Day 21: winter solstice
Practiced class today with a migraine. I guess it's all the crazy weather - it's 60+ degrees on the first day of winter.
if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.

Halfway point!
I missed two days so far from injury, but I'm well on my way to recovery. I'm not beating myself up (too much) about missing classes, because despite them, I am feeling so much more committed to my practice.

Day 10&11: Confidence
I took a day off to focus on healing my injury, but was back on the mat at 6 am this morning. Taking the day off should have been a no-brainer, but it was difficult for me no less. I make such high expectations for myself even to my own detriment. The whole purpose of this challenge is to focus on ME and when the time comes to do that, I see just how stressful it becomes. Instead of showing compassion for my body, I feel disappointment, frustration and humiliation for what I cannot do.
Back on the mat this morning, however, I had a good class. I was limited in what postures I could try, but I was more able to progess in the series than on Monday evening.
I came across this article, Confidence is the New Sexy, which fits nicely with what's going on right now with me. So, I guess it came across my screen at a really good time.

Day 9: Coccyx
I fell down a flight of stairs yesterday and injured my tailbone. In class today I gained a newfound appreciation of this part of my body...after losing ability to use it!
This very well may be a 9 day challenge. I'll see how it goes. Argh :(

Day 8: Snow Salutes
The truly dedicated yogini clears snow off her car and drives in the chilly, wet streets to get squishy in the steamy hot box.

Day 5: selfie
I realized today that bikram class is like a 90 minute moving selfie.

Day 4: Emotional detox
This is how I felt in class today:
I'm not sure where it came from, but I don't necessarily think that matters. My mind/body/soul processed the emotions and I BETTER have a pretty freakin' blissful sleep tonight. Because in less than 12 hours I'll be doing it all over again.

Day 2: Oh boy...
During the floor series tonight, it occurred to me that I might not be as prepared for this as I thought...
Then this quote helped.
