I did it. After years of trying to really fall in love with Sims 4, I've uninstalled and gone back to Sims 3. I got it running flawlessly, with zero crashes and almost zero lag, and I'm having the best time. Seeing that there's still very much an active community for Sims 3 was like water in the desert, and once I discovered the Hix Completionist Challenge and the LePacy Challenge, I feel reborn in the year 2010 and it feels so good. And so now I'm playing:
The Tourmaline Hix Completionist Random-Rainbow Decades LePacy!
Tourmaline is my favorite stone, and comes in a wide variety of colors. I love and desperately missed the generational rainbow playstyle, and I am a slut for the decades playstyle. So I'll be doing ALL OF IT >:]
Some notes about the way I'm playing:
I am completely randomizing the color per generation using this wheel, except for the first generation, which will be white/grey because it's so boring that if I were to roll it on a wheel, I would cry.
Sims born into this family will be named after emotions that correspond with their generations color. ex: yellow is typically seen as the color of happiness, red of anger, blue of sadness, so on so forth.
I'm starting in the 1920's, because it's just too much damn work to remove everything modern from the whole entire open town, and with Roaring Heights the 20's are a breeze.
My playstyle is VERY hands-off and I let the wants they roll lead the way. Arguably, to a fault. I love drama.
I turn off several autonomous actions completely just to make it more immersive or less annoying for myself. No one is allowed to open the fridge, forcing them to all wait until dinner time at 6pm. No one is allowed to prank the toilets or build random igloos, just some random things like that that don't make the game any easier for me, but do make it more fun.
