I'm done with the gameeeeeeee and I have thoughts
First of all I wanted to say that I really enjoyed the little hidden object sequences, when I discovered the first I audibly went "Eeeeh!! :D"
I also wanted to preface this post by saying that I'm not a theorist, I'm a writer who specialises in character-driven stories, so character analysis is what I tend to gravitate towards lol. Sorry if you were expecting theories but that's not me.
Anyway I really love the ending even though it made me sad bc you have Lucian who's just??? The nicest dude, he helps people (npcs, lost souls...) throughout the whole game and then this happens?? Dark dome when I catch you dark dome. I'm such a sucker for this specific genre of tragedy where a genuinely kind person gets fucked over by things that are bigger than them because the love was there!! It didn't change anything, it even might have made things worse, but what matters is that the love was there. Darien is another good example of this, but I think it's much more tragic in Lucian's case because Darien is fairly young and his mom is mentioned. So far, most of the characters have been implied/shown to have family or friends, but Lucian hasn't. It's unclear whether he didn't have anyone who cared enough to look for him or just... didn't have anyone, period. And that's absolutely heart-wrenching, but it also explains why he accepted being a vampire that... easily. "Vampires" in the bonus content is always plural, meaning that there are multiple. There's a community. And that might sound like a stretch, and it probably is, but it'd make it understandable.
Moving on to our ourple <3 I love women. Anyway, Mina has made a deal against her will to avoid getting turned into a vampire. Taking that into account, I don't actually think she enjoyed this. She just wanted to fulfil her deal. She comes off as selfish, like "it's okay if others get turned into vampires, as long as it's not me", but I think that's 1) not completely unreasonable and 2) only a part of the whole story, because she does say that she wants to live her life, meaning she has something, someone, to go back to.
I also have a question or two, like who's the person on the phone in the mansion? They say something along the lines of "it's you, right?", and while that might just be like the random ass eye in Beyond the Room, it might be an actual character?
Also thinking about the silhouettes in the lab like what the fuck was Freyer even doing lmao. Are those failed clones or actual people?
And there's the cell guard in the bonus, is he a vampire too or...? Related, I'm also somewhat worried about the creatures Mina freed by inadvertance.
Anyway, that's it! ... For now, at least, lol. I might have more thoughts somewhere down the line, who knows. I do have one or two fic ideas bubbling somewhere too so you might hear something about that at one point :)
