Just writing practice I wrote of Kouyou's death.

"Stop, Chuuya, stop it. Stop!" He grabbed his partner roughly by the arm, dragging him back. "You won't find anything."

"Let go!" He shoved Dazai off, scrambling back towards the rubble and trying to keep tears from streaming down his cheeks.

"You're gonna hurt yourself, Chuuya," he insisted, but Chuuya just pulled his arm back.

"She's in here, I have to get her out!" He tried to lift the rubble up, but felt a hand gently press against his back. A hand nullifying his ability. "Let me get her out!"

"I'll do it, Chuuya, please, just get back."

"No! She's okay, she's just trapped!" He tried to dig back the stones and rubble scattered around where he had seen Koyou land, but Dazai just grabbed him again, this time dragging him back and turning his body until they were face to face.

"Stop it. Stop. She's not-" He paused, pain seeping into his expression. "She's gone, Chuuya."

"No, no, shut up. Shut up! She's not! I can get her out, just let go of me!" He cried, trying again to pull himself back, but failing, his partner's grip strong on his arms.

"I'm sorry, Chuuya."

"Stop! She's not- she's okay, let me help her, let me-" He was cut off as Dazai wrapped his arms around his back, holding him tight.

"I'm sorry."

He let out a shuddering breath, sinking into his partner's arms. "No," he sobbed. "no, she can't-"

"I'm sorry, Chuuya."

It’s interesting that scientists have documented homosexual behaviours in over 1500 species. But only one species has documented homophobia. So what really is unnatural? Something that can be found in 1500 species or something cruel and hateful that’s been found in one.

And that my friends is why Pride Month is still so important. Yes, it is about celebration. It is about joy, love, community, and being visible without apology. But it is also about walking for those who cannot. Speaking for those who have been silenced, and standing for those who still live in countries where being LGBTQIA+ is criminalised, punished, or treated as something shameful.

Pride is a reminder to every government, every lawmaker, and every person who still believes otherwise: all love is beautiful, all identities deserve dignity, and every LGBTQIA+ person has the right to exist freely.
