Here is a sneak peek at chapter 4 of “Invisible Strings”

The next few days passed like a blur. Betty barely stayed at her apartment. The only time she did pop in was to gather some clothes and check her mail. The morning after their amazing romp, she was gathering her stuff and was ready to head out. “Don’t leave. Stay another night. I just want to spend more time with you.” Sweet Pea was not one to beg. He’d never have anyone stay at his trailer. Not even Josie. His need for her to be in his bed another night came out of nowhere. “Please,” he begged her as he took her hand in his.

She looked at him and smiled. How could she say no? “Okay. Let me just at least get some new clothes from my apartment.” And that’s how she ended up staying more than she had expected.

She was currently at Pop’s on her lunch break when she ran into Veronica and Archie.

“Betty, hi! I didn’t know you were in town.” Veronica hugged her old friend. After everything went down in High School, they lost touch and barely spoke.

Betty was taken aback by the embrace but returned it immediately. “Hey, Veronica. Yeah, I’ve been here a few days now. I’m working with the FBI department here in riverdale.” She smiled sweetly.

“Does that mean you’re staying in Riverdale for good?” Both Veronica and Archie slid into the booth in front of her. “Archie and I have decided to move into the Pennbrooke. Riverdale is our home.”

“I’m so happy for you both. Riverdale needs you. Me? Um, maybe? I haven’t decided yet. I’m just here for Pop’s retirement.” She sipped on her vanilla milkshake, hoping they wouldn’t bring up Jughead. Of course, it had to be Archie.

“Have you seen Jug? He’s staying at my house in the meantime since I'm living with Ronnie. Are you staying with your mom?” Betty felt overwhelmed by all the questions.

“Okay. One question at a time please,” she chuckled. “I am not staying with my mom. I got an apartment. As much as I love my mother, I refuse to live with her again. And yes I ran into Jug the other night. We got into a fight…. Because I'm seeing Sweet Pea.” She watched their reactions. Both Archie and Veronica leaned back with wide eyes.

“Sweet Pea? You’re seeing Sweet Pea?” Veronica didn’t mean to make it sound bad. Honestly, she didn’t.

He knows he was very hostile towards her back in the day. It was the only way he could handle what he was feeling seeing her with Jughead. He never felt like he deserved her. Now, 7 years later, she was single and hadn’t been with anyone else but ex serpent king himself. Did he have a shot? He was about to find out.

“You’re not very subtle, Sweet Pea,” she chuckled.

“Maybe I don’t want to be. Maybe I want you to know,” leaning in closer to her ear, “after all these years, you still affect me.”

I’ve got some RL stuff going down so my updates may slow down for a minute. Nothing bad, just time consuming.

However, I want to share with my friends that I’m tentatively planning to run a Sweet Bee prompt fest starting Jan 1. I’ll run it though AO3 and will advertise with graphics, etc. In order to encourage participation, it will welcome threesomes and moresomes that feature Sweet Pea and Betty. 😈
