I think what bugs me about "maybe abstraction could be reversed!" In combo with "Jax is irredeemable" is that we were shown Leeroy to show she is redeemable - but you can't redeem yourself after death. The whole message is "Don't kill yourself because you'll never get better," and it's a very good message which loses substance/completely changes if abstraction is not permanent.

Anyway reversing it in art and fanfics is fine obviously I just hope the canon never backs down from it being permanent

Greatly enjoyed TADC as an art piece with the retrospect of "Jax is a trans woman and this is a cautionary tale about self isolation and avoidant attachment tendencies", just wish I would have thought of it/known that was the ideal perspective sooner.

The perspective of "characters who must come to terms with and learn to enjoy a permanently static life" initially made the finale very unenjoyable for me. Not a fan of SOMA style twists, especially when the real versions of the characters still exist and, from a plot or writing perspective, the only reason these brain scan versions exist is to suffer eternally or until someone literally pulls the plug. The reason it worked so well in SOMA, from what I gather, is that the brain scan did not exist by chance. I recognize after some reflection that the writing perspective is not the intended viewpoint, as Gooseworx is an artist first.

From an art perspective, TADC was a fantastic piece of media. I can't wait to view more of Gooseworx' works in the future.
