Something I like to do in games is change my character's hair/clothes/ect after a certain story event. Like, for example, in GTA IV, after Niko starts doing jobs for Playboy X (or generally when he starts doing more jobs in Algonquin) and reaching the end game, I dress him in suits and drive nicer cars. Adding to my immersion, or whatever you wanna call it, by showing in game progression through the playable character. Even if the game doesn't force them to change, if you know what I mean. It's definitely a roleplaying/method acting thing that I carried over to my gaming hobby lol.
