, With Love - Essie.

Back in South Korea, Essie had spent the day going over the schedules she had planned over the next week. She has a photo shoot with Vogue Korea in two days, studio sessions for a song she’s writing and producing for TWS and dance practice for the new routines and formations for their up-and-coming tour.
Right now, she’s sitting in the apartment she shares with Jeonghan and Seungkwan, headphones and blue light glasses on. She’s hunched over her laptop as she works on the song for TWS, fixing things that don’t sound right and making notes of which part might suit which member the best.
As the soft glow of her laptop screen illuminated the dimly lit room, Essie leaned back in her chair for a moment, allowing her mind to drift. She looks at the clock on the wall near the kitchen. It’s 12:05AM. Her stomach starts to rumble, reminding her that she'd missed dinner after telling Seungkwan not to worry about ordering her anything. After Seungkwan had put up a fuss about her not eating, she promised that she would get herself something later. He hesitated but ultimately let her be, deciding to see if one of their other members was free to grab dinner with him.
With a reluctant groan, she saves her work, takes off her glasses and headphones, and stands up, stretching her stiff and achy body. Taking her laptop back to her room, she grabs Seungcheol's hoodie that he left last time he was over and pulls it on before grabbing her bag, making sure her wallet was inside. She exits her bedroom just as Jeonghan leaves his room, half asleep.
"Where are you going?" he asks, noticing her getting ready to leave the apartment.
"The convenience store down the street," she answers, picking up her phone and checking it to see if Seungcheol had replied to her message that she sent to him a few hours ago. When she sees she hasn’t gotten a reply, she places her phone inside her bag. He’s still in LA with Mingyu preparing for the CxM unit debut. "Snack run. Do you want anything?"
"Give me a minute and I'll come with you," he tells her, now more awake, and heads back inside his bedroom to change out of his pyjamas and back into his clothes.
"You don't have to come," Essie assures him when he comes back out, putting his wallet into his pocket.
"And have Cheol-ah kill me for letting you go for a walk alone at this time of night?" Jeonghan asks, his tone playful yet laced with an undertone of genuine concern, reminding her of how fiercely protective her now fiancee can be when it comes to her safety. But even if Seungcheol wasn't her big scary protective boyfriend, Jeonghan still wouldn't let her go out alone at night by herself. None of the thirteen guys in her circle would ever allow her to wander the streets at night alone. “I’m not ready to die yet,” He adds dramatically, feigning a hand over his heart as if the mere idea of his murder is enough to send him into a panic.
Essie chuckles softly at his antics, “Okay, I suppose I don't want to be the reason for your untimely demise.”
His eyes sparkle with mock sincerity as he replies with a bowed head, “Thank you.”
With that, the duo makes their way to the entrance of their apartment, put on their shoes and head out the door into the warm summer night air. The streetlights cast a gentle glow on the pavement, lighting their way as they strolled side by side. Essie could hear the distant buzz of traffic and the occasional laughter from a group of friends nearby. Seoul always seems to come alive more at night, it being the time when people could relax after work.
"How's the song coming along?" Jeonghan asks, breaking the silence that had fallen over them.
Essie smiled softly, glancing sideways at Jeonghan. “It’s coming along.”
Jeonghan nodded thoughtfully, his hands tucked into the pockets of his hoodie. "And practice for the tour?"
"That's also coming along," she sighs a little sadly. Today it got to her that they will be doing this tour as 10 instead of 14 and that the group numbers will continue to lower over the next year or two. “It’s been hard adjusting to not having you and Nonu there. Now I- we have to adjust to not having Soonyoung and Jihoonie there too," she opens up to him.
Jeonghan’s expression shifted, the light-heartedness fading into something more serious. He wraps an arm around the younger woman’s shoulders, pulling her into his side. "I know it's tough but before you know it, we'll all be back on that stage together again." His words hung in the air like a promise. "Telling myself that helps me get through it."
A moment of quietness enveloped, thick with unspoken words as they both contemplated the journey ahead.
"Maybe you and Cheol could put some of the things you've been talking about in action during this time," he suggests. "Looking for a home together would be a good start."
"Yah! Are you trying to kick me out?," Essie jokes, pretending to look shocked and offended.
Jeonghan laughed, "No! I’m just saying it might be a good idea. You've been together four years, he's either at our apartment or your at his and his brother's apartment and you have that rock on your finger. Maybe it's time to start thinking about it.”
"Am I going to come home from tour to find all my stuff packed?" She kids again.
"You will if you don't listen to me," he jokes back.
"I'll have you know, Cheol and I have been talking about it," she informs him. "We want to start looking for our own place after the tour. You'll just have to put up with me a little longer," she teases. But little did she know their plans would happen sooner than they think.
Jeonghan raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "So, you’re saying I'll only have to put up with your endless array of nail polishes cluttering the apartment for just a little while longer?"
"I'll leave some behind so you don't miss me too much," she smiles, nudging his side.
Reaching the convenience store, they head inside. Essie picks up a basket and heads for the snacks aisle. Jeonghan went straight to the drinks isle, picking up a couple cans of dr. pepper for her while grabbing himself the drink he wanted. As Essie navigates the snack aisle, she throws a bag of honey butter chips, a bag of turtle chips, a pack of choco pies, and an instant ramen and tteokbokki into the basket before making her way over to the display fridges and chooses two packs of Gimbap, placing them into the basket.
Essie made her way to the checkout; her basket filled her late-night cravings. Jeonghan rejoins her with the drinks and some snacks he wants to get for himself. They both pay and head back to their apartment.
As soon as they arrive back at the apartment, Jeonghan puts his snacks away and heads back to bed, leaving Essie to get back to what she's working on while she finally fills her belly.

It's so freaking good and of course I got an idea to write a fic for it, so of course I started a side blog for random kpop and kdrama fics so I could post it there and why not post fics ideas that I have had but don't fit into the essie or @exo-noahlee verse?

Seungcheol walked through the door to his and Essie's home to find her sitting on the floor, and tears streaming down her cheeks. He automatically went into panic mode, kicking off his shoes and dropping his gym bag to the floor before rushing to her side. "What happened?"
She holds a onesie and pants set, bursting into tears again. It was a custom-made set just for their son. The onesie was red with white hemming, printed on it was 'Appa & Eomma's little cherry' with a picture of cherries. The pants are white with cherries printed all over them. Some of the mums in their make-up and wardrobe team had gifted a basket of baby items and postpartum stuff for Essie at the end of their tour.
Seungcheol's heart ached as he took in the sight of his wife, her shoulders shaking with each sob. Reaching out, he wraps his arms around her. She leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder. "What’s wrong? Talk to me," he tells her, his voice soft and soothing as he gently rubs her back.
She takes a shaky breath, her fingers gripping the fabric of the onesie tightly. "We've been so busy with tour, side projects and everything else that I don't think I think it's fully set in that we're having a baby. I feel like I haven't even adjusted to being pregnant and now that I'm able to just take a moment, it feels so real now," she said between sobs, their journey into parenthood finally feeling like reality to her. "It's gone so fast. He's almost here and I'm not ready for him to be."
Seungcheol's heart ached at her words. He understood that feeling all too well. The weight of impending fatherhood was weighing down on him more and more as they neared their son’s due date. "I get it," he murmured, pulling back slightly to look into her eyes. "I really do," he continued, wiping away a stray tear from her cheek with his thumb. "It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. We've been so busy and it's our first time doing this. It's going to bring a lot of emotions, good and bad."
Essie sniffled, managing a small smile through her tears as she nodded. "I just want to be the best eomma to our son."
"Trust me, you already are," he assures her, squeezing her hand gently.
She took a deep breath, letting his words sink in as she wiped her eyes with the back of her hand that he isn't holding. "You really think so?"
"I know so," he replied with a confident nod.
Her smile widened a little, and for a moment, the heaviness she was feeling lifts from her shoulders Their eyes locked in an exchange of sincerity and trust. “You’re already the best appa to our son too,” she reassured him, fully aware of his own insecurities leading into fatherhood.
He gives her a soft smile, leaning in to press a soft kiss to her lips. "We've got this," he says.
Essie lets out a soft gasp, feeling a strong kick coming from inside her womb. "I think he agrees," she chuckles, taking her husband's hand and placing it on her almost 8 month pregnant belly. "We might just have a little dancer on our hands. He's been active all day."
"Practising for his debut stage," Seungcheol jokes. "Our little cherry will be stealing the spotlight once he makes his debut."
"Until then, I need you to help me up because he's been pressing on my bladder for the last twenty minutes and I can't get up on my own," she says, the desperate urge to use the bathroom resurfacing now that she's calmed down.
He chuckled softly, his heart warming at her playful tone despite the situation. Carefully lifting her to her feet with ease, he holds her steady, making sure she has her balance before letting go.
"Thanks, Appa," she said with a teasing smile as she waddled toward the bathroom, her movements becoming more awkward, clumsy and slower in the later stages of pregnancy.
Seungcheol followed closely behind, ready to catch her if she stumbled.

- Essie is feeling a little overwhelmed by their son's fast approaching due date.
Hi! I was just wondering if you were planning on bringing back a couple of things from the old page! The 1st one is the one where Essie was gonna go out to the store in the middle of the night and jeonghan caught her and was like I’m gonna go with you cause cheol will kill me if he finds out you went out alone. That one was funny. Also if you were gonna continue the series you had I don’t remember the exact name but it was like I’ll wait for as long as you need or smth. It might’ve been the one you posted about a few days ago. Where she broke up with and ex and then told cheol to give her time but then she got with someone else I think? I don’t think we ever got the third part where they actually get together! So happy you are back, I noticed I couldn’t find you and was so sad
I am! I have them both of those in my drafts waiting to be edited/rewritten and re-posted. The three part series I was lucky enough to find the two first parts I had posted through a suggestion a mutual gave me. I have no idea when they will be posted. I have no schedule yet because life is busy right now. But I do plan on re-posting them as well as other fics I was able to find.
I'm so happy to be back, I missed you all and couldn't stay away.
