Flåmsbana ~ Flåm ~ Norway Flåmsbana is the Flåm Railway that connects the high mountain station of Myrdal to Flåm station in the valley. This is one of the world's steepest railway tracks (height difference of 866 metres). The highest part of the track can allow only one train per time, so the train going up has to stop and wait for the one going down to pass by first. ~ La Flåmsbana è la linea ferroviaria che connette la stazione di Myrdal (sulle montagne) a quella di Flåm (a valle). È uno dei percorsi ferroviari più ripidi al mondo con una differenza di altezza di 866 metri. Mi sembrò di aver colto per la prima volta in lei una debolezza come essere umano, e ciò mi addolorò un poco. Distogliere lo sguardo dalle cose che le facevano paura, da quelle sgradevoli o che potevano ferirla, era il suo modo di fare. Mi ricordai del portaombrelli. [...] lì sul retro la zia aveva accumulato una serie di oggetti "come se non ci fossero mai stati" che adesso, in una quantità stupefacente, erano lì, colpiti dalla pioggia. C'erano lì in mezzo cose di ogni genere. Tutte quelle cose erano gettate lì senza alcun criterio, al solo scopo di togliersele davanti e non pensarci più. Pensai che forse la zia si separava dalle persone altrettanto recisamente, e ciò mi rattristó un po'.
